Trendy is fine for some people, especially when you're younger. But for mid-30's and up, classic pieces will never go out of style. I learned from my grandmother when I was little that if you invest in timeless pieces, you'll never look outdated.

Trends definitely come and go, but as a 31 year-old woman, I now adhere to the principle of “I will only wear comfortable clothing.” Whether that’s a skinny jean, a straight jean, a legging, a jogger, whatever it is…if it makes YOU feel good, wear it.

So do I. Being a senior an on the small size, I love leggings and sweat shirts. I can wear comfortable boots in the winter or tennis shoes. In summer it's shorts an a nice t shirt, sandals or cute flip flops. Dressy clothes are for important outings only. I buy most clothes on clearance right now winter clothes are on sale. Still enough cool weather left to start wearing them now. Designer purses are for the rich or those who aren't but will put a 500 dollar purse or more on a credit card with 28% interest. No thanks. I luck up at salvation army and found many in great condition. Usually older women volunteer, an have no idea of these styles. But are wising up,especially Goodwill, a place I never shop at anymore. All these TH-cam videos of flipping has Goodwill taking a closer look at everything coming in,an are rising the prices to where if it's something you been looking for is a descent price, but not enough of a deal to flip. Yard sales are becoming the same. Seems people are checking to see the prices on these sites to see what it's selling for like on ebay etc. Prices will be lower a little. Still not worth it if you're trying to resell.

I wore everything they are are wearing in Jr High or high school and it's hard to want to go fully back to that. I try to stay classic with a few trendy bits here and there. And the flared leggings were cool when my kids were little. Now I have to start wearing them again? 😂

I’ve hated “bell bottoms” since I was a little kid in the 60-70s. I’ve bought one or two pairs of bootcut jeans over the years, but that’s it. I despise looking down my legs and seeing so much fabric at the bottom. I actually don’t mind the look on others, just not for me. As long the person and clothes are clean and not a distraction, no one should care what style anyone else is wearing. I also hate when articles and videos like this try and tell older women that they shouldn’t wear capris anymore. People would probably rather us wear capris in summer than shorts, lol.

I remember when flares were in and when they left I really missed them. I was on board with the skinny jeans too, but I really missed my flares. I thought they balanced the body, giving you an hourglass kind of shape? Whereas, with skinny's, I always felt I needed to wear some slouchy boots with some width to them, only other shoe I liked on me with skinny's were ballet flats or sandals. I am also 5'2" but I guess I have very long legs, so flares look pretty good on me.

I’ve been a yoga teacher for decades and those flailed legging were in style a decade ago. Super cute but stupid unless you want half of your pants flopping around rolling up and getting floor dirty when you work out.
I was actually sad getting rid of them because they look good on my body shape but I’m not repeating them.
Or giving up skinny jeans, or tossing anything classically expensive and wearable for decades. Ignore trends. If you invest in actual design there isn’t an out, just different ways of styling them.
It’s like buying a Hermes scarf just to replace the design and color for a trend. That scarf will be a passable to your grandkids keeper.
Most of these make sense though.

As a gen-z I avoid it not because it's out of style but because it makes my body type so un-even, but for girls with even body types they should definitely take advantage of the skinny jeans because they look gorgeous in them.

You are 18 and have the opportunity to be a leader when it comes to influencing your peers into not giving a crap about trends and wearing what you want and not wasting precious resources of material goods and money that can be better put towards accumulating real and enduring assets such as financing an education. Money doesn't slip away. It is spent dollar by dollar and what it is spent on, beyond the basics, is a choice. Don't accept being labeled generation Z- that is just another marketing ploy meant to alienate us. And anyone who wants to can wear leggings with low socks.

Yeah, I don’t really think it’s better. I have a generic cup my company gave everyone as a Christmas present last year with our company logo on it, and it works great! Even if the stanley did keep ice intact for longer, it doesn’t really matter because I would drink my water faster than 24 hours or however long it’s suppose to keep your drink cold. Who makes a cup of water and doesn’t drink it all within 24 hours before having to refill it anyway?

I think that leopard print is never completely out of style. A classic, understated leopard print piece can still have a place in the wardrobe, just not all of the leopard cardigans and styles that are outdated. I love a good leopard print belt or coat in a classic, high quality style.

