I have this exact model from Lionsteel and I absolutely love it. It has a real traditional Spanish flare. In total I have about 34 knives. Three of those knives are swiss army knives. The rest are an assortment of Benchmade's, Spyderco's. A couple of Kershaw's, zt, CRKT's. The only other 'slipjoint' inside that collection is the Spyderco, UK Penknife in s110v. Mostly only there because of the super s110v blade steel in a economic FRN package. But again the Gitamo is really pretty stunning and fairly underrated. It has a very strong slipjoint mechanism. Strong enough that I'll easily carry it as a primary whenever dressed in more formal attire. Beautiful production style craftsmanship. Great to see it getting some more play on TH-cam. Thanks for posting!

Damn I love the profile.. I’m a sucker for a classical clip point. Very cool Dirk! I love lionsteels fit and finish

First! Thanks for the video! Pretty. Carry a classic as well in my work bag. If carrying another slip joint; it’s usually my Proper and because I’m wearing something a pocket clip won’t work well with, like sweats or nice slack/special occasions.

There may be a couple of slipjoints that will come close…we’re talking really stout backspring. Lionsteel Gitano comes to mind. But only with light strikes and they end up as finger guillotines when you try to close them normally. Ironically Spyderco’s finger choil like on the Ukpk is one of the better solutions to accidental closing. I actually use my Pk more than my Para 3…slipits have a hard halfstop too.

I do carry a slip joint as a backup knife. My mom bought it for me years ago. But my typical main carry is a folder. Usually a heavier weight that most edc. I tend to like bigger knives but will carry up to 5 at one time lol! 😊⚔️🤟🏻

I became a maniac collecting four " Gitanos." I did modify the knife for faster opening and closing. Amazon sells "KWIK THUMB BAR." The knife and the thumb bar go together quite well. Please be sure to avoid the thumb stud which doesn't fit on the Gitano.

I'm not a slip joint guy but I would definitely carry that.

That's a really cool looking slippie, reminds me of a pimped out cold steel with how large that blade looks! Really nice design and it looks like it can do some work. I like to carry a slippie for food strictly and then my other knives are for everything else.

Not big into slip joints myself. I do like the look and the style just don't own or carry many. The only slip joint I regularly carry as a secondary is a Swiss army knife. Looks like lionsteel did a great job on this one however. Great review 👍

Pretty cool looking knife. That carbon fiber is rough on milling cutters.

I have this very same knife, in micarta version. For the life of me, I cannot remember to hold such a well constructed, functional and sturdy slipjoint as the "Gitano". The lock spring action reminds me of the ones that Laguiole uses, but stronger. I would say that the only downside of it is that the steel is a bit hard to sharpen but, hey! Is that really a downside?

It's so weird, and it appeals to me very much. I need one badly, alas funds are low. I carry a slip joint as primary on occasion. They're my preferred style of knife in most cases. Nothing beats a classic.

Very sexy slip joint! I'm impressed! Love it has a pocket clip.
