I know you didn't speak about them in this video but a video focused on Mamelodi Sundowns' dominance as well as their owner being a sponsor of the South African league as well as the division below being named after him and him being involved with FIFA seems like such a Alfie topic to delve into.

I guess that the worst example in all sports is Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israeli basketball league. They won 55 of 68 titles. Including 23 in a row. In the last decade they weren't champions a few times, but it's just because the championship is decided in a final-four where they can surprisingly lose a single game. Maccabi Tel-Aviv allowed this because their place in Euroleague is guaranteed, no matter how they will perform in a domestic league
@mashiah1 I think, the most boring sports league in the world is the Women-Handball League of Austria, where Hypo Niederösterreich have won 42 Championship-Titles in a row (1977 - 2018) and again 2 Titles in a row (2021 - 2022). WAT Atzgersdorf sensationally dethroned Hypo Niederösterreich in the 2019 final - one of the biggest sports sensations in Austrian sport. In 2020 the league was canceled due to Covid-19. The third winner is Union Admira Landhaus, who won the first five championships from 1972 - 1976 before Hypo Niederösterreich won their first championship title. Hypo has also won the Handball Women's Champions League 8x + 2 smaller European Cups (last in 2013).
@@Adrian-yj8rx Thankfully they've scaled back their investment and they're no longer the world selection team. That amount of dominance is unhealthy for everyone, plus Gunnar Prokopp is a terrible human being. I don't know why would he have a women's handball team as a proud sexist and mysogynist? I still remember when he walked onto the court against Metz in the last seconds to stop a French counterattack and prevent the winning goal, then he just grinned and laughed at how horribly unsportsmanlike he was.
Honorable mention to HJK from Finland. A record six straight league titles from 2009 to 2014, and five of the last six Finnish titles. Over 30 titles in total and no other club has even ten.
Skonto Riga should be on this list even though the team has been disbanded. They hold the European record for most consecutive domestic title wins at 14 (1991- 2004 ). Ludogorets are 3 wins and Bayern 4 wins from tying their record.

Hello Alfie, You probably won't see this but really enjoyed seeing my team Auckland City in your video. Would love to see a full vid on the New Zealand national league and the system.
As a New Zealander who is involved with the National League, Auckland City are actually an amateur club but have been paying their players as a semi professional club, it’s been a massive scandal over here since every club that qualified and played in the national league is a full on club, where as Auckland City is a franchise which took over another local club which they had a MOU with for the last 12 years, which started from using the same facilities
@@realtalk6195 polar opposite actually, they’re paying them at the rate of semi professionals, training them as semi professionals whilst also “signing” absolutely anyone from their rivals to play for them. Their 2nd choice starting 11 is good enough to win the national league also, that’s how much they do it
@@P3TER_Official23 we don’t have the sustainable footballing culture. Whilst football is the most played sport, it’s mainly through the ages of 5-13. Our lack of a footballing culture ruins it as there is no real football passionate group for arguably our 1 professional team in the Australian A-League. NZ is very much rugby focused, so it makes viewing numbers for football much lower and there’s nowhere near as much money than in rugby

