OHHHHH YES THE ARROW! I do agree the hull strength needs to brought up. I think a big selling point of the Arrow is that you can fit nearly two of them in the space of a single Gladius or 325a. On a ship like the 890 Jump you can fit three Arrows, but only one Gladius or 325a. This is to me the most appealing aspect of the Arrow and why I have one over the Gladius.
Y'know what really sucks now is that the ammo count for the scorpion went way down from 8000 to 275 for some odd reason. This makes them almost useless for long missions.
Ryxtan agreed but in the mean time we are using the ship now. Put it back with 2 shield generators until the switch over is ready to go. In wing commander you die instantly in the PU not much better! Even the 300 serious fairs better... same category of ship.
Still using it to this day and with all its flaws it's still a boss. The thing is I rarely get hit when I fly this bad boy, but if you do you're fucked!
I already own an Arrow, I had already fitted the mass drivers but hadn't considered the cross-section aspect of cm and missiles. Great video! All the relevant, useful details, and the Erkul link!
Right now with countermeasure only working 50 percent of the time, I wouldn't worry too much. I have no issues beating all kinds of ships with arrow. I move a lot and use its agility to advantage. However, lol one size four missile is death. Thats just the way it is.
I love the Arrow and will keep it - because I love the design, it is a joy to fly, and will force you to use your agility to your advantage. Great to learn combat. But you are absolutely right, both 325a and Gladius are superior. Buffing the HP pool is my preference, it would also be in-line with the other Anvil ships being well armored.
absolutely agree with ur opinion on the Arrows state, either bring up hull, or get the shield gen back, size alone will only do so much to keep u alive, and most other ships that are competitors either have more hull or 2 shields
Get Subliminal, big fan! You're one of the most detailed and consistent content creators in the game. One thing, for size 1 QT Drive I'd suggest investigating in the Atlas. It's only a shade slower but has a shorter cool down period and a slightly better fuel economy. Interested to see what you think of it! Keep up the good work!
I just took mine out for my first atmo escape from Orison and when I kicked in the boost, hit full speed and wiped the exterior view around, all I could think was "holy shit, this is awesome". #NoRegrets
100% agree, return the 2nd shield generator or boost hp, but with gimbals they should just return the shield the nerf isn't needed, they just needed to get the signed field distances working and any other weapon type other than ballistics to be viable...guess it was easier to just ruin the arrow.
@@SubliminaLstv the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning 2, also known as Joint Strike Fighter. You must have heard of it, it has bern in a couple of games and movies by now.
The shield nerf seemed like a quick balance fix, which was needed, because everyone had an Arrow for that reason. I ended up changing mine to a Hornet, as the Hornet suits my ability better, and I already have the Buccaneer. The Arrow is a nice looking ship, and reminds me of the A-Wing in terms of combat ability - fast and difficult to hit, but made of glass.
@@SubliminaLstv Arrow's not a glass ship, but anvil is known to have heavy armor instead of shields. Armor is not modeled yet thus anvil ships suffer current meta. I'd like to say "deal with it" to all arrow owners for the time being.
As always, cool video! I prefer your content for ship reviews because your style of presentation is superior in my opinion. However, it's "Nimble" and "Gimbal"... not "Gimble" and "Nimbal". I see what happened there. Looking forward to the next one! o7
Ive been told it doesn't fit yet. Do you risk destroying either ship if you force it? Oh and I normally agree but the mass drivers are completely broken right now. Like good broken.
@@SubliminaLstv nope I watched another video with a guy popping it straight in to the parasite bay and closing and opening the doors. He didnt land it so that might be an issue. I'm not sure. The video was buy a guy called Dago Amarr
i agree with you the HP CIG should have buffed with the removal of the second shield , i personally love flying the ARROW , i love the fact that you can fit it in places , that you can fit 2 arrows in the same space as one gladius , that alone makes it a good choice , with more ships in the pipe with hangers and pads . another pro is that losing a wing doesnt mean a loss of directed DPS , you loose your missles points only which is a plus in my book
It's the only reason to consider it. For instance, in large ship hangars (890/Polaris), you can fit 3 arrows where you'd only fit 1 gladius comfortably. Unfortunately, it's significantly worse than a gladius too, largely thanks to its wet sugar paper toughness.
Fantastic review as always my friend. I LOVE the Arrow - it's fun, which is the most important factor. HOWever, the singular shield module is my biggest hesitation to recommend. In my experience, having two shields is a must. The Arrow is just too easy to take apart. One thing I can't speak to as I don't play much PvP is how much more difficult the Arrow is to hit versus the Gladius. I'm think it would be harder to land a hit - similar to how those M50's are when playing PvE. I wish they had more ship variety in the PvE missions.