I just watched videos on how to style baggy leopard pants & trousers earlier today, after I was (sadly) influenced to desire a pair by multiple “on trend for spring 2024 articles”, and by this exceptionally stylish content creator who styled baggy leopard jeans so well. Back in December before realizing that it was an emerging trend, I encouraged my sister to thrift a leopard cardigan we found, reasoning that it is a timeless print 😅. Stays in the closet

Leopard/Cheetah print is a classic, like black and white. Unfortunately it gets overused, and cheapened with every computer generation of the pattern used for too many items, too many times, in too many weird colors. Each generation of fashionistas/influencers thinks they "invented'" it. I'm 65 (2024), and have a figure skating dress my mom made for me when I was five-years-old that's made of classic white wool with a totally natty pleated skirt, and a freaking adorable faux-leopard print collar (yes, they made that fabric way back then). It's accessorized with a string tie with leopard print balls finials. it was an immediate classic, and is today. However, I do not fit into anymore. Long live/love leopard print! Just go easy on it.

A grooming consultant, I have always advised my clients to avoid trends but to maintain a look that suits them, be comfortable and happy about it. That’s confidence. Nothing wrong with a little up to date with trends but they must look good in it. Trends are gone in a while and can be costly too.
For me, the skinny leggings will always be in for yours truly as it’s just too comfy to drop it and I look taller vs a flared pants although it is really elegant, however need to wear heels for a taller look 😅🤣

Yesss! I was just talking about that! I am 5’1 and flares have always been more flattering on my body type, BUT it was tricky for me because everything was too long unless the designer made a special short or petite version of the pant. I was mentioning how scary it would be getting the pant hemmed because if it was off just half as inch too short, they looked like flood ankle pants. Pretty hard to find the short version of pants too. Also, hemming pants made the pant look different than what the designer intended because the opening winds up being smaller. That’s why the petite cut is so much better because you get to keep the full flare!

My Golden Goose had no break-in period, and were comfy right out of the box. Also, they are a dressy option for those of us with bad backs that can’t wear heels. I absolutely love mine.

Not giving up my well curated silver and gold Pandora bracelets. Mine do not resemble typical charm bracelets. I still also think leopard print in small touches is fine. I have one in a soft tee shirt style that looks great and another in a very small tiny print blouse with puffy sleeves but thats it.

Absolutely. I think that people just got so used to skinny jeans that they don't notice anymore that it does not look good on most people.

So true! skinny jeans look good on very few people, but I don’t think people really care how they look. It’s all about, what I like. Most people don’t care about looking put together or classy like in the past.

Well, fashion/trend comes and goes, also the marketing to get you buy new things.
I'll stick to what complement my body because that is what matter most to me.
The stainless Stanley cup isn't for me. I have too sensitive sensory with taste. Do you know mybkr class cup and bottle? That is what I standby.
    Thanks for this update.

I’ve been in flares yoga pants for years. As for the Pandora bracelet, that style has been around 2 decades and I don’t see it going away. Maybe people that care what others think may not get them but folks that think for themselves won’t be bothered by most of these.

This is actually very funny - so many people (influencers, youtubers etc.) state that skinny jeans are totally out year after year but they really are not 😁 Especially 2024, so many top designers included them in their runways recently. I personally don't care about trends that much but I can see that skinny jeans are not going anywhere, it's kind of a classic at the moment and it is noticeably coming back, it's just necessary to do a proper and trendy styling.

I just love watching you and Brittany. Somehow I get a lot of young people in my feed and they are always bright and cheerful, it makes me happy and I have bought for my girls. I bought the blanket you recommended for XMAS. I had to buy 2 more for the kids. They all liked it. I like learning about other things and it helps me stay a bit current. I’m a grandmother and I still love the Floral Paisley designs of the 60’s. So pretty and feminine. Sexy wasn’t back yet. Anyway, thank you for helping me smile.

So glad that the curled hair with the straight ends is out because I could never curl my hair that way lol.......My friend works at a popular retailer so I bought a pair of the wide leg jeans which I like but when I walked to my car, I noticed every one was wearing skinny jeans. 😂 I live in a big city but fashion seems to be decades behind.
