It's good to see the rave scene never dies. Whatever happens in the world, raving will always stay! 1991 and 1992 was a good time to be alive too. Especially in the UK 🇬🇧 big respect to the ravers in Ukraine 🇺🇦
It doesnt matter how u look or how u act.. on a rave there is only one thing: the rave! Never stop it, goin harder, feel the people and the locations. Im proud of Ukraine that there is a subculture like this! 🦑🔥 Greetings from Germany (sorry 4 bad englisch)
In Deutschland haben wir die exakt gleiche Subkultur, ein paar Freunde gehen regelmäßig zu raves, schmeissen Teile und kleiden sich ähnlich wie die im Video
+Lena Alekseienko did you mean homophobia? but thats very informative. Ukraine is a beautiful beautiful place. I might just pursue a nomadic life style so i can live in many places
+Namratha Sri sorry, I meant actually both. In Kiev we have gay clubs and bars, and people go there to dance and I never hear about fights there or any troubles, Ukrainian much more open minded than you think
+Lena Alekseienko oh wow! thats very cool. It's weird hearing about ohter countries and not experiencing them. because it's easy to judge countries from what you've wheras you've never had first hand experience. Thank you for reminding me that everything isn't as it seems
That scene looks awesome and the music sounds great. They look silly acting hard, you don't have to be a bad ass to have fun.. Music is the real drug at the end of the day.
YES! This is like back in the fuckin' dizzay with warehouses and crumbling decay and illegal "we don't play nice with cops" attitude! FUCK YES!! And they play MY kind of rave music: Four on the Floor TECHNO with the particular flavour I most enjoy: HARD, DEEP and DARK AS FUCK! HI Can I hang with you guiz!?!?!?
*shrugs* As someone in their 40's with a face still full of steel, huge lobes, tongue split, covered in ink and a tendency to wear all black, I could care less what other people are wearing or not wearing. What I care about is VIBE, general attitude, the way people treat each other. What I care about is sick tunes. And in general, freedom, especially at events like this. Anything that can capture the spirit or essence of what I remember fondly as the wave of rave immediately following the warehouse Detroit scene that I got to personally experience makes me happy. But then, I have simple tastes, and am in general one of those easy to please, easy to gt along with types.
I guess, that no one needs drugs, when you have this beautiful music, and kind and caring people around you. It's sad, that you only can feel yourself free, and chilled, with drugs.
Well, you know, regarding Ukraine, it's not at all like in Iran, where people could go to jail for a long time for doing raves or playing some punk music. Some illegal(!) raves can bu shut down, some legal clubs can be raided for selling illegal drugs, sometimes police exceeds allowed force, which is very bad and people's attention is very sharp in that matter after Maidan. So this whole video -it a bit exaggerating thhe whole atmosphere to make this postap/cyberpunk/on the edge feeling, but its not what is really going on from my point of view.
sorry for the late answer everyone. but yeah i agree with you. it's really common for things to get exagerrated in this type of video. what I meant to say by rebellious youth is; youth that doesn't follow the mainstream culture of their country or youth that found a way to escape the unstable situation of their country.
"rebelious" is not very correct for these kids. These kids aren't taking care of the problems but running away from them, they're not rebuilding the country and they're not defending it. It's really just a deluded and cowardly escapism from problems that they create themselves.
I am coming from Ukraine myself! Although the older generation won't be able to recover from this revolution, it really warms my heart seeing this beautiful, talented young people creating their own world where everyone can be/express themselves! What a great piece of film this is! Molodzi rebyata, naslagdaites' vsem na zlo, 4to-bi ne prosixodilo!
Brilliant film.. Gritty and rugged, but imbued with hopeful silver linings. It's not really about "hipsters" it's about being free or at the very least, feeling like you are. Laundering your karma, embracing self-expression... to radical extremes in some cases. The harsh realities of the world we live in bathe us in negativity and socioeconomic oppression, sometimes it takes drastic measures to wash it off of ourselves, to liberate our souls and remind ourselves that it is our life to live, and to truly live... one must be free. In heart, mind, body, and soul. Electronic music, especially Psychedelic Trance, seems to take us back to more simple social concepts... ritual, ceremony... and party. People dancing, celebrating life, love and freedom... nothing wrong with that. It's actually been going on since.... the dawn of time. And to everyone with their negative bullshit comments, until you have lived with full on machine gun blaring mother fucking WAR in YOUR STREETS... you have nothing to say here. You can't possibly imagine. Just saying.