I just want to note to everyone! I use to use a similar setup but looking at the stats they have decreased the damage output of the Mass Drivers from 349 to 242 and my ship is so much more frustrating
I have a feeling the Arrow will get some added functionality down the road. Maybe a little touch of real armor, maybe the turret on top will be able to be set to point defense or something, be an automated gun to pepper away faster ships in a dogfight and keep their shields from regenerating while you bring the size 3's around to bear.
I know I'm late, but, I've been pledged since 2014. Just started playing seriously this week. I have an Arrow, Freelancer, & 325 in my pledge garage - I don't remember buying the former 2 but just bought the 325 because it's amazing. Anyhow - this video really helps. And also really pisses me off that they've nerfed things so much. I see a comment saying the ammo used to be really good, 8000 rounds down to 275? And you *really* feel it. Especially as a new player. Granted I have 4k hours in Elite Dangerous so I'm no stranger to space fights with fixed weapons, FA-OFF (decoupled in SC terms) - but that low of an ammo pool is absolutely insane. Like you, I swapped my QT out for something that can take me the entire system, think I went Foxfire, because again thanks to elite, I'm plenty used to long ass travel times and would rather that than take the time to refuel, I bet they'd end up taking the same amount of time tbh. But I also had to switch to all lasers, because the ammo pool. And seeing how badly they've nerfed it really makes me sad. Yeah it's hard to hit. But not really when, like you said, there's auto-tracking stuff and missiles, etc etc. I could only imagine how much better it'd feel if I at least had another shield. I constantly have to switch full power to shields while running in the opposite direction. It makes it so much less fun than I have in my 325. That scenario was even just against MRT's... and like I said I'm not a bad combat pilot. If I was truly new to flying in space and spent $90 on that ship - I have no doubt I would have blown up by now many times and been really salty. Oh well. Great video bud. You got a subscriber out of it at least.
Another con is the folding wings, they prevent it from fitting in the Carrack. Though there are rumors they plan to make the landing gear and wing folding independent.
Yea I'm not really sure what CIG was doing when they nerfed the Arrow. The lack of the extra shield just makes it less competitive overall. There is literally no reason to no go Gladius over it. Hope they do something with it in the future, else I will probably turn mine into something else. Even though I really like the ship.
Fantastic review! I just rewatched it because I'm about to buy a new fighter ship (with aUEC in-game now that persistence is supposed to work). I'm super tired of fragile ships so I think I will pass. What are your thoughts on the Hurricane? I'd love a review of it! Its either the Hurricane or the Buccaneer for me since they cost nearly the same amount of aUEC.
OMG neither. The buccaneer is the most fragile light fighter in the game. The hurricane is poop without a second person. You should buy the Gladius. I did reviews on both the gladius and buccaneer recently.
@@SubliminaLstv Thanks so much for the reply. I saw both of those reviews you did. Both were awesome as usual. Yeah, I was thinking about the Buck because of its ridiculous firepower and similar frailty as compared to the Arrow. And, I was contemplating the Hurricane because of the increased durability and firepower. But, I think you're right: go with the tried and true Gladius. Although a part of me keeps whispering in my ear telling me to be more forward thinking and save until I can grab a Cat. That way I'll be able to make money that much quicker in the game and can eventually buy up all these ships. Delayed gratification, or new toys now? Ahh, the trials and tribulations of full lockdown under Corona virus ;)
Well you can always melt whatever you buy If you want the cat then I recommend buying the pirate aggressor pack that I mentioned in the gladius video. It comes with both the gladius and cat and that's all you ever need, plus there is a s as savings of like 40 bucks. But for now you can get the gladius and just melt it when it comes time to buy the cat or aggressor pack. Oh you have to beat level 10 of pirate storm to see this pack on the store. It's probably impossible to beat the hammerhead at the end alone but it's easy with a couple of freinds. So thats my recommendation. Gladius to pirate agressor pack.
Better and more clear videos now. Excellent. Looking for a fighter with big guns and good control. Can you look at the Hurricane? Some don't like it, but....
The first ship i wanted was an arrow. Before I even downloaded the game. I proudly fly this ship with dual vkb gnx. I don't care about shield loss. I don't get hit enough. I've ripped apart vanguard wardens in arena commander in the STOCK loadout. It took a while but I was able to roll around a warden for so long that I accidentally blew up one of his engines. Once you blow the engine on a dual engine craft, its all over but for the crying. I hit him until he popped. The arrow should never be underestimated bcz the only thing holding it back is the pilot. Its hard to know who the pilot is. Ergo, its practically impossible to know if the arrow you fight today is an ace or a noob.
