Great that being able to lower the bike is a built in feature. The linkage is a lever, so lengthening it to lower the bike gives more leverage which in turn softens suspension. When I first put raising links in the V-Strom it stiffened the suspension. Your scissor lift looks handy.
thanks for taking the time to show this, Bazz. Am going to leave behind a DRZ400 to get on one of these 450's .Are you still impressed with this bike after how many klms? Any shortcomings? thanks Martin
Very good instructional video. Interested to hear your thoughts of how much of a ground clearance compromise this will be when you and the lads are out there doing a bit of bush bashing. Thks.
Hi, Thank you for this video. I was wondering if there is way to make the bike even lower, to some 78-76cm's. I am just 170cm (and 72years, clumsy old man) and I feel the bike at 80cm a little high for me. So far I have been driving some 2000km and I still love it.
Great video Bazz - thanks. I am 5’7” (170) so need this. Just wondering that if you are only changing the front bolt to the other hole position - why do you need to remove the rear dog bone bolt? I am sure it is obvious but just haven’t worked that out. Cheers
@monst00 Thanks for watching, the dog bone was blocking the bolt from coming out. There may be a position where it's not but everyone I've seen do this has ended up removing it.
Great Instruction Bazz gets to see instruction from an Aussie guy. I'm thinking of purchasing the CF Moto 450 and wondering if you would know the cost of servicing mainly the 40000 service where valves have to be checked or adjusted? The dealers don't give you an actual cost. Any info on servicing cost would be greatly appreciated.
@BradWolff-j4s Thanks, mate. I payed $300 au for the irst service. Not sure about 40,000 service. It will definitely be a lot more. I better start saving for it in advance. You will love the bike, it is a lot of fun.
Hi Bazz (dirt newbe here) any tyre suggestions/recommendations for a good adventure tyre where you dont need to lower the bike and still maintain similar height as stock 450 mt tyres?
Hi mate , remember you riding your friends bike with a 15/42 sprocket ratio. Was wondering how that performs in the dirt in low gear, does it still have enough torque/acceleration.
@bazz6670 we are about the same height then. The higher seat you put on made the bike about 5cm taller right? Cheers for sharing the mods on the MT 450. We still have to wait until October for it to arrive here. Gives us time to check out everything before we buy😉
Mate I'm no mechanic but if you've lowered the clearance through changing the bolt in the dog leg then increased the sag effectively lifting the bike back to where it was haven't you just compromised ground clearance for no gain??
Hello I'm interested in this job, I also have a high saddle, and I'm 1.85 m tall, but my motivation is not so much to lower the bike but to have the suspension a little less snappy in the small roughness of the terrain. Since lowering the lever is longer on the shock absorber, do you know if this detail improves
LOL. At first i saw your vidoe was saying lowering it. I thought you were lowering it even more than the stock options. Was going to say you truly must be a small woodland creature to need it lowered even more...LOL.yeah pretty basic thing to do. Mine should be here in the USA any day now.
@drzrider3440 It's awsome you guys are getting the bikes now. I'm 180 cm tall and can touch the ground, but with taller tyres and 30 cm higher seat, it was a bit much. You will find these things out. Enjoy the new bike.
That must mean I'm a small woodland creature. Even on the lower setting I still cannot touch the ground comfortably. I elected not to purchase a 450MT for this reason.
@lawrieyoutube4375 I didn't lower the forks on mine, you can slide the forks up a little. People have commented that the bolts are very tight, so you need a good fitting Allen Key, I would use a hex socket .
I swear... If I ever bought a CFmoto 450, I'd be rewatching EVERY ONE of your videos 🙂 Good on ya Barry!
@@in2ADV cheers mate,
Thanks Bazz. Excellent video. My dealer workshop didn't want to do it for me, so I'll just have to do it myself. Have a coffee as a thank-you.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Great one Bazz, really clear instructions. The scissor lift is great, I use mine when ever I working on my bikes.
@davidz8 Thanks David, this jack is the best one I've bought.
Thanks

@OzADVRider Thanks Ian, I noticed on the Tenere it also has that extra hole.
Thank you for showing the easy way. I have the same scissor jack and just put taller tyres on it so need to lower it.
Thanks, it does make life easier. In the end, I'm not sure if how much I lowered the bike after tightening the spring but feels good.
@bazz6670 I put new tyres on hence needing to lower the bike. I haven't adjusted preload yet. Those tractionators are tall compared to OEM
@MaverickAus yes they are taller, you can get off road tyres with 70 profile. I think golden tyres are .
Good vid @Bazz66.
What tyres are you running and how are they for both on and off road?

Brilliant how easy was that, well done cfmoto🇦🇺🤘
@seawench555 Thank you, yes not a hard job at all.
Very good instructional video. Interested to hear your thoughts of how much of a ground clearance compromise this will be when you and the lads are out there doing a bit of bush bashing. Thks.
@nevillegreg1 I was out on a ride today over some rocky ground and it was fine. After I wound the rear spring up it wasn't really much lower.
@@bazz6670Is it then worth lowering the bike?
@nevillegreg1 with the high seat and higher profile tyres I coul only touch my toes on the ground. Lowering that little bit helped.
I’m more interested in the leg skill.. 😂 good video mate, did on mine yesterday
Well done Bazza!
@stevesanelli90 Thanks Steve.
Thanks for the video - Great that this feature is built in.

@@heimolindgren6290 you could drop the forks a little and back off the rear spring tensioner. Glad your enjoying the bike.
Uncle Wang sells lower seats, either 2cm or 3cm lower or you could get a local upholsterer to modify your seat.

Hey mate you need to lower front as well 15 /20mm that’s proper way from bike shop.
@antoninoarrigo2331 yes some people do that but after riding the bike it feels good. I'm happy with the height.
Good job Mate 😎
Hi Bazz! Why would you lower it when you increased it with the high seat at the same time?
@billyandriam the high seat was more of a comfort thing being more padding and giving legs a little more room. The tyres also raised the bike.
Great Job 👍
@@Desmo07 Thank you.

Hi!
How about the side stand ? Do you need to adjust it ?
@pedrocosta4811 with standard tyres bike may stand up a bit straight. Once I adjusted rear spring it gave it more of a lean.
Maybe before doing the preload, try adjusting the compresion setting. Could have made the difference needed?
@Chris_Z. I had already previously adjusted the compression, my mate lowered his bike without adjusting spring and it bottomed out pretty bad.
How tall are you again? The "squeaky shed" adventures of Bazz 66 😂 it's also windy season here now in South Africa, moving into spring season.
@paulvandervyver4223 Hi Paul I'm 5ft ten or 180 cm. The wind has been nuts, and the poor shed is copping a beating. Greetings to South Africa.

@paulvandervyver4223 I believe it is 30 cm higher plus tyres made it another 1 cm.
Is that the OEM seat or the high (rally) seat?
