    I love your painting. Very creative.
    I'm learning to paint and learning brush strokes.
    I probably won't go to finger painting at my stage of learning but later when I have more experience I will try different techniques.
    Thank you

      Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate your comments. I now have a new website: www.spruceandfjell.com/ I will be adding information on paintings, and patterns that go with paintings, on that site. If you have any recommendations or questions, please feel free to reach out through that site’s email. 😁

      Thank you! This painting was fun to do. Try it! Texture is easy to use, and adds a lot. Practice, practice. I have a new website: spruceandfjell.com - I have an art section on that, under Crafts, and will be adding more projects.

    Lovely, reminds me of the cliffs on the north coast of Scotland.

      Thank you. I would love to visit Scotland one day.

      @@ChristinaSherrodArt If you do, I'd recommend the north-west Highlands. Many visitors gravitate to Edinburgh and central Scotland but if you appreciate beautiful, dramatic scenery, as you obviously do, then the Highlands are where to go. I hope you manage to visit some day.

      @@herringfly I hope I do as well! Thank you for the tip. My grandparents were from Norway, and I do hope to see that area, too, one day.

      @@ChristinaSherrodArt In a way, you could almost visit both at once. The Outer Hebrides (off the north-west coast), where my mother's family is from, were once under the sovereignty of Norway. She was from a place called Luskentyre, on Harris. Do a search for images, it's beautiful. I used to have the beaches pretty much to myself during the summer when I was a kid. Most of the place names out there are Norse.

    Do you have a tutorial on how to re-create the landscape in the painting which has Ur daughter facing the sea ??

    • @ChristinaSherrodArt
      @ChristinaSherrodArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I do not have a tutorial on that painting, but the method is similar to my first video. That video is of an old barn in prairie grass.

    Can you paint the cliffs without the palette knife?

    • @ChristinaSherrodArt
      @ChristinaSherrodArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You certainly can use a brush instead. I liked the look I achieved with the palette knife, but you can get a nice effect with a brush as well.

    hi christina, any chance of having the canvas filling up the whole space? thanks

    • @ChristinaSherrodArt
      @ChristinaSherrodArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. TH-cam fills in the side spaces with black because it is rectangular in shape. My canvas is square. Thank you for watching!
