Saw the title for what this one was. Had to watch this immediately. Because these guys are so talented it is mind blowing. Jari has this ability to compose these songs that just come to life, much like Tuomas does for Nightwish, and how do you even begin to quantify that ability? Meanwhile, obviously, Kai is an absolute drum beast. Super technically talented, with so much passion in his playing. Jukka's bass playing just holds everything together, this solid backbone for everything to work on. Then. You get to Teemu. Teemu Mäntysaari. He actually teaches guitar privately over Skype, in person when they're touring, and in Helsinki. He's an incredible player, and has some of the cleanest technique I've seen. That LACS guitar of his is a beautiful piece of work, too. As far as next tracks? I think Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring) Live at Summer Breeze 2017 would be a killer one.

I listened to them the first time in around 2005 when i was 15 years old, 2006 i went to a concert with Wintersun as Guest and Amon Amarth as main act, was fuckin awesome. I bought the first album back then, good times.
Next it would be great to hear a little older and faster Wintersun. This song is one of the best guitar solos ever.😊 Wintersun Winter Madness Live @ Summer Breeze 2017
In fact, Sons of winter and stars has +1200 tracks. And mixing the ablum Time, Jari ruined a PC because it doesnt the enough power to work the songs, so it crashed. Also he did all the video and photograph production for the album Forest Seasons (he learned all that just for the it, so is a fucking machine) Land of snow and sorrow: the most beatiful balad in the metal history Death and the healing: excellent song, with a solo... Beyond the dark sun: all the power in just 2 minutes Winter Madness solo: the most epic solo in metal history. Battle against time: it crush your fucking soul. Not a fanboy opinion, just check out these songs and thanks me later
The first album has a very special sound, some aspects of it shine through in Wintersun's first album as well. I really like "Treacherous Gods", "Battle Song" and "Windrider" (although all songs are killer), but it was actually the relatively calm song "Eternal Wait" which brought me to Ensiferum and (Melodic-) Death Metal in general
Loneliness next! Both the regular and acoustic version. It's their most emotional song by far. One of the inspirations behind the whole album Forest Seasons is Vivaldi's Four seasons.
Wintersun is fucking incredible. Time I is a masterpiece of an album. I've seen them live once. They sound the same live and they do on their albums. Having the whole crowd singing along to these songs is just a great time. One of the best shows I've ever been to. "Loneliness" and "Starchild" are great choices to react to next.
loved the reaction! Wintersun is one of my fav bands, I would recommend you to check the forest that weeps, loneliness, sleeping stars (live version) and starchild. Also you should check the band Ensiferum, if you don't know about them, they are an amazing band and was the former band of jaari, where he was the vocalist in their first 2 albums, the song "hero in a dream" is just a masterpiece
As many already said... "Loneliness" next. Even though I think the Forest Seasons is to be appreciated in it's fullness, a reaction on Loneliness is mandatory, and the story behind that music still makes me shed a tear, so much emotion behind it.
I fucking love this so much! I have told this to my friends to play this song when I am gone. Thanks Tank this is just so great to listen this with someone who loves it too.
Wintersun may take a long time between album releases, but I think you would agree it is absolutely worth the wait. Every album is an epic masterpiece of composition and musicianship. You cannot rush that kind of quality! Welcome to the Wintersun party brother!
Please react to Wardruna ! You will love them! As viking as it gets! 😃 Wardruna - Raido. An amazing song! And the « word» Raido is infact a rune, it stands for overcoming challenges, travel, adventure and so much more i could write a short novel 😊🙈😊🇳🇴 I have watched ur reaction to this masterpiece like 15 times now btw 🌸🌸✨👌🏼🇳🇴 You are awesome man! Greetings from Finland, the most metal country in the world - e.g. Finland: has about 700 metal bands per 1M inhabitants, The U.S. has less than 5. That being said, everyone should have some time for "Time", which is also what the kanji on the neck of Teemu's green guitar means. P.S. Kai Hahto has already recorded the drums for Time II in 2015, if my memory serves, but like you said, no release date is set yet. Wintersun has also added a new guitarist, Asim Searah; for their live shows since 2017 as Jari nowadays only sings when they perform live. P.S.S. I highly recommend that you also check out Jukka's (the bassist) former band, that broke up in 2012: Norther- Mirror of Madness th-cam.com/video/cTtSq3ZRfUE/w-d-xo.html

I adore this song, winter sun are a very understated band. I love all the shifts, twists and turns the music takes. Jari is an amazing singer and composer.
