Yeah, some channels have gone to the dark side and review stuff that is ridiculously priced. In about everything, you reach a point of diminishing returns. I get FLAK about not wanting to blow a lot of money on items, but a lot of times, less expensive products function very well. I just have other things to spend money on.
I picked up one of these to use as a byknife on my dunedain ranger kit.

You can't really beat that. Its sort like Mora. Yeah they are cheap but cheap doesn't auto automatically mean its bad. Besides I make custom scabbards etc so I like having some budget stuff around that I can work with without worrying about an expensive blade getting beat up around the shop.
For sure, this will always earn its keep.
Looks nice. I would maybe customize the handle a bit and make a leather sheath. Good project knife.
