    I have to buy a new 230mm grinder and I am very disappointed that I cant get an x lock one, I love the idea of the fast change but also I assume the disks will not jamb on when it gets pinched, I have lost 2 grinders to pinching and then destroying the lock pin/ gear box by putting to much preasure on it trying to get the nut off, x lock is worth it for that alone if it eliminates the problem.

    Finally found my answer:
    P = Paddle switch (deadman switch, need to hold down)
    S = Speed control (3 speed options) (on -15 biturbo you have 6m which can be customised)
    C = Connectivity (bluetooth with your phone)
    GWS = Standard (non x-lock)
    GWX = X-lock version
    -7, -10, -15 = 700W, 1000W, 1500W

    I love Bosch. My first serious powertool is a Bosch corded jigsaw. Smooth as butter. Also have the Bosch 1617 router

    do all the xlock models have the e brake feature where they all stop spinning in less than 1 second? or just some models labeled e brake?

    The problem with X-Lock is finding cheap the accessories (discs, brushes etc). X-Lock discs are very expensive compared to the old style M14 screw type. To add insult to injury I bought an adapter to convert x-lock to M14 only to find out that the spindle does not lock. So you cannot tighten the flange to hold the disc.
    My verdict, good idea bad practically.

      I think the real problem with x-lock is that you never switch the discs so frequently that the time spent doing it was important (as this is the main selling point), like i would rather have 3 separate angle grinders for cutting, grinding, and polishing. Also their x-lock angle grinders are substantially more expensive, the only positive things i can think of is that you can't lose the flange nut while changing the discs and can't destroy your gear/gear housing if you accidentally lock the spindle while it is running.

    Do u sell a 3m roloc adapter for x lock system. I currently have m14 ones is this something u will be bringing out as the roloc attachments are quute popular.

      its not a game changer.
      You need a cupwheel really bad.
      Plus, although 9inch are banned at modern job sites, they are needed.

    Love the X-lock system but speaking from a retailer perspective, we need one major missing accessory - strip discs. Strip discs make up maybe only 1% of all sales by dollar value. Could even be less. But when you need a strip disc, you NEED a strip disc. A flap wheel will not do. A grinding wheel will not do. And so on. Bosch needs to get some strip discs for X-lock onto the market (I'm in Canada) for these machines to start moving along better because right now if a customer buys an X-lock grinder, they have to buy a second grinder just for that occasional time when a strip disc is required. If strip discs are out there for X-lock and I've missed them, please let me know.

      I think the Bosch N377 disc is what you're looking for?
      Available in 115 & 125 mm diameters?

    Point to note - it is pointless having a spanner to release/tighten the disc when there is a quick release flange nut on the market. Silly comparison.

    Is there an adapter to use standard discs on x-lock?

    • @BoschProfessionalUK
      @BoschProfessionalUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In short no. Any adaptor would be likely pose an unacceptable point of weakness and defeat the many USPs of an X-LOCK system.

    Really stupid idea…it only takes Bosch Xlock products…no 14mm thread to take wire brushes etc…
    Pointless…won’t catch on