Surely as the dominant team in Tuvulu, Nauti FC had a few internationals in their team when the national team entered the league and won it at their expense.
Make a video about 7 teams with the most consecutive titles in a row(like Bayern or Ludogorets). It´s one thing to win like 22 out of 25 titles or so, but it is completely different when you are winning them in a row without stoppage. So I would be glad to see who are the 7 clubs with most in a row titles(not only now, but for the whole football history). Like, is there a club that have won 20 or more in a row and so on.
There's a whole list of the most consecutive champions on the RSSSF site. Its Vanuatu's Tafea FC. Won the league for 15 consecutive seasons. And then there's Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar and Skonto from Latvia who won their league for 14 consecutive seasons.
"The obvious example, that comes to mind, is Uruguay"... which is why we all love this channel, no one else would have thought about a minor South American league...
Need a video about Ligue 1 this season, the sudden rise of Toulouse and reims , lille and lorient suddenly fighting for the top spots and stade rennais with their insane team , also a la Liga video would be great with former champions league spots' contenders Sevilla , Valencia and getafe all relegation threatened , and the amazing rise of real sociedad , Mallorca and rayo vallecano and the extreme consistency of osasuna
Might sound odd, but it was really interesting to see a Malawian club. Even if it is a team I’m not particularly fond of (I support their rivals). Great content as always Alfie!
This video deserves a like just for the pronunciation of the word Dinamo. Now that that is finally sorted, please make a documentary about Dinamo Bucharest.
FM safe ideas: 1. Make one of these teams dominate Europe too, bringing along other teams in their country too in the long term. Or 2. Pick another club in any of these leagues that are unlikely to win, and try to become the new dominant force giving the current one the boot. Maybe you can even do all 7 leagues in 1 safe with this idea and set some rule like winning each league twice
To save you from the tounge twisting name, Major General Tunku Ismail Idris Abdul Majid AbuBakar Iskandar ibni Tunku Ibrahim Ismail is more known as TMJ (Tunku Mahkota Johor) in Johor
I mean it fits the subject of the video, Bayern have dominated so much that it is their trophy before the season starts, dont gotta like it but its true 10/10 speaks volumes, no other team in the top 6 have dominated their league that much, not even Man City and the premier league.
I know this doesn't count since it's technically two clubs. But it is frankly ridiculous how for almost 40 years Scotland has only had the 'Old Firm'. Either Celtic or Rangers have won the League title in Scotland since the mid-1980's. The last time a team other than Celtic and Rangers won the league was the Alex Ferguson led Aberdeen team in 1985. Scottish club football is fundamentally broken, and yet no one in the SFA does anything.
could go further and say that its a 1 team leauge now Rangers are in "no mans land" 10+ points behind celtic 20+ points above Hearts/Aberdeen every season bar the covid one and Celtic are on there way to straight UCL qualifications for a few years
Johor Darul Ta'Azim - Pretty sure your financials are miles out. The Royals are far richer than you mentioned. They own huge swathes of Singapore and all of Johor. The stadium is rather nice, I have been there (I'm a Brit living in Johor BTW) - The support of the Royal Family has been great for the team and has seen crowds and interest grow massively. There has been a massive investment in stadium, training facilities etc. However, I do feel that without some real domestic competition, things will become rather stale, unless of course they can start making serious waves in the AFC Asian Cup. (The Asian version of the European Champions League).
I think the problem why other Malaysia club can't beat JDT is because JDT is being properly rebuild from the ground up while only in the last few years, other clubs tried to follow JDT's footsteps. Some clubs failed horribly like Perlis FC. Unfortunately, all other clubs only have one target; beat JDT. Beating JDT is easy, but to stay consistent at the top, that's the hard part.
I agree although JDT may have success domestically however on the Asian Champions League stage they are a mere participant. They will need to gain some success(not saying it will be easy) and make their name known to the rest of the world
I've recently watched a video about the least visited country in the world which is Tuvalu and read about how the country is in danger of becoming inhabitable, never expected it to feature in a hitc sevens video or maybe you'd expect nothing less from Alfie
Sundowns here in SA (also video suggestion) they're about to win the League for the 6th year in a row (23 points ahead of everyone) they're about to win their 8th title in 10 years have I think double the league titles of anyone since the league formed in 94 and are probably one of the richest clubs in Africa
Another one in the list will be Bashundhara Kings of Bangladesh. Even tho they're very new and the BPL(Football League of Bangladesh) ain't really that old, they're just ruling every single competition held in the country in the last few yrs. Ever since they entered the 1st division thru promotion, they have not finished a single season without being the table toppers. 🇧🇩
at @20:32 can we all just take a second to appreciate that the man on the front row is wearing crocs, and that this raises the issue that we can neither confirm nor deny if he actually plays in them...
Can't believe Forge FC didn't get even an honourable mention. They have won all but 1 League title in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE CANADIAN PREMIER LEAGUE!!! And the one season they didn't win, they still made the final... OK, there's only been 4 seasons, but still. Dominance personified.
Another interesting list would be clubs who formerly dominated their leagues like this, but have lost that status since. Examples would be Olympique Lyon in France, Rosenborg in Norway and BFC Dynamo in East Germany.
As a fan of Ferencváros, I think we should not be on the 7-team list along with teams who won like 10 in a row or around 80% of the titles in the league's history. As for the honourable mentions, we could possibly be there but still several of them are a level above Ferencváros considering their dominance. For example, there's Linfield with the world record for most domestic league titles, Al-Ahly with three times as many titles as the second most successful club, Lincoln Red Imps who won 19 of the last 21, Olympiakos who won 22 of the last 26 and has twice as many titles as the second most successful club, Esperance Tunis who won as many titles as the second, third, and fourth most successful club combined and has won 19 of the last 25. We "only" have 4 titles in a row (which will be 1 more this season but that's true for a lot of the teams here), and 10 more historically than the second most successful team. We would probably be on a list like this in a few years time, especially considering that both Bayern and Ludogorets could lose the title this season.
a documentary on the afc Wimbledon on the nine promotions in eleven years, how they’re a fan own club and how they have a stadium in plough lane now. It would be a good documentary video if you can do this. #thepeopleschannel
Are Rosenburg from Norway on here if not they should be they are the most successful club in Norwegian football and at one stage won 13 successful titles which is incredible dominance and I can remember them playing champions league football on a regular basis so they have a bit of European pedigree also
Lol I remember they drew with us (Chelsea) in the UCL. That was Mourinho’s last game in charge in his first spell. I think they fell off a bit in recently, but I remember they used to dominate
Keep up the good work!! Video idea: would love for you to cover lower division soccer in the USA! It's a rising market that far too few people are aware about
I would love to see video about all or maybe not all but most countries' classic rival games like Real barca, Borussia bayern, Lech Poznań legia warszawa, Celtic rangers
Speaking of Johor, go and have a look at their socials, it's filled with them licking their own asses about them having a indoor training facility, being a team to reach the semi final of the 2nd tier of continental football, and the restaurants they have at their stadium. No one can underestimate the level of commitment that TMJ has put into JDT, but maybe tone it down? They're a big fish in a small pond, the second they go to the continental cups they're just the underdog that can't get out of the group stages (until they did last year, which they also made into a fun fact, they got out of the group stage, revolutionary)
Always wondered why Germany never really had a strong team from Berlin that won trophies like most countries have a strong capital team like Lisbon,Madrid,Roma,Paris,London and Amsterdam etc but in Germany both union Berlin and hertha Berlin are just decent
@@looneylogic6479 Roman clubs have won trophies yes but they were always overshadowed by their Milan and Turin counterparts. And Paris is definitely not a football city, PSG's success is mostly due the copious amount of money put there by the Qataris. I think in Berlin's case it has more to do with the political history of the city. And Berlin, despite being a capital city, is a relatively poor one when compared to other big German cities. Let's not forget that aside from the western portion of the city, Berlin was effectively located well within the former East Germany.
As Malaysian football fan I really hope the other club will improve and follow JDT steps. I can't blame the club since they also improving as needed to win the league. It just the other club are sometimes hard to make changes and blaming JDT for everything.
It's a bit different with regards Germany, it's kind of expected for the second biggest club of all time to dominate a league i mean Barca the club closest to rivaling Bayern in size always lose to Bayern 90% or more of the time if Bayern were in laliga they'd take over Barca's spot and either come first or second every time depending on how they do against real Madrid
As a Malaysian and also a Johorean which is a state that Johor Darul Takzim based on, I feel suprised and not suprised the club to be in the video. JDT already got their 10th title for the Super League. The nearest rivalry for JDT is either Kedah, Selangor or Terengganu for now. Last season, they never lost a match while this season, they only got one draw on the entire season. Maybe in the future, JDT will get all wins in a season and breaking another record in Malaysia and also international. Also, JDT also has a record of the most goals in a season last year internationally comparing top 3 of the most scorer of the club.

