A runeword everyone ignores is splendor. You can definitely make it by the time you get to hell and it has good stats, +1 to skills, faster cast rate, mana. It can help a caster significantly until you can get your hands on a spirit
Love the channel, have watched your vids for a long time now. Watching this makes me think, what do I want new players/returning players to know. I think a video explaining how to spot gg rare and magic items could be helpful. For example a new player might drop a 3frw/36ar sc, 2/3 druid pelt or even 3/3/3 wand base. There are tools that tell what prefixes/affixes are possible. There's a lot there and you could go pretty deep in depth if you wanted
Great video - subscribed. Have seen a lot of your content previously but this was the best video so far, hope you get a ton more views when D2R hits and a new generation needs to figure out how to play this.
Dude thank you for this video. Getting me even more pumped for D2R. Been waiting to get back into Diablo 2. Your videos are awesome. Keep up the good work man
I appreciate the idea, but just a hour or 2 of nm meph runs will reap you vmagi and nagels with much faster runs and get you better prepped for hell. I do agree on tal helm though, found that during nm meph runs as well. I have recently been trying to get through d2 on my own for the first time in forever.
Actually the best way to get viper is to farm Andariel on Nightmare when shes bugged with her quest drop. Ive done that for hardcore and ive gotten it quite fast especially if there are no bans now on rejoining games the era of farming one boss over and over is back just like on SP and yea octavius i got Viper and some rez stuff from Nightmare Andy,Meph and farmed shitton of Andy hell for Shako then i went to act 3 to farm Meph for Stormshield and then i only went to kill baal was my first HC kill too.
Great video - though I don't agree with the straight-to-Hell jump. I acquired some juicy items in my SP Switch playthrough (like Tal Ammy/Occy/Skullders) by farming NM Mephisto. It's so easy to die in Hell when tele'ing. Regarding the build, I'll finish the game with a FO/FB hybrid to bypass immunes, then Respec to a Light Sorc once I'm able to make an Infinity.
I think it might be worth farming nightmare mephisto a bit just so you're not going into hell with horrible stuff. There's quite a few things you can get pretty early, like 2-3 tals pieces, chance guards, skin of the viper magi, war travelers, the occulus, etc. The odds for these items are almost the same as hell, but it will be much easier. Coming into hell with even some of this gear will make Hell a lot easier when playing ssf. I think a good setup to aim for early is a tal set - gives really good damage and safety with lots of mana and life. It's pretty hard to top that early on - requires way too many good uniques and rune words to do so.
This exactly what I will be starting first when D2R drops, haven't played for a long time and even when I did I didnt scratch the surface on gear farming. Will be good to actually not die to everything on hell mode... fingers crossed :)
I don't know if anybody has discovered this, but if you use telekinisis on the hell portal, you don't need to wait for the path to rise up and walk to it. It saves only a few seconds but it adds up. And it kinda get you into the flow and complete the runs faster.
People keep saying to rush to hell mode but your 3 first and best early magic find pieces drop in Normal. Getting all 3 gives about 200% Magic Find and this was intentional they all have the highest drop rates in Normal. Gull Dagger from Coldcrow, Goldwrap Belt (30% MF) from Diablo, and the helmet Mephisto drops is a poor man's Shako with magic find and +1 to all skills. I'm pretty sure my Tancreds helm and ammy dropped in Normal from Diablo and the ammy gives 78% Magic Find when paired with another set piece. Artic Frost belt and gauntlets give +40% however you only get 8 pot slots which hurts your ability to telerush to bosses. I'm currently still trying to farm Goldwrap which would bring me to about 360% magic find on my level 51 Blizz Sorc. She does about 1200 Damage and has around 700 HP and 300ish armor, 900+ with Merc aura. Was gonna get to hell mode today and farm Nightmare Mephisto all day but Switch version is having server issues again. Normal Pindkleskin runs helped me gear up my other characters and all my Mercs. I have 51 def chainmail with 3 P Topaz hahahaha. I also wasted my first socket quest not knowing you could socket uniques and set pieces. I need God damn ist runes for my shield, currently got Malgeras Orb Shield or w/e, gives 25% MF, also a Normal drop I think... :/ As far as kill speed and survivability go I only have +2 to all Sorc skills and 50% FCR from a wand and ammy I swap out for a 178% Dip in my magic find, my shield sucks. 3 Socket Large Shield with EthEth and a P Amythyst. LOL I also have a Menalds Ring which brings me to 50 or 60% Mana recovery if I sacrifice another 12% MF. Can you put a P Topaz or Ist Rune in a gull Dagger with the socket quest? If a 5 Ist Sword gives 125-130% MF a socketed Gull would be the same bonus and easier to get. EDIT: NVM Ist runes give 30% MF in a weapon so 140% MF in a 5 socket.
