Having done several Cold waters and Convectors, one thing that helped me was after you have the new drags and crank shaft reinserted into the side plate, I found that if you reinstall the drag star and reel handle you can snug the drag up and it holds that stuff in place so it can't come apart. To me you can then reassemble the reel easier by doing this. Thanks
Hi Chris, I'm sitting here working on swapping drag washers and I had a thought. I thought it might be interesting to us small boat people if you could give a talk comparing fishing out of a large boat like your charter boat vs fishing out of a smaller, trailerable boat. Just a thought. Thanks Chris and Scott.
Good stuff, BUT, if you are not really good at reels, do not mess with Shimano Lever drags. I have been messing with level winds for over 40 years, those lever drags are tough. Very different than all the rest.
Scott sure does make it look easy !! Not a lot different from the 1st reel upgrade but still fantastic to see done. Thanks to you Chris for this and to Scott for making it so easy to understand. Cheers from south eastern Ontario 👍👍
Chris and Scott, I use all 30 dlx reels is there anything different than lets say the level wind ? The counter is opposite the drag side on these. Keep up these great videos!-Todd
Does this reel not come already fitted with carbon drag washers? Were you replacing or upgrading them? If upgrading, which washers did you use please? Thank you.
Thanks again, Scott, for your desire to help us all be better fishermen and to you Chris you both rock.
Thanks for watching!
Thank's for all the work you do bringing us all so much information .
Great work Scott
Thanks
Tim

Thanks Scott, I truly appreciate all your information. I've considered doing drag upgrades but this makes me think I truly should. Again, thank you.
