- Hi, in this video I try to land several planes at Paro Airport. The airport is located in bhutan and is often considered one of the most dangerous airports in the world due to the steep mountains surrounding the airport.

I like how the engineers of this and other difficult airports were just like: Oh, there's 500 meters of flat ground, let's just build a full out commercial airport!
Cause there is no other safe place to build an airport dude. This country has mountainous terrain.

Great video! I tried landing here at night with a C-17 and almost crashed the plane. Very difficult for sure. The terrain surrounding the airport makes it a difficult approach to say the least!
Yeah true!!! I also tryed several times...
Approach slower and pull the throttles to idle at the runway threshold and you'll touch down on the marks more easily

in real life planes usually land from the opposite side which is much easier. even more respect that you landed the an225 from this side
I'm definitely not surprised that he got the C-17 in there. Those things were made to stop on a dime practically. And takeoff just as quick(depending on fuel and cargo weight obviously)

Seems like the approach to RWY 33 is fairly wide open compared to RWY 15. I would land on 33 long as there was no big tailwind...but what fun would that be ..right?

You need to try the AN-225 with a full load or the Buran on its back.

mmmm si ps como por ejemplo medir mejor el avion toca tierra muy tarde solo hay que hacer como yo en los videojuegos bajo los flaps hasta mas no poder y apago totalmente los motores cuando estoy a punto de tocar tierra y debes aterrizar con los frenos de los neumaticos activados para frenar en cuanto toques el suelo es mi manera en aviones grandes y pesados no apago el motor solo pongo la potencia a 0 y aterrizas sano y salvo XD
@@alicianietoidrogo6799 El autor de este video tiene nociones bastante limitadas de como aproximarse a una pista. No puede ser que con un avión tan grande como el antonov, con las dificultades del terreno y aeropuerto y aún mantenga potencia en los motores hasta practicamente tocar tierra, eso es un suicidio. Y en cada video es lo mismo.

From what I have seen, not a pilot here, I'd suggest trying to use the rudder more so you can create more of a Yaw and turn more easily without having to bank the plane as much, as well as remember that when the plane is so close to the ground, the "Ground effect" will give you more lift than you usually would have, thus needing to idle the engines much sooner and reverse thrust sooner as well. Just my 2 senses here, as I said not a pilot.
As a private pilot I can say you are very right. When watching these landings, I was thinking "rudder!!! rudder!!!" all the time :-)
