WWE Legend and leader of "The Brood" Gangrel "The Vampire Warrior talks about an incident that occurred in Japan where it was set up that a martial arts expert would shoot on him in a match without his prior knowledge allegedly as payback for a sexual harassment incident promoter Victor Quiñones performed on Gangrel that the Vampire Warrior did not react well to.

Met him on plane to Chicago a couple of months ago. Such a nice guy. Really didn't talk to him until the end of the flight, but he was very gracious and personable. Didn't blow you off like some of the guys will.
I’ve heard this from people. My buddy met him and he was so cool that he wanted to keep talking after the autograph signing. Said gangrel told him he loves talking to fans because they make him show why he loves the business.
Watched him throughout the Attitude Era and this is the first time I remember hearing him talk.
He used to say Blood is thicker than water

This is the first time I heard him talk 20 years after first seeing him. Loved his entrance music!
Gangrel is such a fun interview - a very friendly guy. Love hearing about him from others in the Attitude era - that talk pretty highly about the guy. Very laid back and friendly.
He's currently my wrestling trainer , Down to earth but serious about the Craft.
We’ve been able to enjoy the training from some maniacs filming a CCW training - he is awesome and very attentive. The little I’ve seen of his regular students, they are definitely well-trained.
I miss gangrel lifting DDT, he did better than edge.

I'm almost certain they were smart, and called it The Impaler DDT. At least that's how I remember it in WWF Attitude on N64 LOL.
Gangrel was one of my favorites in the late 90s. His entrance; the flames, him (and the brood) rising up through the floor, and of course, the music were some of the best ever.
A few years ago I had the chance to see gangrel live at an Action Wrestling outdoor show in Tyrone, Georgia. It was awesome and after the match he just hung out and chatted up anybody who approached him.
would love to see that footage of Gangrel beating up the karate guy.

oh god yh, wrestlemania 2000 for the N64!! Me and my friends used to spend hours on that game, especially creating our own wrestlers. The Attitude era was the best
Bill Proud Yes, I loved that game! I had to repair an N64 power supply at my aunt's house just to get it to go. Luckily, I still ended up with the game though.
It really was, and they weren't really able to keep that feverish pace going for very long. With the world changing so much post attitude era, the PG era makes sense. But I wasn't really happy about it.
The reason the attitude era was so good was because they had WCW trying to beat them in the ratings war so they were constantly on their toes. By the way if you haven't seen the Monday Night War DVD boxset, I honestly HIGHLY recommend it! WWE just doesn't have that competition anymore, they seemed to have grown complacent over the last decade
Hannibal videos deserves to find a much bigger audience than they currently do, his shoots are right up there with kayfabe commentaries.
The Brood had the best entrance in the Attitude Era. It was so cool the music was badass and the way they came up through the flames.

If he was 20 years younger he would be the "top guy" at wwe right now. His "era" was so stacked he was over and still didnt get pushed.

Gangrel vs Godfather was the first wrestling match I ever saw live.
I remember reading in an old issue of the Observer from like September 1993 and The Vampire Warrior had a backstage fight with someone but I thought I read it happened in a Florida territory

I got to train and work shows with Dave quite a few times. He’s as down to earth and genuine as he appears in these interviews. And very appreciative when I bandaged him up when he got color in Fresno on night.

The Brood theme song just be the best theme in the entire Attitude Era. No one had a song that menacing.

The Brood has the best entrance in wrestling. Gangrel is underrated too, thought he fit perfectly. Great worker, could have been given time on the mic to develop his character further.

A lot Of Wrestlers Know How To Fight and grapple good and are quite dangerous don't pick a fight with one! Whether you are a Boxer, Grappler, kickboxer, Muay Thai, Traditional Stylist, ShootFighter or Even An MMA Dude Its not wise to fuck with Certain Pro Wrestlers goodness gracious man...If He Was Traing With Guys From he original UWF then he definetly wasn't no joke in a fight. I was a Shootfighter and I fought some so yeah I wouldn't mess with Gangrel.
That's not to mention that their bodies are designed opposite of MMA fighters: Pro-wrestlers specifically build their bodies (and muscle mass) to specifically TAKE hits and bumps. They build up that mass to soften blows and landings, like a human punching bag. So you're absolutely right that they're not the kind of people you want to get into a real tussle with, especially if -- as you mentioned -- they have some background or legitimate training in grappling or martial arts. It's essentially getting into a fight with a 235+ lbs human punching bag that can hit back as hard as they can get hit.

I'm kind of missing part of the story. When karate man went to kick, Gangrel dodged and lumped him one?
Basically he was kicking gangrel in the corner but hit him one too many times, gangrel got mad; punch him in the face and started beating the karate guy.

He worked a guy here, Vegas something and a similar situation where they asked Gangrel to do a non finish in front of like 12 people with a very green guy but did his job like a pro and told some great stories after. I can't say enuf good things about Gangrel.

I think it is silly to suggest that being a fan of MMA as opposed to professional wrestling somehow makes someone more mature or more sophisticated. And also, clearly if a wrestling fan is watching a video like this, they are fully aware that wrestling is scripted. Behind-the-scenes videos like this are about the inner-workings of wrestling and assume that the viewer is well aware of the nature of the business. But I really don't understand why you'd make such a comment in reply to this video, which has nothing to do with the video's content.
