- Martial Law from Final Fantasy VIII PC version that has been extended to 1 hour. For me personally, this version sounds slightly better than PSX version since "the train tracks noise" is absent here. This reason makes PC version more mellow and sweet. Technically, PSX version is obviously more superior, but there is something about this version in particular that made me stay still in Timber town just to listen to this music for hours.
Genre: RPG
Composer: Nobuo Uematsu
Final Fantasy and all trademarks belong to Square Enix
by far one of the most underrated final fantasy titles.
I agree, and now that time has passed, and there's been a bit of a revival in the re-appraisement of older games, I think FF8 will get its flowers.
I've always enjoyed the music, at any rate, haha
This game had the best environments.
Played this around in 2000 as a kid and this song stuck with me all the time till this day, it plays in my head every now and then, still.
I keep coming back to this song every time. This game music is my favorite song.
Ahh timber... Good times, good times. . . I always loved this when it plays in Deling City
Such an underrated game and sound track.
Thanks for posting this!
Seeing the low-poly, pixelated, flat texture train in the background makes me smile. Meant to give a sense of depth and detail to the environment, which worked well for the original PS1 hardware and the CRTVs we played and viewed FFVIII on way back then. But in HD like this, it looks so cheesy. Like seeing those similar-looking crowds of people in Deling City when going through the Shopping Arcade area. Where's there is a mix of the 3D NPC models and some very horrific lookin' flat texture ones. I know the old CRTV's blended the textures & pixels together to hide it from looking so awkward (and me being a young brat to dumb to even noticed anyway...) but still lol. Sure this was the best the creators could do way back in 1998/1999 due to the PlayStation 1's limits but I love looking back and noticing such things. 👀
I thought this looked so fantastic as a kid and still think it's among the best looking games on the console. 🥴
I remember when I first saw that train though and it felt like I was living in the future of gaming
I love the Timber hotel stuff up there, the timber theme is always in my head thinking about the steam engine stuff on Timber hotel.
Final Fantasy 8 is an amazing game !!!
best truth in a video game ever.
yeah great game
Squall is dead. Rinoa is Ultimecia.
:B
@@deathguise950 they....debunked that tho....
@@LyntzbartzkyPerez🤦
FF8 world is true definition of a dream
Edit : plus the music is too good.
the modern kind of soundboard can be found too in front mission 3 , another square game from the same era. give the ost a try it's quite good on some city tracks
Best soundtrack in all of gaming 😁🥰❣️
Very good brainstorming vibe music
1:34 love the chill jazzy feeling here
Has anyone ever noticed that the turning gears on top of the Timber Hotel are making the Valve Steam logo at one point?
nice
Really? What time exactly?
@@LilDemona On the hotel's sign, look directly above the letters "tim" in Timber. As the gears are turning, the arms rotating the gears are eventually in the same position as the Steam logo. Makes sense because they're steam punk gears!
i mean both are based on the early patent of the steam engine so yea
thanks for not including the version that does BAAM BAAM BAAM
Timber always had a good feel to it.
Love FF8. Has some flaws certainly (draw system is a great idea executed poorly) but music, locations, enemy and boss designs, GF system, junction system, optional areas/bosses were all great imo not to mention the awesome Triple Triad!. I wish FF8 and 9 kept the FF7 limit break system however.
Very legend of heroes theme
25 years later Cozy just now notice the train in upper left ;)
Find ich richtig was ihr da macht.
Hoch auf euch und solletaire
Good scene, good choice… haha GJ from Japan … BGM is bit different from PS ver. I feel so.
PCバージョンってちょっとソフトに編曲されてると思います
A good idea... all of these Final Fantasy characters... if they are based on real people, all should have their own games with their nicknames or names, like me.
QUI ÉCOUTE SA EN 2023....
Something about the PC version is just comforting. Some of the ost does not hit as well with this soundfont, some of it (like this one) I prefer over the original
Totally agree! It's so comforting that it made me wander around in Timber town for a long time :)
Is this game uematsu?
Yes
is there a FF that isn't?
@@walteravalos4508 Uematsu left after FFX, if I recall correctly.
Why does it sound so different?
Fuck yeah!
Weird.... It sounds different from what i remembered
This is the PC version I believe. The instruments are different to suit the hardware of the time.
I often felt what let this city down was the colour pallet. It looked very bland and forgettable compared to Balamb, Galbadia, or the Gardens
True, the locations that stand out imo are the TV Station and the bar.
of course that was the point, Timber is meant to look dull and rustic, that's its theme. Balamb and the rest of Galbadia are very different from Timber
@@LyntzbartzkyPerez it might be the theme but asthetically it's neither a good idea or memorable. I think it looks just a little too Aqua.
@@judyhopps9380 well you can have your opinions, but I love the way they designed Timber and I think it is very memorable
@@LyntzbartzkyPerez I can respect that. Maybe my lack of memory is because we spend so little time there.
27+35=H 2O
This game sucks.
…On the nipples of success! (I stole that line from a user on a different website)
@@deathguise950saving that one in my mental back pocket 😂
Haha nice.@@jkoz4
Your mum sucks
It sucks so good.
Game is trash
It's okay to be wrong. Game is goated with the sauce of legends.
Sounds terrible , when will devs learn not to remake soundtracks they just sound cheap and nasty