Guys, come to Georgia .The underground rave revolution is in full swing, here, in Tbilisi.Every day i read more and more western articles about the growing electro music micro-climate in Georgia. Clubs like Bassiani , which is located under a football arena in a abandoned swimming-pool and Khidi , which is a club inside of a bridge , are already talked about by the Berlin and Amsterdam underground communities. The whole thing has kinda Woodstock-ish feeling about it .Tbilisi became the epicenter of techno in the region. Come you won't be dissapointed.
I am from Eastern Europe , and i find this really sad.... the situation in almost every eastern country is similiar like this one... and the young ones suffer the most
When I listen to what they say about revolution it seems to me that they live in some kind of parallel reality. They really don't understand what happened and what is going on. All they know is their club, their style, skateboarding, music and drugs. I think it pointless to ask such people about processes in the country. They really don't care at all. Lost souls and lost minds.
True, but their point of view is also a point of view (maybe this is unfortunate). A good documentary never says what's good and what's not. It just shows things as they are. If ravers say nonsense things about consequences of the revolution - it is a fact that type of people tend to think so. Why do you think authors praise those young people making them white and clear? They don't!
This is an amazing piece of content. I just wonder if anybody know which type of colour correction value they use for this cinematic "feeling". Anybody know a nice tutorial about it?
Hey maybe I can help you a little bit, if you look closely, they mainly use a "cold" filter for the film and enhance the blue tones. Also important, to give everything a more softer look, they avoid showing 100% black colours. Almost like old polaroid photos. Sadly I can't provide you a tutorial video :(
Comparing to Ukraine nightclub culture of mid-2000's this is a decadence actually. Quite the same thing with Moscow nightlife: youngsters dancing to gabba and hardcore in a tracksuits, is it a big deal? Recycling 90's UK trends that way is rather kitch than renaissance, imo.
wow this made me very happy..I do admire how they found the escape, turning into something much more, building a new culture while surviving in harsh enviroments...bless those kids, keep on, good luck! ^_^
A documentary about underground rave without actually letting us hear the underground rave. good job.
mustis M best comment mate duley noted that also pissed me off and I'd imagine any other raver watching

Techno IS love! Techno IS life!!! Four on the Floor FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER!!!!!!!
From one fellow *raver* to another, I LOVE YOU GUYS! Hope to meet you all someday
2nd this. Love you guys PLUR from Florida
navarachi095 oh man plur is still a thing?! 😂 taking me back 10 years
It's good to see the rave scene never dies.
Greetings from Germany (sorry 4 bad englisch)
In Deutschland haben wir die exakt gleiche Subkultur, ein paar Freunde gehen regelmäßig zu raves, schmeissen Teile und kleiden sich ähnlich wie die im Video
More of Grace please
Oversimplified, overdramatized and slightly hipsterized piece. But not too bad.
it's amazing how fashion translates around the world...
Listening to electronic music, and dancing under the influence of narcotics doesn't make you a sociopolitical influencer
wow cheers gandhi
It's interesting to see how people handle depression and life struggles differently.
making rave parties does =P
Hahha you hit the point
Neither does 9-5 staring at a computer in an office, under the influence of coffee and nicotine, with alcohol, netflix and cnn for when you get home.
Glory to Ukraine!
I hope we can dance and fight through the music together guys soon!!! ❤❤❤
this was great. if it wasn't for all the intense homophobia in ukraine id totally love to live there
There is no racism in big cities, especially in Kiev . Just don't go to districts where you don't need to be and nothing bad will happen to you
+Lena Alekseienko did you mean homophobia? but thats very informative.
+Namratha Sri *from what you've heard
That scene looks awesome and the music sounds great. They look silly acting hard, you don't have to be a bad ass to have fun.. Music is the real drug at the end of the day.
Ukraine looks so beautiful !!
the cinematography of this video is insane
HI Can I hang with you guiz!?!?!?
back in the dizzay wasn´t hipster as fuck
*shrugs* As someone in their 40's with a face still full of steel, huge lobes, tongue split, covered in ink and a tendency to wear all black, I could care less what other people are wearing or not wearing. What I care about is VIBE, general attitude, the way people treat each other. What I care about is sick tunes. And in general, freedom, especially at events like this.
