It is a very nice calatrava. But at this value I'd have to go with the 5205G annual calendar, ideally the discountinued black dial. But that's just me😀. Enjoy it in good health and I wish you and your loved ones a great Christmas.

Strange how things have changed with stainless watches and that Patek Philippe give you the opportunity to purchase a £34000 watch that you have to wait a year for.
I’d never buy it. Never be able to afford it. Though I must say that is one nice piece. The only thing I’m not crazy on is the application of the date window. It looks quite simplistic. Not sure how it could be improved; maybe a black polished border. Also a silver date wheel to match the dial.

Hi Harvey, well to the channel. A Speedmaster is a good solid choice. The only downside is, like the standard Submariner, it’s a bit predictable, but a classic.
Yes, Patek offer very good strap choice, don’t they? Personally I do very much like tan calfskin. I actually had Patek make a bespoke tan-brown calfskin strap to go with my 5296G-001. The tan color works a treat with the slightly more casual feel of a sector dial, and it makes the blued hands really pop too. (I believe Jean Claude Biver wears all of his white gold Pateks on brown or tan calfskin too? But each to his own taste, of course.)
what do you think of the Bremont Hawking? thinking of picking up the steel version after Xmas, a bit gimmicky but a nice looking piece either way to my eyes.

No, totally different vibe. The WC feels more like an explorer’s watch, but the 5227 is a pure dress watch
