Forget the style, focus on the policies and what he can do for you. That’s what I do. You know what, forget him and look at the economy and the borders status, and it’s all because of the same person you want to vote for again. It’s like punching your nose to spite your face.
We have a lot in common. My wife and I have been voting Republican since Reagan but in 2020 voted for a Democrat for the first time. We are still registered as Republicans and get all of the campaign messaging daily. It's been a real struggle for us but at the end of the day I think we're going to have to cast our vote once again for a Democrat. A family of four earning $75,000 will owe an additional $1,500 in taxes.
A family of five with two earners making around $100,000 will owe an additional nearly $7,500 in taxes.
The Child Tax Credit will be slashed in half from $2,000 down to $1,000.
The guaranteed deduction that 90 percent of taxpayers use to simplify their tax filing will be slashed in half.

Despite CBO’s Predictions, Trump Tax Cuts Were a Boon for America’s Economy and Working Families
Key Facts:
In fiscal year 2022, federal tax revenues reached a record-high of $4.9 trillion - $1.6 trillion or 48 percent higher than when the Trump tax cuts were passed and $884 billion higher than CBO’s projections for 2022.
Corporate tax revenues reached a record-high of $425 billion - $128 billion or 43 percent higher than when the Trump tax cuts were passed and $72 billion higher than CBO’s projections for 2022.
Individual tax revenues reached a record-high of $2.6 trillion - over $1 trillion or 66 percent higher than when the Trump tax cuts were passed and $642 billion higher than CBO’s projections for 2022.
On average, revenues increased $205 billion per year over CBO’s projections.
In the first two years after passage of the Trump tax cuts, GDP growth was a full percentage point higher than CBO’s pre-TCJA forecast.
According to the White House Office of Management and Budget, every additional one percent of sustained GDP growth will result in $600 billion in new revenues over 5 years and $2.8 trillion over 10 years.
Following passage of the Trump tax cuts…
Real median household income rose by $5,000 - a bigger increase in just two years than in the prior eight years combined.
Wages increased 4.9 percent, the fastest two-year growth in real wages in 20 years.
The poverty rate and unemployment rate reached their lowest levels in 50 years, with all-time lows in unemployment among African American and Hispanic workers, and those without a high-school degree.
The bottom 20 percent of earners saw their federal tax rate fall to its lowest level in 40 years.
Americans earning under $100,000 received an average tax cut of 16 percent.
The share of taxes paid by the Top 1% of households increased while the tax burden paid by lower income earners decreased.

Fentanyl is rapidly replacing heroin as the drug cartels are using to make money. Statistics on drug seizures from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) show that there has been a clear shift in the cartels’ smuggling habits, and the data strongly indicate that the border chaos of recent years is facilitating this lethal trade. Comparing statistics across the last three full fiscal years (FY) is as it informative as it is alarming.
Heroin seizures were high throughout FY 2021, closing the year on 5,400 lbs. seized. But by FY 2023 seizures had fallen to just 1,500 lbs. That is a 72 percent drop in just two fiscal years. By contrast, fentanyl seizures in FY 2021 were 11,200 lbs. and over 27,000 lbs. in FY 2023. This is an enormous 141 percent increase. The statistics show that the cartels are clearly changing their business model. Cartels see more money and growth opportunity in fentanyl, and are moving away from heroin and towards fentanyl.
Fentanyl is attractive to the cartels because of its massive money making potential. In terms of the profit margin, for just $50,000 in production costs, $20 million worth of fentanyl can be sold. This is a return of $400 for every $1 spent. For cartels, like any business, the profit margin of that magnitude is too high to ignore. Another feature that attracts the cartels is the sheer addictiveness. Fentanyl snares people into addiction more quickly and totally than even heroin, given that fentanyl is 100 times more potent than heroin. The more powerful the drug, the more powerful the addiction and with that, the more business for smugglers and dealers.

A true hero. It's guys like this who stand for what they believe and sensibly weigh the alternatives who give me hope. I could understand Republicans who voted Trump in 2016 even though they didn't like him. They liked his fiscal policies (or some of them). But after January 6th how could you call yourself an American and vote for him? The guy ultimately responsible (morally if not legally) for all the deaths on that day and who still has never apologised or expressed remorse? He will do it again, in a heart beat.