MR D! Awesome video I have a request. For those of us who don't use the pluggy mod blinking around in level two can be tedious to try to find level three could you possibly show us map routes to get to level three for the various different maps. And screen shot them plzzzzzzz! Thanks again for your help.
These next 30 hours really can't come fast enough I haven't had any fire for this game for quite some time and I am so excited to get back to grinding this game. I never made it to max level back in the day, I will now.
Same feeling here man. But 99 takes some speciel kind of dedication. I got to 97 back then and without music and distractions - I'd never gotten there. :/
Great video! Would love to see something like a best places to farm for popular builds. Planning on starting D2R with a trapsin, javazon, and blizz sorc, would be cool to hear your opinion on where is best to farm for each of those. Killin it with the content!
How would starting as a paladin be? Awful/slow without the teleport, is it more gear dependent? Where would you start farming in hell, diablo or is that too hard on a fresh starter? If so, any place else? Sorry for all the questions, only ever really played modded d2 so d2r will be a new thing for me
Paladins gotta be the easiest to get @res + max. block on, also you can use charge, not as fast as teleporting but it gets the job done if you choose to start with a Paladin. One pro is that it's hard to come across magic immunes asides from that second wave in baalruns, some mobs in A2 tombs, and a couple more mobs around. It all depends on what you plan to be farming, if you want to farm Keys, don't go for a Paladin right away, if you wanna farm Diablos, it'd be a good choice.
I'd probably also put CTA over HOTO as soon as I start out, that extra Life+Mana both for Me and my Merc are nice overall, and let's not forget you also get a +1 from Battle Commands, so you get the +1 you lose from not using a HOTO as main weapon. I mean if I got a Vex before an Ohm I'd probably just make the HOTO, but y'know what I mean.
Awesome content! Really looking forward to see how big of a boost you get once D2R is released. Another super easy spot to farm for basically all items: Pindleskin in A5 by the portal close to Malalalahahakaka (?, the woman you release out of a block of ice from quest 3 I think).
An idea: Fanatism-Zeal Procc Build. Never tried something like it before. It probably can't do much, but I wanna see how far you can go with effects on screen. Don't know how Dragons Holy Fire Aura interacts with Fanatism though. Or try a variation. Would love to see a video like this. Armor: Rain Weapon: Stormlash Shield: Dragon or Phoenix Gauntlets: Hellmouth Amulet: Atma's Ring: Carrion Wind x2 Helm, Belt & Boots: Rare? Additional Uniques: Hellfire Torch
All the people who were upset about your last video could have just watched the multiple other budget blizzard guides you have dropped throughout the years. You even did BNet character check in videos that show your thought processes and goals. Either way it is cool that you listen to your comments and react to them. I will never complain when you drop more content haha
Exactly lol there are thousands videos on budget builds and multiple guides if you just use google or youtube search bar but i guess everyone loves to be spoonfed. Theres even enough time to prepare yourself before it releases if you havent played for 10 years and you want to refresh you knowledge.
