XH2S user here. I've had a great experience using this camera (coming from XT3). The 4K120 you'd mentioned is one of my most used features! I think it has great purpose in "slider" shots on a gimbal. I've used my XH2S with the current firmware and have been surprised to see so many problems out there regarding AF- mine hasn't been perfect, but definitely not poor like much of TH-cam suggests. Looking forward to the new GFX Eterna as I have seen some limitations that the APSC sensors have when compared to larger sensors.
Nice discussion, Jay. I have the X-S20 and the X-T5. Waiting on the update in November to evaluate AF. I actually downgraded my X-T5 to 2.10 for now. If Fujifilm misses in November, there will be a flood of gear on the market, I fear. Personally, I love using my Fuji cameras. I love the colors, the form factor, and the recipes. There’s a nice selection of lenses as well. I do think quite a bit about returning to FF again.
I think Nikon Z6III could be a good alternative if Fuji don't fixes the AF. And you can adapt your Fuji lenses on Nikon bodies full AF with the Boryoza adapter
I have my H2s since 2022 and will not sell it instead of changing to a Pro4/5 or H3s or perhaps a T6s with Stacked Sensor. No issues with AF here, because I do not film. November will bring hopefully a good upgrade for videographers.
Nice video man. I shoot Fuji (XT5) and I shoot Lumix (S5ii/X + S9) and I love both of em. I use em for different things but, if you go Lumix...you will NOT regret it.
What would you want in the XH3s? I would love a much smaller version. I have the XS20 but - it would be the dream to have a XH3s in that size. I also would like a higher quality build / metal etc
I’m waiting for the new firmware update supposed to be coming out for the XH2S and if the AF still wonky then I’ll consider selling it and buying the Nikon Z6iii since I have 4 CFb cards I can use with it.
@@oregonducI'm thinking 50 1.4 and 28-75 for me. But I'm still hopeful for the Nov XH2s FW update. The AF tracking is good enough for my current work. But if I do go full frame, that Z6iii is enticing.
@ yeah right now just anxious and nervous for that update. I’m flying to Japan this week so I won’t have the new firmware for this trip so I’m bringing my back up camera Sony a7r3 with me too.
Sold my XH2 and a bunch of lenses already. With the newest firmware "update" now, it's probably time to sell the XH2s and the rest of the lenses too, as "good enough" remains their benchmark and they won't solve their AF issues. They're mote interested in profitability, saving money on R&D.
Got similar setup as you. Just got rid of the sigma and experimenting with LUMIX. Had every Fuji since xpro1 and now xh2s and almos done with Fuji, one more chance with autofocua
Because I shoot weddings I could no longer rely on the xh2s for wedding work. Sold it all and went all in on the s5iix. Theres a lot I miss about the xh2s and there’s a lot I could say about both cameras, but I will say this- I don’t regret switching at all. What I DO regret is not budgeting to have a little Fuji- say xt50 or xm5- to have on the side. The Panasonic image is just superior to me and reminds me of my pocket4k- but the Fuji has just a little bit of juice to make it stand out from the crowd!!
Thank you for your thoughts! I own the XH2 and the XH2s, a great combination. Gripes on the autofocus? Yes, of course, but not enough to switch to a heavier full frame system of another brand. Just shooting stills, by the way. I chose the Fuji system because they are producing premium cameras for the crop sensor, at all other camera companies you get only medium level bodies. Yes, still better autofocus there, but great EVF, screen, pre burst, high fps, and so many other options are missing. So the weight saving with great image quality was my main reason for getting invested in Fuji.
So, I bought the X-S20 a few months ago while in Thailand. Literally used it there to get a bunch of shots. Then went into the edit and realized that half the shots were out of focus, and almost all were SO SHAKY like it’s 10 years ago out of the sudden. I imagine this to be similar with the XH2/s, and I have to be honest, the camera has been a paperweight since I came back from Thailand. I used it once more to try to take some photos, and while it was better, there were still blurry ones in there too. Even for thumbnails I tried taking. On the other side, I also have a Sony ZV-E1 and an A7Siii - in both of them I have NEVER thought about the auto focus even. Fujifilm is light years away from it unfortunately. Canon also not that great anymore. LUMIX I hear is currently the closest, and gives you a lot of the same benefits that you get on the Fuji systems. Including film simulations even, through LUTs, and open gate recording. I love my X-100VI, but for video… absolutely not. Despite loving the colors.
I'm done with Fuji… I really tried to keep my love alive but I can't do it anymore. I don't have a backup camera and would like to tinally work professionally on photos and videos. Now it's a decision between the A7IV or the S5IX.
I miss having a compact, reliable, and fast hybrid camera like my old Fuji X-H2S. While the FX3 is incredible for video work, it falls short when it comes to photography, making it hard to meet all my creative needs in one camera. I’m now considering the A7 IV for photos, but Sony’s system feels so heavy compared to Fuji’s. Letting go of the X-H2S for the FX3 was a tough call, and I’m starting to feel the loss of that versatility and convenience
@@kevin-sj3wt The X-H2S was reliable enough for my work, and its size was perfect-not too bulky but still powerful. Compared to Sony gear, it's significantly lighter and much easier to handle.
Still got or thinking about buying the XH2s? Let me know your thoughts about this camera!

I actually just sold the XH2s for the XT3. I love the 26mpx for work, and my clients don’t need 6k. I usually deliver 1080p.
i have kepy tmy xt3 too,, its great
Kept my XT3 when I upgraded to XH2s. 1080p shot at 200Mbps is plenty of detail.
Xh2s has the same 26mpx as the XT-3. Only the Fuji XT-5 and Xh2 have 40MP