But what about the opposite? what are the 7 most competitive top tier football leagues in the world? :D
idk if its true, but the slogan for Brazil's league is "the most competitive league of the world"

France used to have a very competitive league before Olympique Lyon and later PSG got dominant. If you look at their champions lists before 2000 you see a different club every year, and while they have played 113 seasons so far, no club won more than 10 titles.

I’ve given in and finally subscribed because the sheer level of research and journalistic quality of yourself and this channel is almost unheard of in TH-cam Football content creation.
There are a lot of football channels that focus on the mainstream topics (and teams) of the game and are more about opinions rather than research - to go this direction with your content deserves all kinds of recognition.
Alfie should do a video on the Antarctica fooball league and why there hasn't been a champion or match played there in decades....
Idea for video: whats going on at Zurich. they are reigning Swizz champions and are currently sitting bottom of the league a bit over half way through the season
I know you didn't speak about them in this video but a video focused on Mamelodi Sundowns' dominance as well as their owner being a sponsor of the South African league as well as the division below being named after him and him being involved with FIFA seems like such a Alfie topic to delve into.
lol same thing Khoza did being chairman of pirates, psl and also vice president of safa 😅
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 458)
I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.
If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.

@mashiah1
I think, the most boring sports league in the world is the Women-Handball League of Austria, where Hypo Niederösterreich have won 42 Championship-Titles in a row (1977 - 2018) and again 2 Titles in a row (2021 - 2022).