early on I do find stealth better than smoke. . . if only because the lum rune can't really be farmed in nm countess with any amount of pace. You might get it to drop from nm forge, or somewhere along the way. . . when making my sorc and sin fresh ladder this week, I had to do close to 50+ hell countess runs to get one for a merc armor. . . while stealth, gives frw letting you blizz and walk backwards pretty freely against the vast majority of things. in single player you'll likely be able to get the ptopaz's for 4 chest 3 helm reliably. . . if you can do that on ladder I'd love to know the trick. I haven't found enough to make more than the 3 in a single helm with 2 80+ characters in hell (only hell baal runs were a little for the sorc, sin did most of her own). I agree it's a remarkable amount of mf for doing mephisto. those 2 items with the rhyme will be all you need to mf mephisto with some decent drops. . . what some will do, is use lore + stealth/x for the run to mephy and maybe even some kill dmg. then swap one or two of them just before the kill. . . too much work for me, I just use the helm. the merc gear isn't particualrly budget everything else is. . . tals helm, isn't particularly budget. that early ladder can easily sell for ist. . . getting the merc to good survival stats took me the longest. It required me to get lucky with a vamp gaze. . . however, just a cheap 4soc armor with runes for resistances will go a good ways early. and just teleport around to position him and keep him alive. . . . it's a full time job babysitting mr merc before he's got usable gear. . . mines able to tank hell cows now, and all it really took was a vamp gaze drop (rest are a insight poleaxe, and a smoke. sin got the lum rune for me). that said, after farming mephy for a little bit. you can usually trade for the lem rune pretty easily. . . tals helm/vamp gaze etc. might be a bit more difficult though. . . i'd actually emphasize fcr to the 63 breakpoint BEFORE any mf should be considered. . . teleporting fast enough is very important, or you'll get smacked by the big guys, get locked and die.
It should also be mentioned you can farm a Monarch base for spirit in Act 1 Hell and get it early in the crypts in the burial grounds. Since it’s a lvl 85 dungeon and easy to farm with a blizz sorc.
When I was a new player, (Circa 20 years ago!) I always used to find Andy/Meph nm useful for a few extra bits of gear before moving on to mfing Andy Hell and Mephi Hell. I think this was the biggest learning I did and understanding the impact of breakpoints, resistance balance, etc, and that being able to easily do some mf runs with circa 150% mf is much more beneficial than mfing with as much mf as you can load. I remember the strategy being at one point being to change to Gul dagger and a 4 isted shield for the kill. Geeze, what a pointless waste of time that was. But then it all used to be a lot easier when Durance of Hate and Catacombs were tiny to get to Meph/Andy with crap gear.
i always found CTA was the smarter choice since if you had dual spirits (speaking for a Paladin without endgame gear) that added survivability is super helpful.
I played d2 for quite some time and I learned a lot with your videos on my mf build I like to have a pair of chance guard and goldwrap, they are pretty common uniques and provide a good amount of mf
I’d still recommend HOTO first over CTA. Because the biggest benefit from it isn’t just the 1 extra skill point or the FCR which are both still great benefits. The biggest benefit from HOTO is the all Res you get from it. Getting 30-40 all res allows you to switch out some res gear for more MF. Having a larger health pool doesn’t seem as efficient as having more resistances imo. Especially since your lvl 94 character didn’t have to beat chaos sanctuary with low resistances to get to the hell cow. I think having more resistances would be more beneficial to just clearing hell the first time lol
@Dbrunski125 is it worth doing Frozen orb + Fireball first in ladder? I mean, it is better for finishing the game, and also lets you farm all the DoH Lvl3, having more lv85 drops. I don't know if it is more worth that going straight blizzard and bug mephisto, probably not. Also it is a more fun gameplay :P
Thanks for the great Vid. Just wondering, dont you recommend to farm Countess? Ye shes cold/fire immun but my budget gear merc can easily kill her and i at least got 2 Mal runes so far...
You need fire res for meph runs so you can kill council etc that agroes you. A firewall frozen orb build is actually doable too. You dont need 63 fcr but it is desirable.
I used treachery on my bowazon to reach the maximum ias breakpoint and I was surprised to see that it is actually a good armor. You also get 20% faster hit recovery and some cold resistance but when fade kicks in the survivability of the character goes really up. I mean +60 resistances, 15% damage reduction (25% with harlequin crest, really not bad) AND significant curse duration reduction for almost 5 minutes. It's insane. I decided to keep it on and I had a fortitude previously so it had some competition.
I think when you talk about farming the cows you should have recommended the merc bug, where you leash them in inner cloister so they cant be hit by melee attackers.

