Although the nature of these weapons can be limiting, this does mean that the ship isn't dealing an insignificant amount of damage. Also, due to the fact that the Pisces' speed is rather limited, in most cases, fleeing won't be an option. Also, by equipping too many high powered components, the ship becomes more vulnerable to enemy ships' scanners. Personally, despite having a slower recharge rate, I'd probably equip a Palisade shield generator to get another ~2000 hp, and I would highly recommend using the Atlas quantum drive because, although it's approximately the same speed as the stock one, you get a greater fuel efficiency and thus, a greater range. Anyway, thank you for the video Subliminal :)
Old comment but I just had to respond as I really like your choice of weapons and explanations. I put the weapons in Erkul and noticed that the Suckerpunch and Dominance have similar effective reach of around 1250m. The prospect of being able to use distortion damage while the Dominance has the highest rated dps of energy weapons you don't lose dps by using 50% of your loadout on distortion weapons while at the same time shutting down your enemy's shields and systems. 😅 So just letting you know that I've saved a build with those weapons and Palisade shield in Erkul. Atlas is already my favorite QD for all my small ships so I already bought those in bulk. Tommorow I'll make a quick hop to Lorville to pick up a pair of Dominance-1 guns. In theory it sounds like a very deadly combo; especially when so many people just dismiss this little shuttle and think it's no threat. Also makes me wonder if this combination can also turn the Aurora into a dominating suckerpunching machine too as all those models have 4 S1 hardpoints as well. The LN even has 2xS1 and 2xS2 but if you want to keep it gimballed you'd still be down to 4xS1 as staying on someone at 1250m is pretty tight. 🙂

Malcolm Hughes it’s all in how you look at it my friend. I use it for basic delivery missions and transport. It does all I need it to do and it’s a super fun ship to fly. The two starters can’t perform most tasks other than light combat.

I don't know if I missed it, however the fact it has a special ability to map jump points that the Carrack doesn't fit in, is a hugh advantages and for this reason I would not have any other shuttle in my Carrack
your missing one major point to this ship the reason someone my want to have one as a standalone ship , its a nice small runabout , i used mine to ferry people to and from stations to 890js and carracks , great for simple box missions or picking up a buddy with a box if they had a mishap with there ship ,its size for this is a perk once you have other large ships with hangers this will be the go to ship to use to transport crew to a ship rather that landing the ship to pick up people and it has a QT to catch up if it needs too something ships like the ARGO MPUV cant do
exactly this, its also a great little investigation ship, zip off to the location investigate things, pick up the flight recorder etc and shoot home, or do a couple of local box runs.
if you're using the pices as a snub in the carrack, consider the atlas QT drive, for it's much shorter spool up/cooldown time. as a scootabout, that's going to be the most useful stats for a ship that stays in the same system as it's mothership
Ahh 2022 and I just bought one..haha. It will get used within the org, can ferry ammo and extra warm bodies to the front line and also be a meat-wagon to transport battlefield wounded back to a Cutlass Red, rather than risk the Cutlass. Could also be used as a drop-pod of sorts. Fly towards a station, cut the power and cruise right up to it. Like the Mustang Delta, it's use is limited by imagination..the Delta for instance is Star Citizen's version of the MH-6 Little Bird, infantry ground support.
Been using this for courier box missions exclusively as It's the easiest to put 2-4 courier boxes in it, then go deliver all of them at once. Even doing one at a time, its so fast to deliver in this space van.
the easy of access to the pilots seat and the walk in access to the ship inventory matched with its small landing footprint makes this the best bunker running ship in the game. no internal doors or ladders between the pilot and the exit
I think a little part that is overlooked with the Pisces is that I think it is good for board missions in enemy hangers. For example, it can deliver a 3 man strike team (including the pilot) into the 890 Jumps and take the hanger right off the bat while a friend takes care of the fighters in another ship outside. It might also be a good little Rescue suttle once 3.15 comes out for in-system rescues. This little guy might not be the fastest or strongest but I think if you give it the right job it has a few advantages over some other ships.
