    You should add a old school library style rolling ladder to use the high portion of the stage wall. It would live to the side of the shot and any rolling mechanisms above the shot. Utilize the upper portion with lesser used tools but still accessible.

    John, it is illegal to bury electrical outlets behind walls unless you completely disconnect from the main panels.The wall looks awesome wish I had that kind of space. The only reason I am mentioning this is you keep saying you don't know anything about construction, I have been in construction since 1967. Jurassic Era. Keep it up very entertaining and informative.

      @cbarnhart76 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same thing.

    • @ZeoCyberG
      @ZeoCyberG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I believe it's Section 314.29 of the National Electrical Code (adopted in some form in most localities in the US) that basically requires all outlet boxes be accessible without removing any part of the building or structure, which would also include wallboard...
      Though, besides completely disconnecting that section, an alternative is to create an access panel to allow easy access...
      That said, there were a number of other details that were questionable as well, like directly attaching the wood to the steel and concrete surfaces and unless I missed it no mention of treated lumber, vapor barrier, underlayment, moisture test, sealant, any installed safety systems, etc.
      May have been taken care of off-camera but it seems worrisome as shown...

    • @bloodgain
      @bloodgain 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is also against code to bury some junctions without an access panel -- basically anywhere you can pull wire from, _if_ I understand the rule correctly. I didn't see everything they buried, but I was pretty shocked to see them bury the outlet. Besides the fact that it's easy to see why that's a bad idea, why would you give up perfectly good electrical access anywhere in the shop?!
