I’m glad that limb didn’t hit your house. Our damage is not wind, it’s all water. Too much water. In our house no tap water, no sewer, no power, no furniture, no appliances. A whole new opportunity going forward. An adventure! Thanks JT for another super video. From our hotel room and my IPad. ❤
I love seeing your pets, JT! ❤ Even Brandi made it into the video! Tom reminds me of a cat, Arnie, that we had for 18 years! He used to chase dogs out of our yard. I liked all of the great trains you got today, too. I appreciate your dedication to getting trains even when it's raining! How is it that you don't melt? 😂 Seriously, it was a great video that I liked very much! Keep up the great work, and please tell your family and all of the pets that I said hi. I hope your power back soon, and please be careful out there! I'll chat with you later. 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤❤ 23:5323:53
An unexpected pleasure to see the 1070 Wabash at end DPU. May have stated before I have it in my HO setup. Always liked that 1070 and so it's nice to see it here. I guess you don't have a generator. They are nice if power goes out several times a year. If you don't get outages often then ya just enjoy the temporary changes and grill what's in the freezer. Hoping it's back on for you.
Our electric only goes out a few times a year and it always just a few hours or less. This time was the longest it's been out since I have lived here. I don't know if I need a generator or not. Anyway, thanks for watching!
The Wabash Cannonball came by. Have we seen the Southern heritage unit? I don't remember it. I grew up with Southern and L&N back in East Tennessee. One uncle worked at the Southern shops in Knoxville and another uncle on the other side of the family was an engineer for L&N. When he started it was on steam engines! Walton has good places to railfan. Not just good but also convenient. Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee got hammered very hard by that storm. When it came up to the Smokies it started dropping all its moisture and pretty much wiped out multiple town. My cousin has/had a place on the Nolichucky River upriver from Newport and I see on Facebook it is probably all gone. All are saying that it is not being reported as bad as it actually is. I can't miss a video, JT. Sometimes I can't catch it before another comes out but I am not any behind. lol
When I heard about Hurricane Helene an how it hit sections of Florida and north North Carolina, I immediately wondered about how bad the railroad lines were hit.
HI jaw tooth glad you and your family and the pets are safe and sound. Great video love the Wabash heritage unit nice catch. I have a bit of advice might be a good idea to have that tree cut down right beside the house.
That is one sweet looking Wabash unit!! Hope your electric was restored quickly, and relating to your videos, remember: "Jesus saves and you should too!" If you hadn't saved it on your computer, I am presuming you lost the entire thing. Here in western Pennsylvania, (Crawford&Venango County), we had rain but no real 'storm' to speak of. Hope things get normal again for you soon!!
Hey JT, looking a little bit wet, Some Hefty Storms in your Area, Hope You didn't suffer much damage, Train Salute I think or Crossing Ahead, Probably both as he started just on reaching where you were standing, Nice DPU at the back of one of them but I missed who it belonged to, Missed the Line, Gee you Get some Great Feed Back from the Crew, Take care Man....
I like that Wabash loco running as DPU! I recently learned that the Wabash was a well run railroad and in railroad jargon the term "to Wabash" meant to do things right!
JT those dockworkers going on strike is really gonna put a halt on the double stacks going to the East Coast and coming from the East Coast. I’ve got a son and daughter-in-law that lives in North Augusta, South Carolina, and the eye of hurricane Helene came right over the top of them, and they got tore up bad, they still don’t have electricity but in some of the grocery stores that do have electricity my daughter-in-law told me this morning that they are empty because people are going nuts over the strike thinking that they’re not gonna be able to get food but anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Good call get away to your favorite place and do your favorite thing to decompress a little as long as everyone is safe the rest are just details thanks for the share 😊
I love Norfolk Southern's horn , I call it two tone. I forget the name, have it written down. And I like elephant style. If you have a generator try that, at least you would have some light. Awesome video. Hope you have electric soon. Have a nice day 😊🌈❤
This last hurricane virtually had a dpu pushing it far inland with some staggering amounts of rain falling in areas that can't absorb it. If it's going to rain all day might as well see a train or two and the Wabash unit plus the gondola train help take away the Gloom. If this weather continuous you'll have to build an ark for the family are all those live-action pets. Take care.
We were without power for about eight days a few years ago it’s not fun. We had a big storm roll through Nova Scotia. Just keep getting out and film those trains. It will make the time pass. Great job as always.
I feel for ya ‘tooth. Nothing worse than loosing power. Especially if it remains hot and humid as it is here in Florida. We’re far enough inland so fortunately we missed the worst of the storm, the places along the coast were really devastated, especially the pan handle.nice video son!
Hopefully you have good insurance and that the tree limb didn't do serious damage to your lovely house. Also it might be time to trim over hanging tree branches. But the storm could have dome real serious damage to your homestead. Like your sun hat. Helps reduce skin cancer. Also an UPS for your home computer might be a good addition for your office. Looking forward to viewing your next video. Ashville NC and the Big Bend area of Flordia really got hammered but where we live on Central Florida Helene was a non event. Take care Brian.
Great video, JT I usually keep track of national storms using the VRF ("Virtual Rail Fan") network of cameras, but some of those low clouds where you were getting train footage had me scared for YOUR safety (and the report of 2 lightning strikes from the engineers)‼ Plz stay safe out there.