During the patch this video was released in the arrow nerf hit hard people stopped flying it. However in the last few patches its been really hard to hit due to desync changes to targeting and a lot more. Its now the best PVP light fighter. Unfortunately TH-cam wont let me upload a replacement video lol.
I like the speak style on this one. Just a thought, it might be cool if at some point you did a video on ranking the various flight deck designs/experiences on various ships.
I love my arrow! I prefer it over my gladius in a dog fight. Ya it cant really take a hit but its agile enough to avoid most. I think the scanner you are talking about looks like a static pitot tube found on almost all modern day aircraft. Great video
Until something is done about its paper thin survivability (I'm talking soaking wet sugar paper levels of thin), it's the LEAST viable light fighter in the game. There are other fighters with better gun loadouts, more missiles, or equal or better agility and they're ALL tougher than the arrow. 325a was mentioned, it's much better at nearly the same price. Hawk is more agile and has a stronger loadout (but lacks missiles). Gladius has more missiles, twice the shield, and much more health/armor for a piddling penalty to agility in comparison and is actually FASTER than the arrow in a straight line. And while the new Talons don't pull the same damage potential, they DO seem to be as or more agile, MUCH faster, and still have 2 shield generators.
Out of the light fighters: I find the Arrow to be the most beautiful, the Gladius seems to be the most well rounded, and the Reliant Tana to be a really neat Mini-Gunship. I'm not sure how I am to choose between these three amazing ships.
Been considering with friends about getting a Polaris ever since they reduced that crew count (24 was making me cringe). My biggest gripe is that it has a hangar that takes up a LOT of internal space, but can only fit a limited number of useful ships. But I saw a post somewhere where someone had fit up to 6 (tightly packed) arrows into the Polaris hangar, and could fit 2 or 3 comfortably. I hated the idea of only 1 escort fighter (flies in the face of everything I know about dogfighting not to have buddies to cover your ass), so the Arrow is EXTREMELY appealing for that reason. But the arrow still remains, to me, the least useful light fighter - or fighter in general - of all the fighters in the game with only 1 shield generator and paper thin health/armor... with auto gimbals and generally slower, tighter flight models, the arrow's just not that hard to hit anymore... so why have 3 arrows if they're all scrap metal 5 minutes into the first dogfight when I could have a sabre or other medium fighter that might actually live long enough to pay for itself...
The size has to be bigger if they raise the hp. We cant just throw the relationship between physical dimensions and what would actually fit in something out the window. Thats why bigger ships are tougher, because they carry more mass. good video otherwise, but the nerfs or buffs have to make sense with our physical world. thx
i used to really like the arrow but i ended up choosing other fighters over it maybe some day ill get one i dont see why they had to nerf it i was getting rekt buy all sorts of ships before they removed the second shield generator but mostly ones that were a tier or two above the arrow so i guess it makes sense but still i agree with you that it there nerf of taking away the second shield generator doesnt make much sense i think they could have done something else to balance it
I just wish there was a way to lower the landing gear without folding the wings. I have a carrack and this would pair nicely if I needed a ship with more punch....
I know..... but the aesthetic part of me is wanting an anvil ship in an anvil ship.... but the bucc would be a massive “oh S***” moment for those who wanted to take down a carrack.
And I agree about the HP pool. Maybe make a special shield for the arrow that has slightly more hp than the average size 1. What I personally think should happen is a competition between two companies.... like you showed between the Gladius and Arrow. Instead of nerfing the arrow have Aigis come out with their answer..... that’s how it would be in RL.....
I understand the aesthetics I'd do the same. And manufacturer rivalries do exist in real life. STI vs EVO for example. RIP EVO. A rivalry like that in this game would be great because it would start a conversation. And hype. And fan boys.
Oh trust me, I know the rivalry between the STi and EVO... I use to own a Wrex. And I miss that rivalry and would love it in a game format. Then both would be obtainable and consistently facing off in the PU. Which makes for great content like you said. And your right.... I wish Mitsubishi could make a profit to bring back the EVo. Even tho I was a subi guy for years I still respected the hell out of the evo.... and will admit to the evo 9 being better..... lolz
The voyage is faster and cheaper. The atlas has slightly more range but It doesn't matter to me because I'm going to refuel every time I land. Why land every time? Because the game could crash at any moment and I'd like to be able to get back into the game nearest to my destination.
