    Robin Williams was such an comedic inspiration to me. What a tragic loss. May we learn more about about mental depression and combat it with help from above.

    I miss hiim everyday. Whenever I am depressed, I try to find something new on youtube and it makes me smile. You can see the difference in him from 2012 and 2013. He lost weight and he never used his left hand. Even in his series The Crazy Ones - you can see it. I wish someone stayed with him, even just in the house. His wife should not have left him alone. He will always be in my heart.

    Robin Williams complained of "Bicentinial Man" not doing so well. Personally that is one of my FAVORITES and my Kids!!! I wish Robin was still here. Our world NEEDS a Man like that. Above all that~~at least we got to have his Gifts while we did. I miss him like I miss one of my own family members. He's been such a bonus to EVERYONE. (He might be "up there" right now making my brother laugh) No doubt!! That's a comfort!

    I'm sure every talk show host who booked Robin knew they would have to cede control to him and let him go. RIP.

    okay, I completely lost it at "Australia...all the animals are there it's Darwin's waiting room..." the best thing is just the imagination he provokes and creates in your mind, like it's not just some basic pun, or technical criticism, or political/sociological commentary, or base sexual humor -- it's me spending almost 10 minutes cracking up imagining what's going on in "Darwin's Waiting Room" He was just a genius dedicated to doing nothing but making you laugh with total authenticity, no matter who you are. And geniuses have suffered from their own struggles since ancient times. Robin, I hope you know how much you made all of us laugh, and THANK YOU FOR THESE VIDEOS BEING ARCHIVED - PLEASE NEVER TAKE THEM DOWN.

      The ironic thing is there is a city in Australia named after Darwin lol

      Robin was such a spontaneous and brilliant mind.

    This is why the suicide was so shocking. Look at this; joking, laughing, moving around nonstop, a mile a minute -- full of ridiculous energy that would tire out a man half his age.
    I know clinical depression is common among comics, but I'll just never understand it.

    • @logic7374
      @logic7374 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well you said it not me, you don't understand. People who have depression don't look depressed. They have too much pride to let someone know they have depression Laughing and joking is something you even do more when you are depressed.

    • @JoshLavian
      @JoshLavian 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Josh Perhaps, but it's also something you do when you're not depressed, so it naturally came as a surprise.

    • @AnneLiesveld
      @AnneLiesveld 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Lavian I agree and I think a lot of it is depression I don't think looks like "sadness and despair" it looks like a guy totally looking ok with himself but never feeling good enough for his family or his wife (or ex-wives) or co-workers or fans) It is funny because you say something about he seems so happy you can hardly see him as not (or the effect was that in your comment) but it is funny because I keep bringing up a comment that I saw his "wife" on Mrs. Doubtfire said that showed him to be as confident in himself as he could possibly be at being as joyful as you see him here and yet she (Sally Field) supposedly said that Robin was unable to make her laugh in the real world in the green room of their set or wherever for instance. I doubt it means she thinks he isn't funny or whatever she just maintained I am guessing a professional front and managed to stay confident in her reaction etc. It just struck me as odd because Robin seemed so needing to be "always and entirely on" that it is like the one time he "was on" and wasn't appreciated it supposedly like infuriated him or something I forget the word she used but it was like OMG. That sounds like bipolar depression mix of someone who was like incapable of thinking of himself as not funny because he wasn't wanting to be the opposite. Am I overthinking that quote?

    • @Shadownumber206
      @Shadownumber206 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't understand it either. The main thoery that's been going around was that he had Parkinson's, and didn't want to succumb to that.

    • @JoshLavian
      @JoshLavian 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** That makes somewhat more sense, but I've read and heard that he suffered from depression for many years. I read that in the lead up to his suicide, he slept most of the day and didn't have any energy. That is depression. What he shows in this video, I think a depressed person would be very hard-pressed to pull off.
      I could be completely wrong, of course, but I don't speak from complete inexperience, and if he was just putting on a show, that just speaks further to his talent. There are plenty of depressed comics, but they're not energetic and wild and nonstop like he was here (and most of his career).
