The reason they released the app in this state is to meet the targets set before the earnings report earlier this month. If they didn't release the app then funding would be pulled by the investors. The people that matter to a publicly traded company are the shareholders.
I saw this video while shopping for a total speaker system to start out to invest into. This has scared me out of choosing Sonos, which seemed like the best choice. Wondering if anyone has a better alternative? I plan to run 4-8 speakers at a time and need to be able to control the volume digitally across several devices. Any help is appreciated.
Great review....Crap app..... But I gather they won't listen and give us all the standard pr....we've all heard this.....now ask again roll back to s2 and sort this mess out.....angry one man band of my broken sonos system....😢
Even if all the previous features were there, the design is awful. On my 13” iPad most of the screen is just empty space! I had to buy a 3rd party app to make my system work again. And why do I need a cloud based control of my speakers to play local files that are on the NAS in my local network?
The new app is a complete disaster even 4 MONTHS after the release. It was a cash grab just to launch their new headphones. The app is infested with bugs, their support is non-existent, and their CEO is tone-deaf to loyal customers and is providing the public with a masterclass on what NOT to do in business. The Sonos stock went off a cliff in May, dropping nearly 30% in value at the time I'm writing this, and their shareholder meeting scheduled for 8/7 should be pretty interesting as the quarterly earnings will undoubtably show that headphone sales aren't enough to offset angry customers that are abandoning Sonos after being completely disrespected. Basic features and system instability have made the products unusable. Doesn't matter how good the hardware is, when customers are held hostage by the software, which is proprietary. This isn't the first time customers have been screwed by Sonos' decision to brick their hardware. Clients will not be fooled again.
Just rolled back to old app on android phone, feels like I am in heaven again.
That won't work anymore
it's a terrible release
My system is basically broken now
The new Sonos app SUUUUUUCKS!!! 🤬

Sonos is the drunk uncle at your wedding of music apps. Stay away.

I’m a new customer not familiar with the old app I don’t have any problems the app
No reason to by so around the bush about what Sonos did to our systems. They just enabled people to go Bluesound.
Do not, repeat do not buy a Sonos. Almost unusable. Complete rubbish. It really doesn't work. Utter waste of money.
The Sonos app is a joke. All my NAS music is no longer accessible.. I really hate Sonos now. Its so fuck-up.....
IT SUCKS