Anything that can capture the spirit or essence of what I remember fondly as the wave of rave immediately following the warehouse Detroit scene that I got to personally experience makes me happy. But then, I have simple tastes, and am in general one of those easy to please, easy to gt along with types.
nice one, man.
gawd that avatar so many throwbacks weird ha ha
yeas m8 true words spoken
8:44 yes mdma combined with morning sun is indeed beautiful :D
LOOKS LIKE AN AWESOME SCENE! gotta check it out if I ever visit
In the middle of war and chaos, true colors shine and positive vibrations spread and overcome the negative one`s.
what a legend with the iowa engineering shirt. 8:38
Too many drugs are used at these raves... I like that.
hell yea brother
Mdma
I guess, that no one needs drugs, when you have this beautiful music, and kind and caring people around you. It's sad, that you only can feel yourself free, and chilled, with drugs.
@@pszichomindenkinek ok but drugs
Being close to Holland can be great thing .
I bet they all listen to yung lean, and I fuck with that
check out his new album if you haven't yet, head2toe is insanely good
Baly sadboysss
SAD
$uicideboy$$ -- bones tho
lizzy p Gold drugs, gold lean even gold barsss.
this is really cool. maybe you should do more episodes about rebellious youth in countries that are facing political/economical turbulences.
or about those who practice some sort of subculture that is completely different from the culture of their country.
Not from there, but sounds spot on. Russia is the same way.
sorry for the late answer everyone. but yeah i agree with you. it's really common for things to get exagerrated in this type of video. what I meant to say by rebellious youth is; youth that doesn't follow the mainstream culture of their country or youth that found a way to escape the unstable situation of their country.
Molodzi rebyata, naslagdaites' vsem na zlo, 4to-bi ne prosixodilo!
the older generations from your country these things have existed for decades elsewhere
I already miss grace ...
me too y.y
same 😩😩
What happened to Grace?
grace is a g
She went back to her job as a tattoo artist
Guys, come to Georgia .The underground rave revolution is in full swing, here, in Tbilisi.Every day i read more and more western articles about the growing electro music micro-climate in Georgia. Clubs like Bassiani , which is located under a football arena in a abandoned swimming-pool and Khidi , which is a club inside of a bridge , are already talked about by the Berlin and Amsterdam underground communities. The whole thing has kinda Woodstock-ish feeling about it .Tbilisi became the epicenter of techno in the region. Come you won't be dissapointed.
we want grace neutral
I am from Eastern Europe , and i find this really sad.... the situation in almost every eastern country is similiar like this one... and the young ones suffer the most
As a Ukrainian I am incredibly happy to see that people are discovering real Ukraine and understanding how different it is
This is what we did during the Northern Ireland troubles!
Anja Huwe
They don't!
Young people partying and liking themselves with passion
OK
A revolution is something else

that guy at 0:36 was the best😂😂😂😂
This is an amazing piece of content. I just wonder if anybody know which type of colour correction value they use for this cinematic "feeling". Anybody know a nice tutorial about it?
Hey maybe I can help you a little bit, if you look closely, they mainly use a "cold" filter for the film and enhance the blue tones. Also important, to give everything a more softer look, they avoid showing 100% black colours. Almost like old polaroid photos. Sadly I can't provide you a tutorial video :(
+Janduny Thanks! was really helpful at least I have an idea what to look for.
Молодцы, мир всем

Comparing to Ukraine nightclub culture of mid-2000's this is a decadence actually. Quite the same thing with Moscow nightlife: youngsters dancing to gabba and hardcore in a tracksuits, is it a big deal? Recycling 90's UK trends that way is rather kitch than renaissance, imo.
Gabba and hardcore actually originates from the Netherlands
Gabber and hardcore are Dutch you bellend
2022 anyone? Praying for Ukraine 🇺🇦
wow this made me very happy..I do admire how they found the escape, turning into something much more, building a new culture while surviving in harsh enviroments...bless those kids, keep on, good luck! ^_^
I totally adore the video!! But guys, please know that life is much more than drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE TO YOU ALL
Nothing has changed in their style from the 90s, just that it has become hipster.
lol like there are no hipsters in US
I would not know, I'm not from the US.
JaHeiDu don't matter hipsters are everywhere
Yeah, i know. My point was not that there are only hipsters in Ukraine, my point was that the Gopnik/chav style has now become hipster.
wow man reminds me of my country back in 2000 would love to go to Kiev to party one day
Right thing to do. Create an alternative scene to the ultra conservatives.
Passed out. wake up. repeat. That's not an exit but scummy way of thinking.
I don't think that you are in the position to decide what others should or should not do.
EasyLee Did i even try?
+Bogdan your opinion expresses what you think? Duh 😂 stop hating and continue your "regular and perfect" life
You are so confident in describing my life. Fools will never change.
Amazing video and amazing story! Thank you, I really enjoyed it.
