Glad you enjoyed my video! I first got my farm in 1994. Back then I used my last dime to get the place and I got a really great deal on it. I was broke for years but had a lot of land. Today the price of land has gone up so much that I can't get anymore. A couple weeks ago they auctioned off 18 acres down the road from me and it went for 3 times the price I was expecting. I don't see how young people could afford to buy a farm today. I really am lucky to have a farm. I will show some scenes from the woods and the fields in a video here soon since the leaves are starting to change
Good one JT. It was interesting to watch your updates during the shoo-fly days of the construction in Richwood and is nice to re-visit the area. Even though the major constructions is done, there's still some minor changes going on. The Gaines House is always in interesting place. Thanks.
Thanks 👍 these areas are fun to film. I will keep filming them as long as people will watch. I like the Walton area. I can't wait for their parade that is coming up soon
Hi JT, What a great film it had everything! Nice to see you get a salute too. I guess when they close a couple of crossings & build an overpass it's called progress! Your pup is getting to be your biggest dog! He's really grown. ❤😊
Many thanks! Yes, he really grew fast. He has a lot of energy. He loves being outside running around the pond and the horse pasture. He is a funny dog.

Thanks for the Shoo-fly update. It was interesting to see what the Railroad and Department of Transportation will do to improve traffic flow in the long term, even if it is disrupted somewhat during the construction.

Thank you for taking us back to Richwood, Kentucky to see what the area looks like as of 4 October 2023. The landscape is so different than it was last year and earlier this year. The Norfolk Southern trains in Walton, Kentucky were interesting to watch. It was unusual to see a Canadian National locomotive on a Norfolk Southern train especially a Norfolk Southern train on the Cincinnati, New Orleans & Texas Pacific line to Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am surprised that you did not see any CSX trains when you were at the Abner Gaines House in Walton, Kentucky since the CSX tracks are on the other side of the Gaines House.
I actually did see one CSX train when I was there. I ran over to it and barely got the lead locomotive. I will put that in another video. The CSX train was a long one. I also filmed an abandoned bridge over the railroad that I will put in that video. Just the remains of the bridge but I never knew it was there until they cleared the area . I will have that and a couple trains passing it in a video soon
I grew up on a dairy farm. The barn was large and impressive. After Dad retired, the farm was sold, and the barn no longer used. Eventually the roof leaked, and one day the barn collapsed. Very sad day indeed, and I can no longer pass by the old farm, because I want to remember as it was.
Yes, the Union Pacific DPU was workin' hard, also nice catch on the Canadian National locomotive! I miss videos from Winton Place, Canal Ridge Rd, but I know you've said the area there is questionable, and your safety comes first of course. I wouldn't blame you if you nevr went back, you have lots of other cool places to catch trains. Be safe Brian.❤👍🙏
Always watch these with my son. He notices the EMD's and the CN engines. Great locations today! Thanks for another great video JT! ALSO... really appreciate how you always include facts about the trains and cars. I never knew the weight those grain cars hauled and was surprised it was so much. Brings home the reality of just how much weight those trains pull!!
Awesome shoo-fly update. That old crossing signal with the bell would look good in your front yard, just sayin..... Great action throughout, enjoyed it much! Thanks JT!

That would be cool! The bell is the thing I would really love to have, especially since I have videos of it in action. I rarely see CN locomotives down here. Thanks for watching!
Those trees in the fence rows do take lots of water away from the crops, not to mention robbing them of sunshine. The only bad part is that they usually grow back because the ground doesn't get disturbed. 😊
The Yards were sure pumping out the freight today All the trains moving along at a decent clip and a couple sure had the variety of old cars featuring obscure Lycoming Valley boxcar. It takes a fair number of years for them to produce their nuts but it's fun watching the squirrels work so hard for the little bit of filling they actually have
I'm surprised they removed the crosses where someone was killed...they really should keep them put. Great vid as always. That abandoned crossing could sit there for years, I've seen it. There's no telling.
Thanks 👍 They had been working around the crosses. I used to check on them every time and then this time they are gone. On the other side of the road I found a small pile of plastic flowers and a small display. I think they were from the crosses. Too bad they removed them.

That 5-engine train with the CN engine was cool. I think maybe there was a power move there as the train wasn't long enough to need the 22,000 hp :)
