Oh my god the pain and sadness you hear in Johnny's, voice some singer's have the ability to just draw you in like that and it just Hits you deep on your soul. WOW what a song. Thanks for the music
I agree and I think he was one of the most underrated not the underrated one of the most underrated singers there was in country music he was awesome 👍
I saw him in Panama City Beach playing at the beach party restaurant and pub Johnny Paycheck ...he was absolutely fabulous I think he is one of the most underrated singers there are in country music 🎵. I was jailbait if you don't know what that means that means that I was underage But it was so cool to see him play and saying I have an old fiddle picture in my bedroom my Daddy love this song May they along with my sister rest in peace 🕊️ in Heaven or should I say rejoice in Heaven
Daryle Singletary's version is the one I personally listened to the most, because I had a random CD that had that song on it. His voice is so great. And there's a surprise feature at the end of the recorded version. Then after he unexpectedly passed at the age of 42, Jamey Johnson sang it at a concert in honor of Daryl Singletary.
He played (I think) bass guitar for George Jones in the early days. You can see a young, smooth faced Johnny in some of the early performances of George Jones. He'd sometimes come up to the mic and harmonize with George.
I heard Johnny wrote Old Violin when he was in prison in Ohio in mid 80s after shooting a guy in the head in an Ohio bar. Fortunately the bullet just grazed the guy and he wasn't seriously injured.
Amen brother...I agree with you on old country. Frankly I don't care for new country ...it's just bubble gum pop. The best era of country is from the 60s to the early to mid 80s. There's some good stuff from the 50s too, like Hank Williams and Kitty Wells.
Hey Chris, hope you don't mind me calling you Chris, but I would like to request a song by Mel Tillis, called "BRAND NEW MISTER ME" this is a great song by Mel, hope you will react to it. Thanks
New subscriber here from Australia, country music fan for 63 years. I’ve got one thing to say, 👍🏻🤠thank you.
I’m twelve and I love music like this

He wrote this song while he was in prison, this was my grandpas last song he asked us to play as he was passing, talk about a house full of sobbing