As a single engine, single shield, compact fighter I can see why the Arrow might appeal to UEE naval doctrine over the Gladius, in lore. Like, the Arrow is instant coffee while the Gladius is the full brew. It's still caffeine, and the military will always choose the lowest bidder.
Perhaps but they also don't like having to dispose of mountains of spare parts and technician training, so unless the new ship is giving a lot more bang for the buck and the old ship can still do the job, they won't change.
I dont exactly know what that pointy thing is at the front....bc its a space ship. But it might be similar to a Pitot probe used in atmospheric flight similar to irl aircraft? but then Im guessing
Ossie Clark What you mean is the elevator feel probe on a tail stabilizer. Even though it also measures pressure to simulate feel on the controls it is not a pitot tube. The pitot tube is a small tube on the outside of aircraft pointed forward in which air enters. This air consisting of static pressure (by air being physically there) and dynamic pressure (created by moving, like the pressure you feel when you hold your hand out of the window in a car). Since its pointing forward it measures static + dynamic = total pressure. In addition there is a hole on the side of an aircraft fuselage called a static port. This hole only measures static pressure as it is not pointed forward (or not pointed into where the air comes from). By putting these against each other gives an equation where total press (from the pitot tube) - static press (from the static port) = dynamic pressure. Dynamic pressure is directly related to speed and therefore the pointer on an aircraft speed indicator will move based on the in-/decrease of this dynamic pressure to indicate what speed you are going.
And to ruin that lecture it cannot be a pitot tube on the Arrow as putting it in front of the aircraft will give inaccurate readings. The pressure is highest in front because that is where the most air resistance is, hence the reason the pitot tube is attached where its in the boundary layer of air passing the aircraft.
Bro we need you to compare all the exploration and touring ships before the Idris and Polaris are out in the verse doin everything.. blurring the lines of functionality even more.. uh it's all good tho.. even if it's an extra long list ... the verse needs u to make this list.. You are appreciated man
Which means it would also be extremely helpfull to also know what amenities each ship has such as beds and features for extended survivability now that food has been implemented..
totally agree. arrow is sexy and fun but they have to boost it a little. the problem is that if u want a ship to enter quick do damage and go u have the bucc; almost same hp and 900 more damage...
Sub: The Talon is in the same class with two shield generators. How's it that balance now? Something seems terribly wrong with that. I still think the wrong should be righted with restoring the yank shield generator? The Talon recks the arrow right now... How's that fair balance?
I fly the arrow and love it for pvp. An extra shield gen would be a nice to have, but I belive the justification is based on the hit box. The arrow is a compact, very hard to hit target as you know. Where as the talon is huge by comparison. All the little wingy bits make for a great pancake (top) target for the arrow. I think the ranges involved also have something to do with it. The talon is generally recommended to stay at long range with its larger weapons so that agility doesn't actually get used too often... if you're designing a ship for longer ranges you need to buff its shields bcz now your allowing other longer ranged guns to have a great application potential against it. The arrow with a good pilot will utterly negate the above by closing in with a rolling skid attack and then never ever let go of its prey. At least thats what I do against wardens. Thats why subliminal has said on stream that he sees the talon as a pve ship, and arrow as a pvp ship. The talon makes farming bots from afar easy.
The arrow is the best PVP light fighter period right now. The talon only wrecks it on paper. With the current state of the games dsync and server issues you cant hit an arrow if the pilot is even remotely good. They need to keep it this way for now. When I made this servers were in a better place and auto gimbals were meta. It was easy to take one down.
@@SubliminaLstv I would love to see you face down in an arrow a friend or Org mate in a Talon equal in Skill a pilot of worth, a best out of 7 PVP Battle. After that, if your opinion remains the same I will relent on my opinion something not quite right. I'm Old School show me. Love your content by the way I've set up a lot of my ships based on your advice. Please keep streaming great content.
Yeah finding 2 pilots of equal skill is the problem. If you want me to show you how good the arrow is at PVP just take a look at the PVP streamers. MoistNoodle, RedLir, Captain Berks, the DarkLaw. They will be in either a Vanguard or Arrow while PVPing or player bounty hunting. Correction the darklaw says the talon is better in space. Arrow is better in atmo. I'm going to ask all of them lol
We're still waiting on armour and physicalised components so there's hope yet. Being a single engined ship fighter the engine housing could be extra tough of give resistance to emp for example
No dps isn't everything. That would be to easy. Using auto gimbals allows you to hit the target so much better. When you use gimbals instead of fixed, you have to go down a size in weapon size. This lowers dps. However you will do more damage because most of your shots will hit. ALSO Mass Drivers got nerfed in 3.9 after I made this vid. Use GT-Series or Neutron Repeaters (Close Range Fighting).
