- The Labour leader has told Chris Evans that he carves out time on a Friday to spend with his kids - so after 6pm he doesn't do anything work-related - pretty well come what may:
Well the Conservatives have picked up on this and said he would be a part-time Prime Minister and suggested that Angela Rayner would take over after 6pm.
Well this has been shared by other Conservatives Greg Hands has tweeted 'What if Putin attacks at 6.01pm?
And the health minister Maria Caulfield has this morning accused him of wanting to work a 4-day week.

Don't know who Marina is, but she's absolutely on the money here. Is this the level the party of government of the last 14 years is reduced to? Starmer never said he would clock off at 6pm and that would be it for the weekend. He simply said he values his family time on Friday and tries to make that possible, nothing wrong with that.

That Caulfield woman is a perfect example of someone trying to show how hard working they are. Well done. You give it all to your job. In my very humble opinion you should, as a professional person (if indeed you are), be able to delegate and deputise. I have had this argument so many times over the years. Miss Caulfield you are replaceable. You will be replaced. Eventually so will Starmer. There are six hundred and sixty odd of you people in Westminster all claiming to be the hardest working person in the UK. Get yourself on a rota and we should be well covered if Putin invades us at tea-time.😂Not one of you would know a real shift. See doctors, nurses, teachers, builders etc.
Finally, the truly professional thing to do is ask for help. If you can't find time for a meal with the family you are not executing your job role properly. If there are not enough hours in the day then you are failing. Trying to be a super hero is not the answer. At the end of the day someone else will fill your shoes. Make sure everyone surrounding you is trained to the highest standard and communicate every relevant bit of information to them to allow them to do their job. Then accept that you are not the messiah and that the world will still turn without the weight of it on your shoulders.
