@@jtomlin1uk At least they worked and didn’t live on benefits. How many send their benefits abroad, how much aid does this country give away, how much charity money goes abroad, still they haven’t got clean water or other facilities, what is wrong with these countries that can’t get their act together. They must have received trillions and trillions of aid over the years. Why not give a small amount to these women, to help out. I worked in NHS and I only found out when my older sister found out 2 years before she was 60.
Ann forgets that many women didn’t read newspaper or follow the news, I don’t know anyone that had a letter, I was retired by NHS on ill health in 2005 stating I would not be able to work again up to pension age,
it also states that my pension age was 60, that was 11 years to my retirement, then 6 years later I found out it had gone up to 66 (due to my older sister finding out it had gone to 66).

It was only after reading about the age increase in the Good Housekeeping that I requested a pension statement. It is absolute garbage that no compensation should be paid. I went on working till 68 plus. My stepsister 3 years younger received her state pension 3 years earlier. That’s unfair. As a minimum the government should pay the percentage increase for every 9 weeks longer worked which would help, especially with the withdrawal of the winter fuel allowance.

I was b1962 and I have to work till I'm 67. Its set to rize again. I wanted to retire at 65 as I am partially sighted with back and joint problems and I do a manual job. Also now people do not even have to say they are retiring they can just stay in that job. A lot of people do not want to retire at all. But where will jobs come from for the younger generations if we simply stay in the jobs. I also feel a lot of people now seem to look down on those that do wish to retire. Also Women b in the 60w worked longer hours and earned less than men too it's still going on today as well we are just not aware.