That turret acts as a gimbal. So go with 2 size ones no need to gimbal those weapons. Id keep the fire rates the same. So either a full GT-Series loadout or full nuetrons.
Arrow is a great flyer. I am not sure about your weapon suggestion though. I would run all mass drivers or all repeaters. Adding a pair of neutrons is pointless as the range is abysmal compared to the mass drivers. But if you are going to get in that close in why not just go with all repeaters of the same range capability. Or since the Arrow is nimble enough to get in close and big ships will never get a nose on it, run scatters. Tons of damage at close range. All ballistic scatters gets you gimbaled 3000DPS. Or since they are scatters and aiming at close range is less of a problem, all fixed s3 scatters will get you over 3600DPS. That is devestating.
@@SubliminaLstvyeah neutrons are great repeaters but i just meant mixing long range slow fire with short range repeaters is not what I would recommend, but to each their own.
I think that's becuase in order to be the best light fighter you can't have more space or another seat. It's like comparing two F1 cars and mentioning that you can't tote groups geoceries. Three years ago when I made this video i had to compare this ship to others simply because cause their weren't very many ships.
what the heck am I missing withe firing missiles.. isn't it middle mouse button?? Also I am confused. the suggestions you did in the video seem to be different than the link to erkul.games??
There is a minimum firing distance for missiles now. Its displayed on the bottom right of your hud. For most missiles its 1000m some 2000m. This is probably your issue. And as far as the load-out link they will always change because the game is always changing.
So I am about to become a citizen, I want to be a solo bounty hunter...I've been watching your reviews to decide what ship would be the best, I am in between the Arrow and the Avenger, maybe the Mantis...which do you think would suit me best and if none of these can you give me a recommendation for the right starter ship for bounty hunting..ty! i love your channel btw
They're not interested in increasing the hull HP for the same reason shield holes aren't a priority: those systems are being reworked from the ground up. Personally, I'd rather they just focus on the new shield tech and physical damage model instead of spending time tuning numbers that are going to be thrown away later.
Ryxtan if what you said it true why did they alter the ship to begin with? We are using the ship now auto aim is the equalizer put it back if fun was suppose to be the point. Taken fun away is not cool just like taken jump town away not cool.
@@jchardy007 what he mention is true, shield tech is getting reworked and is up for 3.9 or 4.0 patch cant recall which one, also armour tech is somewhere on the horizon and will be a big game changer as now we have to think less about "HP" and more on a ship sustainability as it goes in and out of combat and its armour gets shredded and componets get damaged. Also If I recall correctly ships HP is suppose to be a reflection of its armour so maybe the Arrow will have light armour which I also think might affect its weight and overall performance and thus line up with lore and the reason it has such a high top speed and high rate of turn. All in all, two major game tech will change how we play the game at least that how I see it. Dropping the 1 shields I feel puts the Arrow into it own unique category which is about offering speed and agility over the Gladius more baseline. approach.
Mobius Reaper that maybe so but as auto-aim nerves, the ability to shake opposing fighters shooting at you defeats all those so call advantages. Plus, In a lot of cases, one missile hit is instant death with countermeasures seemly not working, especially cross-section missiles zero countermeasures. At least with the 2nd shield generator, you can enjoy the ship now. Vs. It becoming useless...
@@jchardy007 I slightly disagree with auto-gimbel negating the Arrows advantages. With high manuvering targets Auto gimbel still requires "a degree" of effort on the players end. Also auto gimbel comes with the inherent trade off of a potential higher dps and range due to having to come. down a grade to utilize. Now while that isnt a major factor now cause they still need to work on ESP to make fixed more relevant again, the Arrow itself in proper hands can keep itself out of the gimbel zone. I personally have never been KO'd by a single missile before in an Arrow with full shields or moderately weak ones either and that using basic componets, as well counter measures seems to still work, ofc CRS missiles have no hard counter so I'll agree with that and honestly there is no hard counter for CRS besides design and distance. All in all, I see CIG laying down the ground work for future tech to come on line. Which like I stated will greatly increase mentality of how we fight at least that's how I see it and I hope that's the case. For me the Arrow is still fun to utilize for it attributes, it's not trying to be another ship by being all rounder but it's own uniqueness. If all fighter toted the same "stats" then there be no real difference between em.
