On my 12th birthday one of 8 brothers took me to my first james brown concert, here in my hometown Baltimore city at the Baltimore civic center. The man phenomenonal I was hooked 🎉 much love to my big brother ❤️
He put a slight pause on the performance because he wanted the audience to be into it! Such an amazing showman. I definitely would have gotten on up! Thanks again for posting such wonderful videos, MS! It's a mystery you don't yet have 100K+ subscribers, but that number is building and I love to see that! Take care!
"Godfather of Soul" says it all...........He turned rhythm on its head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also Hardest Working Man in Show Business..........he used to perform 250 times a year!!!!!!!!!!! Miss you Soul Brother #1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get on up! Get up and jam! Excellent performer... he's got them movin' and a groovin '! 💃 Those backup dancers are phenomenal... no tricks, no splits, no flips... just good all- around dancing! 💃 Happy Tuesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
The man as unreal, what a showman, a friend of mine in HS had to see him but back then he only played in the hood . He was at the Capitol theater in Chicago but my friend had to see him so he took the bus into the hood , got tickets and went in. Told me he was the only white personality in the theater but what a show ! No regrets he went. Loves James Brown to this day !

Freaking WOW! I really apprecaite what is happening. So many great things have been released and so many to come. Originally I thought it was someone that had a DVD collection or access to old VHS tapes and was creating a channel as a fan. So happy that it is the real thing and so many great experiences can now be re-experience by a new generation. I have already seen things i did NOT know existed. Thank you for doing this. I was a huge fan as a kid. Side note, I talked to someone in the band LeRoux and they were able to give me first hand accounts of what it was like back in the day. I hope you have them in your vault.
Hardest working man, and band in show business. He used to fine his band 5 dollars anytime they were off, and there are performances where he turns to one of them and just mouths 5 lol
I'd either be the person standing there because I can't compete with people who actually know how to dance or I'd be moving like a lunatic making up my own dance moves on the spot.
Although I love James Brown ( he was an Icon!) am I the only one who sees the crowd he's singing to is mostly teens? "SEX MACHINE" to teens? too funny!
Time for a 70's Music Resurgence since majority of music today sucks. No creativity, no originality and nothing new to the table. At least let's have a JAMES BROWN TRIBUTE 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Come on now, it is quite clear! “Can’t pass the people can’t pass .. hit me” !!! It’s the Get on the good foot lyrics!! You should go and read it, it has a meaning with JB and his dancing
it was his standing ovation song lol and if tha audience was a lame crowd, he'd have a field day with them even today if he was still alive and with cell phones lol
That is not correct at all bro the two bassists are David waston and Charles sherrell and the guitarist is the original Jimmy Nolen. Bootsy and his brother had already left in 1971 and this vid is 76
He has TWO Bass players.... what a groooove....... !!!
So did Ned's Atomic Dustbin.
In 1974, I saw James Brown perform this song live
How it was?
Your life has a meaning
Glad this about you now
@@MisterLoguna
I'm so sad you didn't get to see him you can cry on my shoulder
@@MisterLogunaI guess you didn't have very much fun in 1974😢
That audience don't realized what greatness they just witness, but we all know. R.I.P. Godfather of soul.
The most important artist of all times.

With JB, the response/reception to the music was just as important as the performance of the music--maybe more so!
What a superb drumming.. holy shit!!!
The late great Melvin Parker!!🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
GOOD GOD 😮

I find it a real mystery why bands today don't come out with music like this...😯
At least bring out some HORNS 😁✌
I'm older guitar player but I play this stuff when I find the right musician that know how to just let the groove take over.
They do, check out Daptone Records & Colemine Records. They are full of artists releasing soul and funk.
I feel good!

Fantástico o arranjo musical, tipo discoteca, bem antes da época...
I can never see James Brown perform without thinking of Eddie Murphy's parody on SNL. That was so damn funny.
😂😂😂😂
I didn’t even know who he was before the “James Brown Celebrity Hot Tub Party” skit.
Prime James brown best version of him

Like a locomotive!
Bootsy Collins play the bass 🤩
That girl dancing with Brown is very cute

Elaine Bennis school of dance ?
@@bak-mariterry5180 Well, I can keep a beat so at least it wouldn't be totally random.
Looking for Bootsy but wait a minute... 2 bass players?!? Used to seeing J.B with 2 or even 3 drummers but 2 bass players! Anyone know who they are?
Sweet Charles sherrell in the front and David Weston up top
Can someone invent a time machine?
TWO BASSISTS!!!
I’m white and James Brown is my Elvis 🙌🙏

@@blakedmc1989HD exactly, he shouldn't have to ask them to stand!

JB would be cancelled today. I say we should agree.. ENOUGH with the WOKE BS. Let's go back to this.. Life was Fun.
How brain rotted do you have to be to see a performance from _James Brown_ and go "how can I make this about woke" lmao
Da bombay! The Godfather was so funken funky, he had not one but TWO bass players in his band!
JAMES BROWN WASNT FUNKY, HE WAS FUNK ❤
...2 bass players..one on left is 22 year old bootsy collins..the guitar player is his brother catfish...the original JB's.....