I think a video explaining how to spot gg rare and magic items could be helpful. For example a new player might drop a 3frw/36ar sc, 2/3 druid pelt or even 3/3/3 wand base. There are tools that tell what prefixes/affixes are possible. There's a lot there and you could go pretty deep in depth if you wanted
here is what we actually need! Thanks for listening to us!
Started D2R with Barb as my first character. Currently can't find any items to save him in hell. Gonna try this build to find more items, thanks D!
Keep up the good work man
Best d2 build and best d2 streamer, what a great combo:)
I do NM because I play HC. Can't risk hell with such low gear.
Hey Dbrunsky what a incredable high quality video man. Thank you so much. Best regards from Brazil.
If you do it on switch the game crashes, same with telekinesis on AT door
@@tylerfergusson2486 sorry i didnt know that. I'm on the old pc ver
Great, really useful video. The one thing I miss is the players count settings for each farming area.
As far as kill speed and survivability go I only have +2 to all Sorc skills and 50% FCR from a wand and ammy I swap out for a 178% Dip in my magic find, my shield sucks.
Thank you for this video. It's hard to find information on actually starting up a MF character.
This is much better. I dont have ladder runewords but this is otherwise within reach for me. Thanks!
You look good dbrunski been a tan for years and I can tell you look more healthier than the old
Videos
Diablo players imo are the best community of gamers. People like helping each other and dropping off junk in games for newbies lol
This video was great. Helps a whole lot to start the mf from scratch when you basically dont have mf gear. Great vid 👍🏻
Thanks DB awesome guide! The only question I have is where do you go after ancient tunnels?
Nice, thorough explanation
Quest locking Andy as well is a great way to MF. Great video
YES DB!!!!! This is why you’re my favorite D2 streamer!
was about to go to bed , saw this vidio , made a lore for my sorc , in 2 min , yay
How would starting as a paladin be? Awful/slow without the teleport, is it more gear dependent? Where would you start farming in hell, diablo or is that too hard on a fresh starter? If so, any place else? Sorry for all the questions, only ever really played modded d2 so d2r will be a new thing for me
A hdin with double spirit can farm some lvl85 areas for sure
Yeah it's tough, the main factor between the two really is if you need more life or resistances
@@Stavroization If you play HC you might go for HOTO instead I guess, I'm not an HC player tho.
Armor: Rain
Weapon: Stormlash
Shield: Dragon or Phoenix
Gauntlets: Hellmouth
Amulet: Atma's
Ring: Carrion Wind x2
Helm, Belt & Boots: Rare?
Additional Uniques: Hellfire Torch
Very very excited for the ressurrected, please lanch this game blizz.
Thank you so much Mr. Dbrunski.. you really help us alot!!!
Great detail as always!
Bruh you should upload your whole gameplay videos(not just the highlights) when d2r comes out.
As always, awesome content😁
Saving this video for when D2R drops!!!
Oh how sweet the feeling will be once these items start to drop in D2R
i would craft a caster belt and shop magic find boots and gloves. and i would also probably gamble an amulet
Great videio I just switch to the 4 P topaz Armour and 3 P topaz helm on meph for the last 2 seconds. With the moat trick its a breeze.
ty, this is very well put together
i always found CTA was the smarter choice since if you had dual spirits (speaking for a Paladin without endgame gear) that added survivability is super helpful.
I love using lower res shop wand. I go left for 1 screen than back right.. Some time the stares entrances is 1 screen away.
I love these budget builds
this build is so nice !!!, totaly what you come out after rushing through Norm+Alp
everyone can have this gear
Man this is an incredible guide holy shit. Wow. Smart dude. x'D !
I played d2 for quite some time and I learned a lot with your videos
on my mf build I like to have a pair of chance guard and goldwrap, they are pretty common uniques and provide a good amount of mf
Dbrunski coming clutch! xD
im not opposed to the idea of cta before hoto, but the res on hoto is a huge stepping stone into better gear
Respect for the respond feedback!
ben following debrunk for years help made me over 20k fg
Very professional, thank you for the video!
I usually buy mf boots from Anya in A5. Pretty easy to get 25+ mf magic boots.
