Got the Navigator on my very first run. My friends were very happy for me and very supportive and just so glad that I could get it and they're not jealous at all and this guide is nice and imma go try this now.
You are lucky, some of my friends were jealous. They didn't come right out and say it but, tones say what they can't say by speech. Congrats on getting the gun first try. I too got it on my first try with my Titan, did use the master cheese at the end though.

I remember getting the Touch of Malice ony my first ever run and the other players on my team were not happy about it... It was funny listening to their frustration and petty antics over my drop... Some of them til' this very day haven't unlocked the weapon and still big mad abou it lol

What happens if you don't have the navigator when you do this then get it after this is completed? Do you get the catalyst automatically When you get the gun?
I helped someone get the catalyst. Does that mean my chances improve? Note I didn’t get some of the crystals during the three phases. Did I need to grab all crystals to still better my chances or just my participating count?
You mean the dead ghosts? It just part of the catalyst and had nothing to do with increase chance. As I wrote above, you can look into the dungeon triumphs and there you can see what exactly increase the chance.
We did it today, we missed sometimes the hive knights of the third step killing the wrong one. Simply the symbol over the boss head changed and we had to search again
As I explained in the streams a couple of times, we stream mostly 2-3h, sometimes 4h. In this entire time you can carry only 1 or 2 people through a dungeon but in the same time, you can carry 5-6 or more guardians through a GM. I don't think many people will watch 1-2h who we carry only 1 Guardian, unfortunately.

Probably not (but can't remember anymore)

Which crystals? o_O under the triumph you can see which triumph increase your chance.

As I mention in the video, you have to complete the first encounter to interact with the dead ghost :)