You should unirionically do a video on the Guatemalan division. Alot of history.

The weird thing about Bayern is that half the time, they aren’t top at Christmas then they steamroll the league is the second half of the season
Best video yet, always looking forward to clips mentioning ludogorets!!! The whole video about Ludogorets was really bad and big chunks of the information were wrong but this one is gold

@Naz & Akane y'all malaysians are a different level of embarassment💀💀 all of your insults are "noob"😂
So what you're saying is that they're beating other clubs while paying less to their players?
@@realtalk6195 polar opposite actually, they’re paying them at the rate of semi professionals, training them as semi professionals whilst also “signing” absolutely anyone from their rivals to play for them. Their 2nd choice starting 11 is good enough to win the national league also, that’s how much they do it
Why doesn't New Zealand has a professional league?
@@P3TER_Official23 we don’t have the sustainable footballing culture. Whilst football is the most played sport, it’s mainly through the ages of 5-13. Our lack of a footballing culture ruins it as there is no real football passionate group for arguably our 1 professional team in the Australian A-League. NZ is very much rugby focused, so it makes viewing numbers for football much lower and there’s nowhere near as much money than in rugby
I lived in johor, that stadium was always filled to the brim. Though terrible seating. There were people standing everywhere, because they let in more people than the capacity was available.

Johor Darul Takzim became the Malaysian PSG since tengku ismail (Johor prince) arrival
Johor FC changed the badge and name from an average joe into Malaysian PSG
I'd be interested in seeing a video about the leagues that are the most competitively balanced.
Of the top of my head, the Swedish league would be on there.
MLS in the United States and the A League in Australia would be in there
Brazilian league is one for sure and in Europe Polish, Swedish and English leagues have all produced 5 different winners in the last 10 years.
Surely as the dominant team in Tuvulu, Nauti FC had a few internationals in their team when the national team entered the league and won it at their expense.
most informative football channel BY FAR
This is an interesting video and the introduction of Nauti from Tuvalu is quite a fascinating one, good friends!!!:-D

Or don’t pick a club to start with and sim till summer to take over a club for an even harder challenge ;)
To save you from the tounge twisting name,

English football fans can’t go a year without complaining about Bayern, what FCB did to arsenal,Chelsea and Tottenham in the CL broke them
I mean it fits the subject of the video, Bayern have dominated so much that it is their trophy before the season starts, dont gotta like it but its true 10/10 speaks volumes, no other team in the top 6 have dominated their league that much, not even Man City and the premier league.
Scottish club football is fundamentally broken, and yet no one in the SFA does anything.
could go further and say that its a 1 team leauge now Rangers are in "no mans land" 10+ points behind celtic 20+ points above Hearts/Aberdeen every season bar the covid one and Celtic are on there way to straight UCL qualifications for a few years
That’s why Rangers and Celtic should have been part of the EPL many years ago.
Ill watch the championship now
Johor Darul Ta'Azim - Pretty sure your financials are miles out.
They will need to gain some success(not saying it will be easy) and make their name known to the rest of the world
Unfortunately JDT raised their bar too high that no other teams can catch them. Making Malaysia football to be boring
@@Blueflag04 Then other team needs to evolve. Can't expect JDT to downgrade themselves.

Sundowns here in SA (also video suggestion) they're about to win the League for the 6th year in a row (23 points ahead of everyone) they're about to win their 8th title in 10 years have I think double the league titles of anyone since the league formed in 94 and are probably one of the richest clubs in Africa

Another interesting list would be clubs who formerly dominated their leagues like this, but have lost that status since. Examples would be Olympique Lyon in France, Rosenborg in Norway and BFC Dynamo in East Germany.
Fantastic video, but its a shame that FTC (Ferencvárosi Torna Club) is not on the list, and not even got a place in the honourable mention list.

In South Africa its been dominated by Sundowns, they have won 7 successive league titles, have won the league 12x since its inception in 1996
Olympiacos is also a shout, they're by far the most dominant club in Greece
Alfiw gave them an honorable menton
Are Rosenburg from Norway on here if not they should be they are the most successful club in Norwegian football and at one stage won 13 successful titles which is incredible dominance and I can remember them playing champions league football on a regular basis so they have a bit of European pedigree also
Lol I remember they drew with us (Chelsea) in the UCL. That was Mourinho’s last game in charge in his first spell. I think they fell off a bit in recently, but I remember they used to dominate

@Charles Bayern have Barca's number

Damn 3 divisions in tuvalu, do they juet force the entire island to play?
