Truely a beautiful game. Hats off to grandmaster Torre for introducing his own line of Torre attack against the most formidable opponent Dr. Lasker with amazing windmill tactics. Not only a game but should be renamed as Mexican tornedo. Rightly explained and analysed at critical positions with your soft tongued commentry adding sugar in milk. Thanks for such session and looking forward for such nice videos. Regards.
Engine says that 22..h6 was a mistake from Black; better (and also attacking the pinned B) was f6. We should look at f6, then. 23..Qd5 was another mistake; better was immediate hxg5. 24.Qb5 was another mistake; better was Qxd4. Lasker "had it, then lost it" in a set of 3 mistakes. During the windmill, White could have taken that extra pawn on a7 and indeed, the engine wishes that he would have. Maybe Torre felt it was too cruel?
I found after analizing one of my game this rook and bishop variation taking everything in the path one by one right this morning ! what a coincidence. Great queen sacrifice !
This Torre can read the emotions of his opponent no doubt. how can you explain that his adventure in sacrifying the queen before the world champion for 27 years long.?
I think that he made it on purpose. In this way Lasker is holded by his own pawn, therefore it is harder to deliver checkmate on the 1st rank with the rook.
@Oissev Onos (1) It's pure speculation that Lasker was distracted by a telegram. He read it for sure, but there's no evidence that he was "distracted" to any significant degree. (2) Even if Lasker did get distracted, it was mostly his own fault. He should've waited until after the game to read his telegram. I know you want to make excuses for Lasker, but wining is winning, and Repetto won. Even if he only won because Lasker got "distracted", it doesn't bother me at all. 🤣
Mato be honest, 6:55-7:29 is not the sign of chess mind, it is sign of very miserable and nasty personality and in such situations, I would like to take a chessboard and deliver checkmate on such person's head.
dude I am not against double or discover checks. but when your king can make same moves, while your opponent is taking you pieces this isnt sign of strategic or tactitian mind. it is very cheap and lame tactics.

This is one of my favourite game, one of the most spectacular in history of chess in my opinion! Thank you Mato!
Giovanni Cappello I was waiting for this game a long time, because when I saw this I was like: what, how was lasker black haha

The windmill is one of my favourite chess tactics. Delightful to see another excellent game won by it
Thank you for this, Mato!
So much love from Philippines!
Thank you, Mato! I had been waiting for you to make a video of this match for over a year. Torre at his best :)
Thanks for the video, I'm really proud that a Mexican like me could perform such a beautiful game against the best of the world 🤗
Thanks for the games of Torre,he was well respected by the great ones.
Mato grazie per avermi fatto conoscere Torre ha un gioco impressionante.
Mato thank you for this game
I did not know Torre.
He had a spectacular game.
Love the Torre videos you have been doing lately. Keep them coming, sir!

What a game, an honour to watch.
Probably the best game of Torre ... so far.
great job sharing this game!

شكرا أستاذ ماتو
Torre Repetto was Mexican? He was a very good and imaginative player.
Fantastic! Thanks for the game Mato
Speechless Game...:)
Epic Game....
Very Very Entertaining Game..
Thanks Mato...:)
Osum Game.
This is one of the gems of chess history.
I love windmills...like the one if the Fischer game from the 1950s vs..Burns I think (or Byrne ? was it)
Ouch! Being windmilled in chess is like being pace abused in FIFA
should have windmilled once more
that he didnt conveyed a world of contempt xD
I found after analizing one of my game this rook and bishop variation taking everything in the path one by one right this morning ! what a coincidence. Great queen sacrifice !
Great game, Mato! Exciting to watch
I like when Mato tell this phrase ,,black to move, black play the move and white resign " amazing 😆😆😆
I'm still so happy Mato didn't retire.
Hi Mato, haven't you played any games recently? please upload any
Amazing game, I will never ever ever be this good a chess player.
@Oissev Onos Torre himself said neither player was at his best in this game. Imagine not playing your best and still beating Lasker.
Also, Torre won 'Rook-ie of the year' for his play
This Torre can read the emotions of his opponent no doubt. how can you explain that his adventure in sacrifying the queen before the world champion for 27 years long.?
I'm not sure but 3:40 if rook to d1 then pawn to h6 attacking then is it possible to play rook from d3 to h3. If pawn takes bishop then queen to g8+
That was a slick move, I did not see the queen sacrifice
Carlos Torre likes living on the edge.
This not Emanuel Lasker , yes Edward Lasker !
@Oissev Onos OK! Iam sorry. Is Emanuel Lasker.
Great game
Mato... I didn't sleep last night. My chess was bad.
u may needed a lullaby from mato..
Would it have it been bad if i windmilled all the material i could before taking the queen?
in some tradtions .It means bad morals from u
I see nothing wrong with it
I think that he made it on purpose. In this way Lasker is holded by his own pawn, therefore it is harder to deliver checkmate on the 1st rank with the rook.
Witold Pilecki ❤POLAND
epic game
believe it or not but I found the move of Bf6
Bf6 with a billion exclams
Wow, sucks to be windmilled… but good game hehehe
hmm I knew it wud be queen sac
ah ha, i guessed all the moves
nice to see world champion for 27 years loses agame lol i cant imagine lasker loses t any one except capablanca

Maybe chess is not for you. Try kick boxing.
)))
i like chess. i play like 7 years, but there is always a spoon of ++++ in bottle of honey.
?? lol, for sure you haven't seen any other Lasker games, a lot of discovered checks.

Eli Smirnov Why is it cheap and lame?