There are two other good things about the C8 and C8x that aren’t in the stats. One, later when we have more systems (later this year?) the Pisces can have a Jump Drive installed. Secondly, even if it’s not really fast or bad high speed, it is the FASTEST ship to enter and leave planet side, through atmo. The Batterie Location is for a backup batterie. Most ships will have them in future, for emergency purposes, effectively to keep things running after catastrophic damage or running out of power. Lastly, I like the new video setup and quality! Keep it, it looks good!
It's a great box mission ship and a good space taxi. It shouldn't be your only ship but I have one in my fleet (I have no carrack though) and I love it!
I have bigger ships but I got this As my starter pack, and to use as a run about that could fit 1 or 2 extra people if I wanted to go somewhere nearby didn't want to take my bigger ships.
*Its basically a Star Trek shuttle* Perfect for the Carrack for exploration. Since it obviates the need for a Rover, you can park 2x P72 in the garage and a couple of motorcycles in cargo...
Good review as always. Not sure why you recommend the biggest Power plant, for every ship, when it is simply not needed for such a limited ship. I only purchase the powerplant with enough power to supply a full energy loadout, while maneuvering and charging, plus a little headroom. There will never be a time I need more power than that. I have never needed more power than that according to Erkul. Never had a ship warning saying low power.
That is a good point. I have been thinking about switching up my thoughts on that. I just l usually have the better safe than sorry mentality with things.
@@SubliminaLstv yeah, once you have the UEC no reason not to I guess. Especially with current depth of the game. All we make money for is to buy ship parts and fps gear. No reason not to get the best of everything. But when we have to start pinching pennies to afford a base and NPC upkeep, then things will be different. But we probably have 5 years till that is a requirement. 😁
So as has probably been said already, batteries are supposed to provide an alternative fuelling / power system where a bigger ship could charge a snub like this instead of conventional refuelling. So totally weak as this awesome little ship may be in many areas, it may be best to consider it like a little Prius that just keep going when the pumps start to run dry. It won’t be fast or glamorous but you’ll be damn glad you have it when you’re exploring remote systems in your Carrack.
I think this is an excellent logistical ship, it's not a great fighter but it can defend itself if it really needs to. But it's very compact and is good for moving people and supplies from ship to ship or from two nearby locations
Buying this ship as a standalone there are better options. Upgrading the Carrack from the C8 to C8x I think is worth it. One thing that was not mentioned in this was the very low EM that this ship has runs down at 1500em (Weapons and shields off( which should keep you out of pirate eyes down to 3000m.
Hopefully this ship will allow for modules. Adding a bed, extra jump seats, med bed, expanded missile payload, and who knows what else would make it extremely versatile.
Agree with most of this, and I also prefer the GT-210/215/220 about 99% of the time. However, for the Pisces, I have to suggest scatterguns. The reason being that the single shield generator, low speed, and slow turn rate means that your only hope of surviving actual combat in the Pisces is to get a lucky quick kill, and 4x Havocs are very good for doing exactly that. Normally, I avoid Havocs due to how fast they deplete ammo, but for the Pisces as an "oh shit" button, they're absolutely perfect. EDIT: If the ammo is really a deal breaker for you, Dominance-1's are also quite good for a size 1 weapon.
For a shuttlecraft paired with a Carrack, my number one priorities would be cargo and passenger capacity. All else would be a distant second. In that role, the Pisces wins hands down. It's what it was built for.
The only thing the Pisces is mising is a weapon rack and 1 suite locker. With that it would be really a very much complete ship. Also component access.
Thanks for many, many reviews you do. The work shows. Very professional and unique presentations. I enjoy the up close walk around, and the ten ship comparison brief is great. One suggestion, you're load outs are becoming canned. Many of us use our ships to fit our environments in this sandbox. I guess I'm looking to you to help explain the difference of the various components and when I'd use that difference to my advantage. For example the Firefox QD provides the stats for evade capabilities a small ship needs. It's cool-down stat is the priority followed by speed. Price makes it a compelling choice.
i had to get one. i dont have a carrack but something about the C8X is just super fun. i have mostly combat fighters so delivery missions are a bit of a pain and the Lancer is just too big for dicking around in atmo. so its a perfect quick cash ship
@@SubliminaLstv absolutely I really hope to see some more of that module system, the interior would be like heaven when it comes to swapping out cargo space for interesting other modules like science stations :)
I know the "retro thruster design" refers to the retro styling of the main thrusters, and not design of the true retro thrusters (which are on the front). Yet I still involuntarily groaned when I heard that. ;)
Love the vid, the only issue is that you come off as reviewing this as a fighter rather than what it is. An exploration ship. It really doesn't need a great firepower loadout or to be agile enough to dogfight in as it was designed for that aspect. To be frank, you'll use this to run deliveries and, as you've stated, to fit in the damn carrack lol, but outside of that, I agree there are better choices.

