    Thanks for sharing your project! I miss the time when I had a yard big enough for a riding mower. That gasket was definitely shot! I try to be very good about mower maintenance on our push mower, and the local commercial equipment place sharpens blades for $8 with a razor sharp edge straighter than I can do.

      @TwoRailfans Ha ha! Lawn nerds unite!!! Good maintenance goes a long way to keeping equipment new! Glad you didn't examine my side grinder hack sharpening job closely! Mine are sharper than a baseball bat, but I have no idea if I'm doing it right!

    The valve covers leaking, will just come back again. The plastic coves warp with the heat of the engine. Best fix, would be to upgrade to the metal covers.

      @@blackhillsandeasternrailroad No, they use a real gasket. Not an o-ring type. The seal is a lot better fit.
