    I really like this host. He seems to ask a lot of well thought out questions that really get to the nitty gritty.

    This channel is by far the best. You both ask the best questions and seem to always get the best responses from the interviewee.
    Keep up the good work guys.

    Easy. I did this with an MPU6050 IMU with an arduino and 2 servos on a camera gimbal mount. Nothing too ground breaking, but still really cool to maybe include on professional quad filming with a HUD with camera data (shutter, exposure, etc.)

      Nate Cordova Well hang it on a drone and you can fly with the hands and "record film" with your head.

    High quality, stereoscopic 360 degree cameras, providing a constant all-around image, would be ideal to stream and allow for multiple simultaneous viewpoints.
    These would ideal ceiling mounted in museums and galleries to allow virtual visitors access to their exhibits and could provide tourists and spectators the ability to visit events and venues throughout the world en masse.

  • @MHVuze
    @MHVuze 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That indeed sounds very interesting! First thing I thought about was using it to visit distant places in VR but obviously data transfer latency gets in the way of this. Hm. Still pretty cool.

    • @rich1051414
      @rich1051414 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MHVuze Yes, and even at the speed of light with no bottle necks on either side, remotely viewing the other side of the world would have noticeable latency(up to 70ms).

    I wonder if it would work with a 360 degree camera instead?

    • @Dragonslice29
      @Dragonslice29 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Technically yes a 360 camera would work but they are known for having poor resolution while a single camera could be a 4k resolution

    • @mirabilis
      @mirabilis 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      And you clouldn't go 3D with a single camera either. ;)

    • @johnmonne3601

      The James Anderson Show I was thinking exactly the same when I saw they were using a gimble system that they then realize it is a bottle neck cause it has to move around really quick.. not to mention the possible malfunction problems due to the moving...very quickly.. moving parts..
      So why indeed not create a multi camera setup that captures a constant 360 dome view (3d as well! as this is just a stereoscopic camera setup) and have the view move around digitally in real time without delay.....so I really dont get this setup..

    • @loki3165
      @loki3165 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The James Anderson Show
      I've had this idea (As I'm sure everyone else has) to put a 360 camera on the sidelines of a sporting event or concert and stream the footage so everyone with a VR headset can attend. Imagine attending an Airshow with full spacial audio this way.

    • @thejamesanderson
      @thejamesanderson 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that would be really awesome, also I reckon with a 360 camera you wouldnt need to worry about moving a rotating robotic camera fast enough etc

    This is the killer app of VR: Telepresence. This will allow people to virtually teleport around the world to experience live events as if they are actually there.
    The future of destination sporting events & festivals will never be the same. #vr #future #singularity

      John Malkovich This kind of tech is already used in the military. Look at the Apache gunship. the gunner has a similar setup, where he/she looks the cannon on the underside looks. You can designate targets just by looking at them.

    • @JayTie1
      @JayTie1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Malkovich to add on this; you can expect tha most of the tech we have today was in military hands 10 years ago. An example is the Hubble space telescope: Similar telescope setups for espionage satellites were developed by the military way before; there's a fun story how one of the guys who worked on the Hubble also had worked with the secret service on the development of their espionage sattelites and knew Hubble would fail at first (which it did) but he couldn't tell anybody since he would have to disclose classified information on which he based his knowledge.

    So you can be with your family watching a movie without even being there? Awesome! But this is not really new because the military has been using things like this for years, but still cool we can use it now, or later.

    Super useless but cool. Restricts your vision, so unless your in a surveillance room on your own or something and there is nothing within your immediate vicinity that could require your attention (such as people running etc if you used this on the street at a stand or something). Also everyone knows your looking at them. Also why not just use a 360 degree camera with this and let the user look around instead of restricting it...

  • @h8stupidppl
    @h8stupidppl 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Its not such a big deal... They added a motion tracking device to the oculus rift and all that is connected to a camera. We can already do that just not with the VR machine.

    • @RizkyPrasetyo16

      H8stupidppl the big deal is the latency. before we control it with a remote now only with VR Headset