I have both, the Arrow and the 325a and yes the 325a (thus also the gladius)is far Superior, especially when equipped with ballistics, the Arrow can barely handle mid tier bounty contracts and even the AI will often kill you because of the low HP, let me elaborate: at the mid Tier contract level where you get about 15k for suspect apprehension you most likely will encounter a cutlass black or a freelancer, ur weapons are so anemic that it will take about 30sec to kill a target like that, now they almost always have at least one AI sporting ballistic weapons like scatterguns, so in the time you kill them they make direct damage to ur hull, since the arrow has such low HP that means that at the end of the fight u usually are so damaged or have lost weapon systems that u need to repair so u can not run the next mission, losing time and thus money. The 325a is beautyful, i advise for full size weapons (2x s3 and 1x s4!!) and you can do every pve Mission and even PvP, in my opinion the 325a is the best fighter/interceptor you can get for that money and it has a huuuuge advantage over the gladius and almost every other ship its size, it has a bed. So everybody who is looking for a potent Fighter that can do a bit more and has some interior space, should go for the 325a (especially if you buy it with the ballistic loadout from Origin for 20bucks more)
Don't bother renting any ship except for the shortest period of time because you cannot change or upgrade any modules or weapons in them. Keep saving your credits for purchasing your ship and you can upgrade that to your hearts content.
My format for reviews don't work with concept ships because there is no game data for them. And there are enough content creators speculating out there. I have pretty much vowed to not turn my channel into that.

absolutely agree with ur opinion on the Arrows state, either bring up hull, or get the shield gen back, size alone will only do so much to keep u alive, and most other ships that are competitors either have more hull or 2 shields

100% agree, return the 2nd shield generator or boost hp, but with gimbals they should just return the shield the nerf isn't needed, they just needed to get the signed field distances working and any other weapon type other than ballistics to be viable...guess it was easier to just ruin the arrow.

I just dont believe Anvil would make a glass ship. I'm confident it will get a pass when physicallised armor is a thing.
@@SubliminaLstv That could change a lot of things with many ships, and I imagine everything will need a balance pass.
@@SubliminaLstv Arrow's not a glass ship, but anvil is known to have heavy armor instead of shields.
Armor is not modeled yet thus anvil ships suffer current meta.
I'd like to say "deal with it" to all arrow owners for the time being.
Love your videos. Really helpful. Many thanks.
I believe Arrow is Apex Wraith of Star Citizen. A very agile glass cannon. In the right hands, she can evade everything.
As always, cool video! I prefer your content for ship reviews because your style of presentation is superior in my opinion.
However, it's "Nimble" and "Gimbal"... not "Gimble" and "Nimbal". I see what happened there.

🚀🚀IMPORTANT STUFF BELOW🚀🚀
NEW LOADOUT!!! - subliminal.gg/anvilarrowloadout/
Spend the $15 to upgrade to the Gladius... I HAVE SPOKEN!
Is the $15 upgrade really that important? Plus how does this compare to the Valiant Gladius?
Nevermind, tried both and I get it, bye cutty black for now
Totally agree. I want to switch from the 325a to the arrow but just can’t go through with it as is.
I prefer energy loadouts. I absolutely hate running out of ammo. The fact this ship fits in the bay for the Carrack makes this a must have for me.
Never realized how tiny it was until you did the walk around.
Thats what she said.
It's the only reason to consider it. For instance, in large ship hangars (890/Polaris), you can fit 3 arrows where you'd only fit 1 gladius comfortably. Unfortunately, it's significantly worse than a gladius too, largely thanks to its wet sugar paper toughness.
I just pledged and your videos have been great.
Agreed!
Yeah armor will change everything
Arrow is the SC Tie Fighter. It is a death trap, but good pilots, or expendable ones can put it to good use.
Agreed.
@SubliminaL
The panels you highlight at 3:27 that you don’t know what to call...
Within IRL aircraft, those are known as Annunciator Panels
The "indicator panels" you mention @3:26 are called "annunciator panels" or "annunciators".

WOW Great job on another ship breakdown.
Ty!
Another con is the folding wings, they prevent it from fitting in the Carrack. Though there are rumors they plan to make the landing gear and wing folding independent.
I've heard the same
I do love when things are nimbal. Nimble lol
Been missing your videos bro! My favorite content! Keep em coming lol
Thank you!
@@SubliminaLstv You're Welcome.. Made buying easy lol
Thanks, keep em coming ! I like the arrow but tots agree the nerf of the shield was harsh
Also if the arrow fit in the carrack and this whole other smaller size hangars that might make it more valuable
Once they allow it to land with the wings down it will fit!
