Yo, guys! Why are you dividing total power output (motor + rider) to just bike weight? Not to rider + bike wight? It seems like fact hucking and shown "power to weight ration" makes no sense.
assuming they're taking rider weight as proportional to rider power output so it's equal across all platforms so wouldn't affect the outcome relatively, just the numbers would be higher across the board... In reality you'd have varying P/W ratio's depending on how fat the rider is vs. how much power they could put out just because we're all not made the same, unlike a certain bike model. Hopefully that makes sense.
This makes no sense at all. If you want to compare power to weight ratio, you have to calculate with the total weight (bike + rider), not just the bike. If we assume 80Kg for a rider, the power to weight ratio is much in favor of the Patron: 8.1 vs 5.7! Hence, also your conclusion that "on a regular climb, the battle is definitely open" is completely bollocks. This bike has no chance on a regular climb. I also have hands on experience with this. I have a Genius EMTB and my friend with his Orbea rise, which is very, very similar to the Lumen, has literally no chance on any sort of "climbs". The reason for this bike is that it´s nimble, agile, fun and neatly integrated. I really like this bike. But stop pretending that this is a climbing machine like the Patron. It´s definitely not.
Great insight to the engineering - thanks for the effort of creating such a detailled video! As for the costs: How much is the bike? Somebody wrote more than 10 k for the medium type and 20 k for the luxury variant. Is that true?
The most premium part of this bike is the range extender! 160 Wh for 560 Euros; that's 3.5 euros per Wh. A Bosch smart system full 750 Wh battery is the same price, making it less than 0.75 euros per Wh. That's over 4.5 times cheaper! No matter how you calculate the watt per kg, in my book, 750 Wh can go further than 360+160 Wh battery. With a spare 750 Wh (total 1500 Wh) would cost the same as TQ batteries. Now let's see how they compete with a powerful Bosch system having 10kg extra weight, yet more powerful to go up the climbs and travel more distance.
Do it yourself and walla.... You have your own calculation. They show it relative to the bike weight. You can fill in the blanks rather than them giving you a table with infinite possibilities ;-)
I'm sorry guys, but did you just show us a power to weight ratio that included the power of the rider and the bike but the weight of the bike only? errr....do you think the ebike buyers are stupid? I can't buy a bike from someone who comes out with that kind of nonsense.

He just want to fool you ! When you go uphill you will know more power always batter.
What happens if the battery is defect? Isnt that problematic given that the battery is not exchangeable?
Awesome bike but that’s not how you measure power to weight ratio.
well done guys, this is the best bike on planet earth.

So how do i get the shock out if the motor is in the way?

Allmost 20.000 dollars its insane !!
it should cost more TBH. thats a discounted price!

Awesome package
Sorry, you have to add the riders weight, too. Then the power to weight ratio is clearly better with a patron

The only bummer on the bike is, that I can’t change the main batterie, I would like the change da batterie. The range Extender has an absurd price
that down seat tube to BB junction looks is odd .Or even eye catching asking people to ask is it an e bike ?Wish they can trim out
$10k for medium build

Shit this bike is really very hot 🔥
Waowww👏🏻👏🏻💯💯👍🏻
+20dB next time please, was not loud enough.
pixel display?! wtf
Scott - let's add levers for everything. Eject rider lever for crash situations. Lever for water spray on a hot day.