While it's SCM and top speeds aren't that great, it does have very good acceleration and is faster in atmosphere than a lot of other ships. I bought the standalone version after I'd been playing for a while and my starter ship is the Titan. While the Titan is much better in combat, I much prefer the Pisces for box missions. It just feels more nimble to fly. I've had a number of other people test fly it and till me the same thing when compared to stuff like the Aurora and Origin 300 series.
@@SubliminaLstv While it may not be possible to find this in the game files, you could measure it by setting the speed limiter to max then using a stopwatch to time how long it takes to get there with and without afterburner once you engage cruise control. (or pick a non max number like 1000 as your test point) Speed in atmosphere is pretty easy to measure too. Pick a planet or moon and an altitude to fly level at and set your speed limiter to max. Each ship will find it's own aerodynamic maximum speed and you can compare it with others at the same location and altitude. You can also test the maximum afterburn speed, but this will often result in overheats. If I remember right from my last trip, a Pisces will cruise at about 340m/s on microtech at about 1000m altitude.
I just wish it was measurable within the game files so I could have all the data at once of each ship so I can compare them without having to fly all ten ships that I use to compare spending hours measuring and recording data.
Drop the standalone price $15, put it in a game package - really competitive starter package for $45. One shield means it's fragile but it's got open room, extra seats, cargo, super easy to fly and land anywhere, 6 MFDs... I love this ship. If I'm not fighting, I'll easily pick this ship over the Mustang and Aurora (I never compare with the Titan because it's just too far superior to all other starters to even be considered in the same category)
I see it as a Star Trek Shuttle and all the cons you listed seem to be necessary if you get into combat which I normally avoid, still great video as always
Agreed! I originally decided to review it as a snub just like I did the Archimedes. However they are selling it as a game package and people are buying it and using it as their only ship.
The stats and the actual performance are very different. This thing will fly rings around a Titan. It's faster than a Cutlass and it carries more cargo AND people than an Aurora MR, while being better armed. I traded my Aurora for one and love it. It's my favorite little runabout.
what's the point of good power plants. If my power draw with weapons firing and shields charging less max capacity of the power plan I won't need any extra power?
S1 gimbals? how does that work? did they change stuff? on the aurora isn't it fixed S2-slots that become gimballed S1s? or do we have S1 to S1 gimbals now?

I do not own a carrack, but that is the reason that I bought one when they were on sale.
I love the way you do reviews , so well done, well narrated and just easy to listen to and understand. Pro grade!
your missing one major point to this ship the reason someone my want to have one as a standalone ship , its a nice small runabout , i used mine to ferry people to and from stations to 890js and carracks , great for simple box missions or picking up a buddy with a box if they had a mishap with there ship ,its size for this is a perk once you have other large ships with hangers this will be the go to ship to use to transport crew to a ship rather that landing the ship to pick up people and it has a QT to catch up if it needs too something ships like the ARGO MPUV cant do
exactly this, its also a great little investigation ship, zip off to the location investigate things, pick up the flight recorder etc and shoot home, or do a couple of local box runs.
I own this ship from the IAE sale. I like the styling of this ship. My favourite starter so far despite its limitations.
If your happy im happy 😊
if you're using the pices as a snub in the carrack, consider the atlas QT drive, for it's much shorter spool up/cooldown time. as a scootabout, that's going to be the most useful stats for a ship that stays in the same system as it's mothership
Looks like it should come with a couple red shirts for those FPS missions.
"Men...each one of you dig a hole up there..."...."Why Captain Kirk?"........."I'll tell you later"...
Even doing one at a time, its so fast to deliver in this space van.
u have really good production quality on these videos. as the game gets more popular ur channel is gonna blow up!
Thanks!! not planning to use this ship as a fighter but I put attritions on it for fun. now off to Levski for the rest.
