Lesley Gore co-wrote this song for the film Grace Of My Heart. A very good film from the 90s. I love the song when I saw the movie. Happy Birthday Lesley! You left too soon. You had a lot more to give. Still I am glad for all the music and songs you left behind. You Rock!!!
Lesley Gore should of wrote about her life, even her closet life style. to know her up and downs, even her closet up & downs. maybe. one of her lovers of the past well tell her affair with Lesley. I would buy it. to know Lesley human heart.
It's ridiculous that the pictures chosen for this video are all heterosexual considering the movie. This song was supposed to represent a Dusty Springfield type. Have you seen the film?
Actually, the singer, Kelly, is based off of Lesley Gore, who was also a closeted lesbian singer in the 1960s (although she didn't discover this until around 1966, a few years after the setting in this film).
yup. 100% Lesbian song. the early 1960s. at that time period, gays lived in the closet. went to hidden gay clubs. even Celebrity's like Lesley gore, rock hudson and many other's. no matter what. Lesley Gore music lives on. she was one very pretty jewish girl that lived a secret life.
well the song is about a girl who is gay and can't express love because at that time being gay was hard than ever .. And any girl or boy that were gay were like a sinners ... so the pics of the video are just funny 😂😂😂🐸
@@hankpicard160 you called someone a idiot in a earlier post, obviously you haven't seen the film or even paid attention to the lyrics. "Girls like me" "I won't give the world the chance of accusing you".....the lyrics coupled with the scenes in the film while this is being sang, including one woman secretly blowing a kiss to the woman singing so that nobody can see her do it, OBVIOUSLY shows its about 2 women in love in the 60's when being Gay was so frowned upon that gay women would kill themselves if found out. You are a hater, and a trol.
LOL, Totally about Lesley Gore. So much so that the movie folks went to her to write a 1960’s type song about a hidden love, from a closeted lesbian “Lesley Gore” type pop singer. Then they sent her a completed song, which was a hot mess and Lesley unfucked it. Then the movie douches give her 3D writer credit on the song, don’t invite her to the NYC movie premiere or red carpet party. I ❤ Lesley Gore and her music. I wish I could have known her in person.