@@SubliminaLstv A tight fit but yeah!!, i wasn't sure if that was just rumors or a for-sure-thing.
Agreed!
Good video. Agree, it needs more survivability. I melted mine.
Ty!
Ooo, you might have just killed my enthusiasm for this . If the Gladius is a competitor and had two shield generators I think I'll go with that
Better and more clear videos now. Excellent. Looking for a fighter with big guns and good control. Can you look at the Hurricane? Some don't like it, but....
@subliminal - That scanner you mentioned at 2:14 is called a pitot tube which are used on every aircraft to determine its airspeed.
Its such a fun ship to fly and battle with its just too fragile
Agreed!
the area for the warning lights is called an annunciator.
Your videos kicking the ass ! i love it ! ;D
Awesome dude I love the arrow keep it going dude.
Thank you!
I like the speak style on this one.
Just a thought, it might be cool if at some point you did a video on ranking the various flight deck designs/experiences on various ships.
That on the front is a data related gameplay if i am not mistaken, it may be able to be used to hack other ship systems
Hmmm interesting
Another awesome video. Thanks
Yw!
Can you do an updated video please 🙏
I love my arrow! I prefer it over my gladius in a dog fight. Ya it cant really take a hit but its agile enough to avoid most. I think the scanner you are talking about looks like a static pitot tube found on almost all modern day aircraft. Great video
Oh and the breton power plant was fixed it works fine, I've been using it since last patch. It doesn't completely wreck your ship anymore
Pitot tube? I just thought about it maybe its refueling!
Thanks for the heads up about the breton.
If you're going to get a 'small' fighter, id say this is the one to get! A great little ship indeed!
Great editing.
Ty!
I'd love a redo of the Aquila :)
I would love to see the connie series in this new review format.
Out of the light fighters: I find the Arrow to be the most beautiful,
the Gladius seems to be the most well rounded, and the Reliant Tana to
be a really neat Mini-Gunship. I'm not sure how I am to choose between
these three amazing ships.
Question... If i upgrade my arrow to all the stuff shown on this very informative video when i die will i get to keep all my upgrades ? (3.10)
Yes
The bit on the nose is likely a comms antenna for UHF.
Thats why bigger ships are tougher, because they carry more mass. good video otherwise, but the nerfs or buffs have to make sense with our physical world. thx
i used to really like the arrow but i ended up choosing other fighters over it maybe some day ill get one i dont see why they had to nerf it i was getting rekt buy all sorts of ships before they removed the second shield generator but mostly ones that were a tier or two above the arrow so i guess it makes sense but still i agree with you that it there nerf of taking away the second shield generator doesnt make much sense i think they could have done something else to balance it
Noice - I needed a SC fix today
Hope it lives up to your expectations!
SubliminaL always - you put out great content and commentary
Ty!
I hope you can do a review of the Vanduul Blade
It's going to be though to get my hands on one. And I'd really like to own one before I I review it.
What are your thoughts on the Rattler Missiles? I have them on my Tana and it is insane, but I am really interested in your take.
I just wish there was a way to lower the landing gear without folding the wings. I have a carrack and this would pair nicely if I needed a ship with more punch....
Agreed! I'm pretty sure the buccaneer fits and it has 2 shield generators and more punch.
I know..... but the aesthetic part of me is wanting an anvil ship in an anvil ship.... but the bucc would be a massive “oh S***” moment for those who wanted to take down a carrack.
Even tho I was a subi guy for years I still respected the hell out of the evo.... and will admit to the evo 9 being better..... lolz
Why recommend the Voyage over the Atlas? The Atlas is the best all-round size 1 quantum drive unit.
The voyage is faster and cheaper. The atlas has slightly more range but It doesn't matter to me because I'm going to refuel every time I land. Why land every time? Because the game could crash at any moment and I'd like to be able to get back into the game nearest to my destination.
Great video!
Love the vids! Keep it up! I would like to know which one to buyt between the Arrow and the Gladius?
Gladius!
@@SubliminaLstv What about Gladius and Buccaneer?
@@SubliminaLstv thanks dude, I was thinking the same! You rock!
As a single engine, single shield, compact fighter I can see why the Arrow might appeal to UEE naval doctrine over the Gladius, in lore. Like, the Arrow is instant coffee while the Gladius is the full brew. It's still caffeine, and the military will always choose the lowest bidder.
Hmmm
Perhaps but they also don't like having to dispose of mountains of spare parts and technician training, so unless the new ship is giving a lot more bang for the buck and the old ship can still do the job, they won't change.