Pisces is one of my favorite ships
the easy of access to the pilots seat and the walk in access to the ship inventory matched with its small landing footprint makes this the best bunker running ship in the game.
no internal doors or ladders between the pilot and the exit
I think a little part that is overlooked with the Pisces is that I think it is good for board missions in enemy hangers. For example, it can deliver a 3 man strike team (including the pilot) into the 890 Jumps and take the hanger right off the bat while a friend takes care of the fighters in another ship outside. It might also be a good little Rescue suttle once 3.15 comes out for in-system rescues. This little guy might not be the fastest or strongest but I think if you give it the right job it has a few advantages over some other ships.
I got this starter package. I have no regrets.
Great video. I really enjoy the format and the obvious time you put into you videos.
Thank you!
Thanks for the video Sub. , and thanks to everyone else for some really good comments in the comment section.
Thank you, agreed about the comments.
Yet one of the best ships in the game at its job.
*Its basically a Star Trek shuttle*
Perfect for the Carrack for exploration.
Since it obviates the need for a Rover, you can park 2x P72 in the garage and a couple of motorcycles in cargo...
This really is the best Box Mission runner if you're going to be running planet side and to nearby moons.
You forgot to mention it's super fast in atmosphere..perfect for box missions and smuggling.
i hope a variant of picses with very small habitation, bed and bathroom, weapon and armor rack,stash,2 scu cargo space is my dream smallest ship.
Woulda loved to see a stealth Pisces loadout option in this as a low emissions infiltration/extraction vessel.
Yep lol!
Ahh. IC
Reminds me of type-6, which was the last ship I mained in Elite.
Great build...also, suggesting a friend spends the $5 on his starter Pisces and gets the Titan
I think this is an excellent logistical ship, it's not a great fighter but it can defend itself if it really needs to. But it's very compact and is good for moving people and supplies from ship to ship or from two nearby locations
My god what a thorough review. Love it subscribing rn lol
Agreed!
Also, use Dominance shotguns on the sides, it’s very effective against bigger targets
Good video man, soooooooooooooo professionally detailed info. Love it.
Hopefully this ship will allow for modules. Adding a bed, extra jump seats, med bed, expanded missile payload, and who knows what else would make it extremely versatile.
Sub I did it, I bought this as my starter ship. It was on discount($45) and as a dumb nood I thought more = better.
This is the best ship for delivery.
your video quality is amazing. damn there official looking.
I used this only because it was way too cute to ignore.
i had to get one. i dont have a carrack but something about the C8X is just super fun. i have mostly combat fighters so delivery missions are a bit of a pain and the Lancer is just too big for dicking around in atmo. so its a perfect quick cash ship
My first package...I love this ship :) expedition version
Amazing video!
I appreciate the effort, i just love this ship because it reminds me of a star trek/star gate jumper
It has potential for its role!
@@SubliminaLstv absolutely
I really hope to see some more of that module system, the interior would be like heaven when it comes to swapping out cargo space for interesting other modules like science stations :)
I know the "retro thruster design" refers to the retro styling of the main thrusters, and not design of the true retro thrusters (which are on the front). Yet I still involuntarily groaned when I heard that. ;)
Omg I cont beleive I said that! I totally know the difference between them. Sorry!
@@SubliminaLstv It's no big deal, and I knew what you meant. It was just a rather clumsy way to put it with the potential for confusion.
It's basically Star Citizen's version of the Mass Effect Kodiak shuttle or a Star Trek Shuttle Craft ( Type 6 )
Thanks for the guide on the ship! I would love to see where you think these ships stand after making the recommend changes?
Incredible video! Your content is top notch and beautifully refined. Definitely got a new sub out of me and I look forward to watching more.
Thank you!
It’d be nice if they ditched those drop seats in favor of a bed, since it’s an “exploration” ship.
Hey brutha! Great channel man. Love the format and work u've put it in. One request only (Seerthe6th does it, another channel I love): could you put in the description the time marker of the actual start of the review? For us who already subscribe or pay it's cool to be able to jump directly to the beginning of the review :) at any rate, great work!!
Exactly what point would you like to jump to? The Overview, Tour, Pros vs Cons, or My Thoughts? Also Seer is a good dude he is who I talk to when trying to figure out what the military calls a segment of the ship.
