If people do that, the envelope decorating is really for the penpal and viewers as well to enjoy. The other thing they might do is write in the address anywhere that has some extra space and will look decent there.

I wanna use old books for my journaling because thats my aesthetic but I feel so guilty ripping the pages asdfghjkl
i bought some from thrift stores! they have a nice selection and majority of them have yellow pages!

you can use regular paper but soak it in tea or coffee first, then leave it dry and it will look just like vintage paper!
I use damaged books, the ones with ripped pages, or fading.
I use old law book or old school book, lake the one that My parents used in primary so I know that I don't damaging something important or usefull