I dont exactly know what that pointy thing is at the front....bc its a space ship. But it might be similar to a Pitot probe used in atmospheric flight similar to irl aircraft?
but then Im guessing
Antennae
WTF Is a Pitot Probe? Second time someone mentioned it. I thought he misspelled somthing.
Pitot tube measures external pressure to provide a manual feedback on the flight controls
You are appreciated man
Because the citizens need to know how far they can go and who and what they can take with them!
Which means it would also be extremely helpfull to also know what amenities each ship has such as beds and features for extended survivability now that food has been implemented..
I just started 2 days ago. I bought the freelancer pack, and in the ship retrieval screen I also have an arrow. is this normal? I didnt buy it
hi! i just started playing, have they drastically reduced ballistic ammo counts? cause i only have 295 rounds in the arrow im flying?
Yes, but they do stupid damage. It's still not viable because you run out so quick.
A good one to start in Star CItizen ?! I really love dog fight and the look of that ship .
totally agree. arrow is sexy and fun but they have to boost it a little. the problem is that if u want a ship to enter quick do damage and go u have the bucc; almost same hp and 900 more damage...
Agreed!
Auto gimbal won't be sticking around. Having said that Anvil ships are supposed to be tough.
Agreed
We're still waiting on armour and physicalised components so there's hope yet. Being a single engined ship fighter the engine housing could be extra tough of give resistance to emp for example
I notice the erkul loadout in the link is different to the one in the video, is this because you update it each patch?
Yes!
are these still relevant?
followed your guide on the 325a IM FUCKING LOVING IT about to upgrade the arrow fully aswell as thats just my fav ship
SOo i noticed thge dps on your build was way lower than the stock build. Arent we shooting for high dps? Im new
No dps isn't everything.
SubliminaL thanks! Also is the turret on the arrow that allows 2 s1 weapons gimbaled? Or is it a better idea to swap it for a gimbaled s2 weapon
That turret acts as a gimbal. So go with 2 size ones no need to gimbal those weapons. Id keep the
fire rates the same.
Sorry I did recommend mass drivers just said the neutrons where an honorable mention.
@@SubliminaLstvyeah neutrons are great repeaters but i just meant mixing long range slow fire with short range repeaters is not what I would recommend, but to each their own.
I think the nerf puts it in line, even if it's unpopular it was a good move the ship needs a weakness but it's one skill can mitigate a little.
I have a question/ idea:
Can you do a review of the Arrow model kit made by JRDF?
That would be some nice addition : )
Oh wow if they send me one sure but I'm not paying for it.
One major con nobody's talking about is the zero space since its a single seat fighter
I think that's becuase in order to be the best light fighter you can't have more space or another seat. It's like comparing two F1 cars and mentioning that you can't tote groups geoceries. Three years ago when I made this video i had to compare this ship to others simply because cause their weren't very many ships.
More than likely it’s some type of sensor/radar or a refueling port for mid flight. Refueling would make more sense though.
Could also be a pitot tube
what the heck am I missing withe firing missiles.. isn't it middle mouse button??
Also I am confused. the suggestions you did in the video seem to be different than the link to erkul.games??
There is a minimum firing distance for missiles now. Its displayed on the bottom right of your hud. For most missiles its 1000m some 2000m. This is probably your issue. And as far as the load-out link they will always change because the game is always changing.
@@SubliminaLstv thanks for the reply! You just earned a sub :)
That makes sense. I didnt realize you actively update the load out! Thank you
So I am about to become a citizen, I want to be a solo bounty hunter...I've been watching your reviews to decide what ship would be the best, I am in between the Arrow and the Avenger, maybe the Mantis...which do you think would suit me best and if none of these can you give me a recommendation for the right starter ship for bounty hunting..ty! i love your channel btw
I was also looking at the Hornet series, they don't have the super for a starter but i thought the tracker or ghost might be good for BH?
Can you update the 325a please
I think I may but I might use the old footage and record new dialog.
They're not interested in increasing the hull HP for the same reason shield holes aren't a priority: those systems are being reworked from the ground up. Personally, I'd rather they just focus on the new shield tech and physical damage model instead of spending time tuning numbers that are going to be thrown away later.
I agree but can imagine it's not a slider that can be slid. But if not I agree with 100%
Ryxtan if what you said it true why did they alter the ship to begin with?
So everybody who is looking for a potent Fighter that can do a bit more and has some interior space, should go for the 325a (especially if you buy it with the ballistic loadout from Origin for 20bucks more)
What's the problem with the Breton right now?
I've gotten multiple reports that it just dies.
DO SABRE PLEASE!
Look for it after I review the prospector.
