      @Dom Benini -- I'm brand-spanking new to all of this, and I'm a geek, so my curiosity kicked in there and now you have me wondering: how had you been using it so far? (I figure that it might be of use to know more than one way of going about things.)

    • @dom3225
      @dom3225 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@charlesrockafellor4200 I am not geeky at all and i didn't watch tutorials before starting to make videos. I put 2 tracks and stacked videos and images and transitions and everything into one, then audio on another. So it was really messy and hard to edit. I was creating everything I needed in power point then screen recorded then put it on the open shot editor. I did everything wrong smh

    Hey Jonathan, not sure if you ever get to answering questions, but if you do, I'm curious if there is a way to make parts of a video clip transparent in OpenShot. The batman mask was an image with everything but the mask transparent. You mentioned you could use videos with transparent places as well.
    I'm wondering specifically because I want to experiment with using a green screen to take animations in the foreground and put them on top of animations in the back ground.

    So happy to have you beside me to learn about video editor. A question maybe on this particular nbr 3 tutorial. How did you get the transparency of the mark picture. Is this by using a king of Photoshop picture with transparency applied ? Thanks

    1:17 : "this foreground object has transparency"... It's actually a more advanced action that is required in order to create a transparent background, by using chroma key to delete selected colors... I'm not sure why that part is skipped, because beginners probably can't follow from this point on without having a foreground image first.

    So, the transparent Batman mask automatically went in as a foreground image/on top of the previous image because it was added to a higher track number or because it was added AFTER the others?

    Thanks! I noticed that besides doing fade in/fade out, I can also click on any point in a clip and change the alpha setting, and it will then gradually change to that alpha setting from whatever it was before (much the same concept as your advanced batman mask animation). One of those little "green brackets" shows up when I do that. My question is, is there an easy way to work with those green brackets? For example, can I delete one of them, or make one of them shorter or longer, or easily change the value at the end of one of them? I tried zooming in and clicking on them, but it doesn't seem that they can be clicked on.

    • @prafullagiri8420
      @prafullagiri8420 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those Green Brackets are keyframes. You can delete them from 'properties', but you'll have to be in the exact frame where a keyframe has been set. You can use the arrowed keys to navigate frame-by-frame. This video might be of some help too: th-cam.com/video/mgi4esWA84M/w-d-xo.html
      P.S: Feature requests have been made for clickable, deletable, dragable keyframes. But since Mr. Thomas is doing this solo for the most part, it seems it might be a while before the feature is implemented.
