No, Willie Dixon is a blues giant... Muddy Waters was a blues giant... You need to get some ears, because there is nothing "GIANT" about one more black guy playing blues dressed in psychadelic clothes. My 2 cents
There's a famous clip of Albert King claiming that Jimi Hendrix couldn't play the blues. I mean Hendrix was different from the blues in general but here he shows that he has some blues chops for sure. It is such a loss that Hendrx died young. As he grew and matured there was some great stuff to come. Dammit.
I think king was upset that Jimi passed him in such a short amount of time but AK did say that Hendrix gave him some licks on blues at sunrise at filmore in 68
@@ahenders81I’d say parts of this can definitely rival the recorded version (a testament to its unreal quality). The licks are just sublime across the board.

@@jameshendee4489having money doesn’t mean you can’t have Blues. Blues is a feeling and expression of a downpour in your life. No, because money can’t free anyone from that.
He played this joint around the same tempo in Ottawa '68. Totally went off the rails with the intro for like 15 mins...band didn't seem to know what was going on...legendary.

Something tells me that after the psychedelia of the 60s, the 70s would have been Gibsons all the way for Jimi. More bluesy soulful sound in those later tunes. I bet in from the storm on this SG would have been 🔥
You forgot Blind Lemon Jefferson (1930s) I think, who was actually one of the first blues guitarists, and anyhoo what's wrong with Jimi Hendrix? suppose u don't like Clapton, Page, Blackmore, Joe Bonnamassa, Samantha Fish either. Least they're carrying on the blues.

I think Hendrix sounded great on a Gibson! This may be one of his best live examples live playing with a semi- clean sound. Love it!
As a Les Paul guy, I totally agree
What a Blues giant he was, he is! Thanks for the remastered sound

Yea I thought Albert king sounded like a bit of a hater there. Like how is this not blues
Who the hell is Hendricks ?
@@Dad-Gad Stupid voice input. Hendrix of course. Jimmi!
@@Reverend_X thats just how alot of the old blues guys were. they couldnt understand the new generations blues
This is the best Hendrix on a Gibson video I’ve found yet.
He plays a Gibson at Isle of Wight festival 👍
@@Dad-Gadyep Flying V
There's footage with a flying V
MAUI is really great, too. (Gibson V). He was in such a good mood.
This is the definitive version of Red House in my opinion. Always loved this video.
It's great and great to see him playing this live, but im afraid it cannot hold a candle to the recorded version, which is an absolute masterpiece.

SAN DIEGO is my favorite.
Jimi was and is the baddest guitar player of all time.
The only musician to make me cry’s actual tears of joy…
Me too on many occasion
Greatest blues guitarist ever, period. Legend, so emotional.

Jimi wasn’t a blues guitarist, he just decided to write a blues song.

The sound of Jimi on an sg is the best sound ever
simply briljant
Мега Гитарист ,Сверх Человек!!! 🙏
and what a rhythm duo behind him...they were brilliant too.
For real dude they are killing it!
Simply the greatest guitarplayer ever!
I love Hendrix what a guitar 🎸 player love this version of the song .

Move over Rover Let Jimi take over
Even Jimi is struggling with SG neck dive
Starts a full tone higher, appears to change his mind and go down a tone for the rest of the song.
It’s bc Noel played the first not a full tone lower so he adjusted to be in tune with him
I think you guys mean note not tonr

Yep. The red wine found in his mouth had been tipped in after he died. 😢 very disturbing
Yes it sucks. I heard his lungs were full of wine… that’s called murder…

Surprised no one commenting on how FAT Noel reddings bass tone is
Noel Redding's bass tone is really fat.
That bass sounds as dirty as Jimi's guitar. Great!