@@SubliminaLstv Hey! Thanks for the quick reply! Awesome on Seer...yeah he has put together a great channel, but yours outlines information in a more all around "friendlier" way for new players, so kudos on that ;) As for the time stamp, just where the video actually begins (personally, I don't think you need stamps for all your sections). For example, in your brand new video (Pisces), the time stamp of the beginning is on minute 1:01. Thanks again! Keep it coming ;)
Ok great I think I'll add it to the pinned comment. I've been meaning to add a pinned comment to each video for corrections and after thoughts. I could also add a timestamps there. I'll add it to my trello workflow. Thank you!
@@SubliminaLstv roger that! good stuff man. Especially your VS series is a great idea. Helped me decide big time when it came down to Arrow vs Gladius. Anyways, looking forward to your content. Let us know if you are also thinking of starting a livestream series of Q&A with ships and such. TacticalAdvance used to do it, and it was very enjoyable. Thanks again!
I will be live streaming when 3.9 comes to wave 1 PTU on TH-cam
Amazing video. Like always..Please, Can you do the review of the sabre? Love that ship. Ty
I want to perfect the review format before doing that. I think I'm almost done!
@@SubliminaLstv and the Andromeda review?
I would love to see it too
Yes can't wait for that one.
Those engine nozzle shapes should have been put on the carrack instead of the plain round ones
well thanks for this great review. new player here and now I know now, I might want to upgrade my mustang to an Avenger titan rather than to the Pisces.
o7
Glad I could help.
"Egress" means to leave or vacate an area, "Ingress" means to enter or arrive into an area.
So since someone could both vacate and enter in through this door then my error in vocabulary isnt 100% inaccurate. However I am pretty embarrassed and learned somthing lol!
@@SubliminaLstv life is always a learning experience have pride in that you are better now then you were before and think not of embarrassment in ignorance. thank you for responding maturely to criticism most do not.
I wish I could measure acceleration within the game files. I've got people working on it.
@@SubliminaLstv While it may not be possible to find this in the game files, you could measure it by setting the speed limiter to max then using a stopwatch to time how long it takes to get there with and without afterburner once you engage cruise control. (or pick a non max number like 1000 as your test point)
Speed in atmosphere is pretty easy to measure too.
I could not agree more Sir.
I just wish it was measurable within the game files so I could have all the data at once of each ship so I can compare them without having to fly all ten ships that I use to compare spending hours measuring and recording data.
@@SubliminaLstv If it was that easy everybody would do it.
Agreed 100%!
I absolutely love this ship
Nice Video Subliminal .... n°1 !!!!
P.S : A Buyer's guide for the Hawk and a raccomandation for equip ?!?? Pls :)
Melt It!
Can confirm, bought the warbond package last year. :P
The stats and the actual performance are very different. This thing will fly rings around a Titan. It's faster than a Cutlass and it carries more cargo AND people than an Aurora MR, while being better armed.
I traded my Aurora for one and love it. It's my favorite little runabout.
Can we get an updated base hornet vid?
what's the point of good power plants. If my power draw with weapons firing and shields charging less max capacity of the power plan I won't need any extra power?
In my mind Anvil is like the Dassault Aviation of Star Citizen whereas Aegis is Lockheed Martin
This ship gives me star trek vibes, send down some people to make first contact on planet peacefully while the carrak is up there watching close.
S1 gimbals? how does that work? did they change stuff? on the aurora isn't it fixed S2-slots that become gimballed S1s? or do we have S1 to S1 gimbals now?
Yes they made size 1 size 1 gimbals now. So you can gimbal a size 1 weapon 😃
@@SubliminaLstv that's awesome :o
Amazing content as always!
Thank you!
It's kinda reminiscent of the shuttles from TNG.
Do the avengers fit inside the shuttle bay of the Carrack?
They do not - that would make the Titan far more OP than it already is, lol
I would've happily upgraded the stock Pisces that comes with the Carrack, except you can't. They're missing a beat there.
Really?
You could both at pisces release and at Carrack release. Probably can again next anniversary sale.
Agreed with @Ted
@@LordTiberius52 Ah, ok thanks. How much was the upgrade? Probably stupid money.
@@Jamie-666 seems it was a $20 CCU.
