Newsflash: it’s summertime. I remember as a kid 40c - 47c wasn’t rare. And we had less aircon back then! We survived and thrived. As a kid, it was backyard with a hose or the slip n slide. Life in the early 90s was hot hot summer days, storms common arvo/evening. We used to get much more stormy weather back then. From extreme hail storms to rainless cloud to cloud light sbow spectacles. Never seen that weather since!
@@Nick-ox9hb It sure did and now humans are causing it by dumping industrial amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere changing the climate and causing more heatwaves and disrupting the usual patterns of climate we previously had.
We were just hit here in Wellington n.s.w. zigzag lightning, house shaking thunder& hail. Half of town now has no power. The temp got to 43° here today before the storm
One thing was normal... I remember back in the late 20th century when you'd have hot summer days then at the end, the storm clouds would come all dark and then woah ! about 5pm it would hit. The temperature would drop by about 10 degrees and you'd get that cool breeze. Of course it wasn't rocking 42 but more like 35.
@@mattyguff1 I remember it hitting about that one day. I was on the south east freeway on the way to the gold coast. The car overheated. The freeway was at a standstill (not due to my vehicle) and it took 2 hours just to get from Brisbane - Coomera (dreamworld) . But basically normal temperatures were 35 - 36
This is very normal for Sydney at this time of year. Back in the nineties we had southerly storms that brought cricket ball sized hail and tornadoes that destroyed roofs etc. I was part of the clean up mob. Had the same near Newcastle in the late eighties. Same again on the central coast in the seventies. Also the urban heat effect from extensive development over the last twenty odd years causes the temperatures to become higher in the western suburbs than it naturally should be. The east Australian current is also a big part of it. It gets up to 28°c + and had been doing that since records started. Water temp is close to 26°c on the nth coast NSW at the moment. But that's pretty normal for up there.

Yeah... Especially lovely if outdoors working. I had the aircon cranking between sites. I was so glad when the sun went down and the aircon could cope again.
Is it just me or is this the first video where 9 news allowed comments?
yeah...
Nothing controversial.
All very traditional Sydney summer weather. Really nothing special. It's been like that forever. Love it!
I would totally agree.
Remember Dorothea Mackellar, it's sounds pretty familiar to me.
LOL... Pathetic...They allow you to leave a comment on the weather channel but not on the other subjects, topics ..👎
funny that, also a shooting just happened but they are focusing on the "neo-nazis" who protested..
Snowflakes … and scared that government hears the truth of how people really feel
I think this is the only video that the comments are on 😂
And yet even on weather videos we get weirdos going on about rubbish like haarp. No wonder they disable comments.

Clickbait! Just a normal end of summer storm.
Insane heat in NSW
Normal late summer days in that area.
It's been beautiful on the nth coast NSW. The heat is not insane, it's normal for this time of year.
