Hey Brian, thanks for braving the cold! Great video. Also thank you. FYI, I have called the emergency number that is listed on the railroad crossing in the past when I found a defect on a rail and the maintenance crew came out a few days later and repaired it. So just an FYI. Thanks again! Have a great day.
Beautiful first train! What gorgeous video. That truck had to have misjudged its speed! That baby would take 2000’+ to stop. Oh well. If you’re going to cross, do it in in 1st or 2nd, and be accelerating through the crossing. Never be on the brake. If you’re going, make a decisive move. Oh, and make sure your estate is in order. There would’ve been no 2nd chance with that train! 🙀
I know horses don't like steam locomotives. There was a gal that lived by IRM and when we ran steam she would have to lock her horse in the barn or it would go wild, bucking and kicking. It never gave a second look at diesels or electrics. More great action, liked it much. Thanks JT!
Hey JT , looked like a nice day for railfaning , but cold , thanks much for bringing us all this train action an more ... that loaded NS train had nearly every car an NS centerflow hopper. Very cool . Cheers thank you for sharing...
Hi JT, awesome first train, mixed freight & yes it was booking! Nice little crossing too. Great horn action on the CSX, you can hear when that train approaching , the 4th train was going so fast round that curve! My favourite train was the triple N/S loco intermodel just fab! Beautiful crossings in this video JT. ❤😊👍
Great video, that truck man that was dumb, the horse wasn't a bit afraid. If they don't replace that defect we will be hearing about the derailment on the news. Take care, stay warm and healthy.
Great video. In my city, all stop signs are required to be a certain height from the road surface. And, starting at the base of the sign pole a wide stop line is required to be painted on the road surface, showing vehicles where to come to a full stop. I don't know if this applies to railroad crossings in the state where you were filming but that truck was clearly wrong to blow past that stop sign. Thanks for another great video. Loved the dog chasing the goose at 23:20 !
We appreciate you Mr JT for filming out in not so comfortable weather. Please try to dress warm and pray you stay well. As always we enjoyed this cool video. Awesome view.❤😊 The Union Pacific locomotives are so distinctive looking. Cool Love my favorite NS.❤loved the double stack trailers.love those fur babies. Thanks so much ❤😊
Great train action JT!! I would think with you showing the defect in that weld job on the track, that they would get out there and repair it soon. Fantastic area to view trains. Love the small back country roads that the tracks cross and you can get right up by it and enjoy the locomotives more. Could sure tell it was cold there as in one scene, your face was red! Need one of those face mask hats :) Have a great week JT! I won't be able to watch until I return from some out of town medical appointments this week, and I'll sure miss my daily dose of Jaw Tooth!! Until next time!!
I have one of those hats like that. I will start wearing that. I hope your medical work comes out well. You can watch my videos when you get back, they will still be here. Lol. I have some myself to do and I broke a tooth.
Well, cheers for CSX! That first (CDX) train had little graffiti. Hopefully CSX is improving their yard Security. RR freight graffiti was just begining when I worked for ATSF in 1967. Love notes would be painted on cars, such as Johnny loves Suzie.
Speaking about cold weather - I was shooting one of my PSA videos for the Saline PD and the wind chill was something like 10 below that day. So I tell the officer, when you pull in the parking lot, I'll do my intro and you pull next to me. Well, that worked great until he snuck the patrol car up behind me and hit the lights and sirens. I jumped 3 feet in the air and all the cops thought that was hysterical. So the next day I left a box of donuts on his patrol car. What they'll for that welded rail is put a form around it and do a phosphorous weld and grind it flat. "that's railroadin'" has a video about it.
WOW! That grain train not only had the obligatory flat spotted wheel, but, had a bonus of 5 more! Quite a catch JT! lol. Anyway, great video. First responders, another bonus!
That guy had 9 seconds to save himself if anything went wrong. Can you determine there's a problem, get everyone out of your vehicle, and get clear of the collision in that time? Didn't thinks so.
