I love the beach and when my son was stationed in Pensacola for tech school, we were able to visit twice! Most recently, we flew in to Tampa and spent a long weekend there and in Port Richey. And in all those 40 years I have never seen anyone else with one. Just saying. A soft toothbrush with water will remove grout and smooth in between. ❤Also, Vaseline is a inside secret for painters. You can use it in metal, glass, mirrors etc. just clean off post painting. For those hard to tape areas 😊
My favorite is the starfish in the frame. You really changed the look of the frame, and the grasscloth backing for the starfish made for a beautifully graphic, yet simply elegant piece. I love all your DIYs, and look forward to more. Thanks for sharing! ❤️

Hello, Next time you want to apply “Grout” into tight/small places, put your Grout into a Pastry Bag. I prefer to use a “Tip” a plain round works best, it also controls exactly where you want to apply your Grout for a lot less wiping later on. I absolutely adored all of your Coastal Projects, especially the Sail Boat. My Son lives in a Beach Town and his entire home is decorated with a Coastal/Brach Theme. I’m definitely going to make some of your projects with the help of my Grandkids. ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It’s a good lesson, sometimes despite all our best efforts. things start to go wrong and we have to just take a breath and see what we can do to make things better and often it turns out better than we expected. The boat and tray are my favs. The boat is so simple yet looks perfect. For the tray the grout seamed to give you a challenge. I wonder if using white sand and resin would have been better (would resin even work over sand?).
I noticed that the drill bit danced across the sea shells while you tried to start the drilling. This has happened to me on surfaces that are not flat. I place a piece of painter's tape onto the surface first. Mark the tape where you want to drill. This gives the drill bit something to grab onto and prevents the drill bit from moving. All were beautiful. An option instead of grout for the sea glass and tray would have been epoxy. I use it when putting sea glass on a table top. Also damping your cloth helps remove grout from the tile or the sea glass and shells in your case. Anyway you definitely made shells look great and not church crafty and I am definitely going to do the shell garland. That was an awesome idea,
A trick to make holes in the seashells is using a spoon and beat up the spot in the part where there is the bump of the shell. In no time you will have the little hole needed.

I love all of the pieces that you came up with. Now the mirror was my favorite I guess. I think that maybe you should tape the mirror again and spray the whole piece with a top coat so that the paint doesn't become Dusty and grimy.

I hope to practice with some resin in the future and if I am comfortable I may come back and add resin to the tray.

A narrow silicone spatula would be a more flexible tool to use for grout application. 🥰
