    You did very well! only thing is Oxxos are overpriced 24hr stores, you would've spent half for those chips and peanuts at a regular misc store for example.. but maybe they were closed already. Tortas are very popular food all over Mexico, even at home (if you're a kid your mom will place a torta on your backpack for lunch, haha). I would've went for tacos al pastor for dinner but that's a lot of calories on a single day I guess. Anyway have fun in Mexico, there's a lot of interesting places you can visit if you have the time. Get one of those tourist books online :)

    • @TheNewTravel
      @TheNewTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Thanks a lot AgileBeast! You're writing tacos al pastor would have been a great dinner, I was actually thinking of that! But in the end I thought after the Torta that would be too much. We're a big fan of al pastor though :)

      It's a battle between Oxxo and 7-eleven which makes the prices change every time,Oxxo is very high with the products because it is Mexican,while 7-eleven grabs your dollar for 18 pesos cause they American

    • @Steelmade58
      @Steelmade58 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Misc stores aren't cheap anymore. You're easier off comparing prices from walmart, soriana, Sam's and costco

    • @AlexG-tf9bi
      @AlexG-tf9bi 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The thing about Oxxo and old neighbor stores is that some things are cheaper in one and wome things are more expensive in the other.
      Junk food is generally cheaper in the traditional store, but beverages and certain candies are cheaper in Oxxo.

It's nice to take a look at another perspective of the little things of my beautiful country. It motivates me to keep an open mind and not only think about the bad things we're so used to over here.
    Thanks a lot for your honest commentary in your videos.

      The New Travel depends on the area where you live, for example the neighborhood of Roma everything is more expensive, but in different areas of the city you can find the same things more cheaper, the tortas were at their normal price. And, you can save a lot more money buying at a local neighborhood store instead of an Oxxo or 7eleven! I really enjoy your videos!

      They are my friend. Im mexican and I live in México, so I can tell you that those kind of "Street Tortas" are the best option if you're hungry, late or maybe you just don't want to spend a lot of money cause they are not expensive. I really recommend you México, won't regret. Cheers!

    It is not expensive if you come from a richer country. Minimum wage is less than 5 USD per day. If you can afford to spend 10 USD per day, you are quite a rich guy here.

    • @TheNewTravel
      @TheNewTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      That's a good point Felipe. I don't mean to say that the meals I had were affordable for the average Mexican. I know that unfortunately for a lot of people here the wages are much lower than my country. My goal was just to make a fun challenge, and to show people from America or Canada how far $10 can go