Great train action in Hamilton Ohio and also in Walton and Florence Kentucky with the grain cars and all of the other great trains, really glad to see an appearance from Norfie and the slide show recaps Thank You very much Jaw Tooth and have a very Merry Christmas.🇺🇲🤠🐶😸🇺🇲 🎄🎄🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨🎄🎄
That's just too crazy to be playing chicken with those trains. They are much bigger and they hurt you or kill you for trying that. Thanks for sharing this Brian.
Hello Jaw Tooth, Another Great Video, Like the surrounding area and their it is something i feared an idiot trying to Out Run a Train, No Boom Gates, If that Train had of Connected with that person or persons they would not be around for this Xmas, Nice Video and Merry Xmas to you and Congrats on a Great Year of Videos.
Fabulous video today JT! Lots of good trains today. Most of them are going quite fast. On the front of the last one there were double stacked tanks. That's the first time I've seen that! I really enjoyed the content today. Thank you very much. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing what little respect some drivers have for an oncoming train. It might be due to the lack of gates at that crossing. Great NS train though :) I notice that you are the man when it comes to steel coils! You find them almost everywhere and that is cool as it means we are manufacturing stuff :) I also saw boxcars - yay!
Not a smart move on the truck driver's part. But I suspect he may have thought he was so overloaded that if he did slam on the brakes, he'd lose a lot of his load, or worse -- send it flying into the train. That wouldn't be good either.
Another awesome video! I heard tyke clanking on the first train so I'm glad you found the source. All that guy had to be was just a little too far over and get stuck on the tracks and boom game over. Stay warm roll on thanks for the video
Good morning JT, how are you, that welded rail joint could possible be cracked, broken right through. The welded joint failed right through possibly, have a close look.
Nice video. It is a weird coincidence that right at the first scene of the ambulance in this video I heard a fire truck running through the streets of my hometown.
That looked like an inclusion in the railhead; that could fracture and lead to a big fat boo-boo! I hope they catch that with the track geometry train before then. I wonder if that was a grain train, or plastic pellets for injection molding? Either way, JT, don’t freeze your a** off just to catch a train; we don’t need a JT-flavored popsicle! 😮
You caught some nice trains in Florence, Walton and Hamilton, Ohio in this video, Jaw Tooth! That is some interesting pitting in that welded rail joint on the Norfolk Southern on the Rat Hole Line. Those Schneider National tanks are containers rather than tank trailers. Instead of having wheels on them like a gasoline tank trailer, they have a frame around them so that they came be loaded on train well cars. The tank containers are moved over the highways by putting them on a trailer chassis like a container is placed on a chassis. There is an outlet with a valve on the bottom rear of the tank container that you can see as the train rounds the curve. If you look closely at the outlet, you can see the handle of the valve that opens and closes the outlet pipe. These tank containers are either empty or they are loaded with a non-hazardous liquid. Both tank containers at one time contained hazardous materials. You can see the outlines of diamond hazardous on each of the containers where hazardous placards were pasted on the containers. There are no holders for hazardous material placards like you would see on tank cars that normally contain hazardous materials.
Always makes me laugh that the bells fall silent when the barriers are down as if to keep the noise down but then the loco is blasting the whistle for bloody ages
One of these days I will tell the story of how I got arrested for having these radios on me only a couple miles from this crossing. I have a license for them but the cops didn't understand the law. It was the Twilight Zone. The judge dropped all charges when we showed the cops the law and my license . My radio license is also on my plates!
JT there's a lot of railroad action you are missing between southwestern Virginia Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia.... Maybe you should check out the Virginia transportation museum in Roanoke Virginia
Good Morning Brian and fello railfans. Enjoy your Sunday.
Right back at ya as NY rail fan. Love trains, can't get enough.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday guys from the UK

The good old days of the sound of stick rail !
That low joint maybe the result of poor weld. The sound is so loud that you’d think it was jointed rail Good catch!
