haha this is cool because i've been working at gong cha for about 6 months now too you guys have so many different menu items tho haha we only do drinks hate doing smoothies in the middle of a rush though ;-;
i've heard in asian countries they're considering expanding the menu even more LOL & then for the smoothies u have to wash the blenders in between to make other smoothies during the rush too TᴖT
thank you for sharing !! I've considered working at a boba shop ~ what would say is the best and worst parts of the job (obv the trash part lol) ? and do you get any benefit like free drink a day ? lol ~ my friend worked there for just a few days and she said they made her try/drink so much boba and toppings she got sick lol wait, for the pearl milk tea, what's the shaking with the ice for, why not just put it directly in the cup, if you're just gonna pour it from the shaker into another cup with more ice ? lol ~ is there a lot of excess/waste from using the blenders / shakers (like for the smoothie) ?
best parts: it's a relatively low pressure job, and when it's not busy, it's super chill and i can just talk to my coworkers worst parts: probably just closing and cleaning everything at the end, but it's not even that bad all our milk teas are either made with hot water or the milk tea is premade and stays in those red barrels - which keeps it hot. that's why we need to shake it with ice to make it cold before pouring it into the plastic cup there isn't much excess, no. we follow 'recipes' in a sense to make sure there's not too much excess.
Do you guys use non-dairy creamer or whole milk for milk tea? I know some places use non-diary creamer + condensed milk. Im just genuinely curious as i like to make good milk tea at home.