that was awesome we be in the same boat the two songs by WINTERSUN that you have reacted to are the only songs i have heard by this group. i need to check out more have a great weekend c-ya
Hi Tank! Thank you for reacting to this epic masterpiece. I've heard this live twice as the finale song to their gigs. It's an unforgettable experience. There is a third song left to this studio live session. Propably my favourite one too, called Land of snow and sorrow. Hope u react to that one too. Ws doesn't have musicvideos but one, Battle Against Time, and the rest are lyrics vids but i think Jari made them himself. There are some video releases from live shows from festivals like Summer Breeze and Karmoygeddon in utube that are of good quality. Then there is the Tuska live. When they toured US 2018 they filmed most of the shows so there is hope we'll get a full live release someday hopefully.. who knows. They also released a "new song" while over there to give their US fans smth special. It's not revealed officially from which album it is from but we the fanbase think it's from Time II a song called 'Storm'. Very powerful song. Aand Jari likes to be very mysterious about things. Lol. I wanted to mention that Jari is a huuuge Devin Townsend fan. And is constantly looking to find and improve guitarsounds. Check his utube channel for f.ex pick-up tests etc. He also dropped playing the guitar live to focus on the vocals and they got another guitarist on board. Teemu took over Jari's parts and Asim Searah plays Teemu's now since 2017 or -18. Teemu is a well respected guitar teacher and now since the launch of Ws patreon Jari and Asim have done lessons online too. About the drummers Heikki has been on board a lot but also Rolf Pilve from Stratovarius and at some point Timo Häkkinen too. Btw. if i remember correctly there are around 1500 tracks in SOWAS. If any of my knowledge here is missplaced please feel free and correct me. M
Come on, man, do WinterSunday! What is holding you back? Nightwish Wednesday and Wintersunday what a week for your followers! Great reaction! I guess you will complete the three songs of the sony pumps studio series! After that I hope you start with their first album and listen to that and after that you go to the forest seasons...
It seems we both like and appreciate these two bands (Nightwish and Wintersun) at the top. For myself, after them comes, surprise surprise, two more Finnish bands, namely Insomnium and Amorphis. Now that you’ve watched those two Wintersun “Sonic Pump Studios live rehearsal” videos, you might want to watch that third as well. Before you move on to their other production. The third is "Land of Snow and Sorrow." That’s when you heard 3/5 of Wintersun’s second album (Time1). And all those songs are different. After that, you have to choose which direction you go, for the third or the first album. If you decide to go to the third album, I would recommend listening to it from start to finish in order, as Jari intended it to be. Jari has been inspired by Vivaldi's Violin Concerto Four Seasons. But of course there is nothing in common other than inspiration. Jarin’s album is titled “The Forest Seasons” and features four songs: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each has a similar mood to that season in Finland. The annual cycle begins in the spring, when nature blossoms. Continues into summer and light. And there’s an interesting surprise in this song. Male choir of Finnish heavy metal musicians! A total of 16 musicians from different bands singing! These two songs Jari apparently did earlier than the last two. When autumn comes, it will be dark and rainy. But in real life, Jari’s father was seriously ill and at the time of making this song, Jari had to take care of his father a lot. To take to the hospital, to get out of the hospital, to take to the doctor, to get medication, etc., etc. That gloomy episode is reflected in this song, Jarin’s feelings. When I get into winter, a cold period. But Jari's father is already dead and if you look at the lyrics, you see that Jari misses his father and would have wanted to tell him something else, but now he can't ... So, there’s a reason to listen to that album from start to finish in order ... Maybe you would like to explore Insomnium? A good place would be to start with the song "While We Sleep." Official lyric video: th-cam.com/video/vBZ5SLJmfdw/w-d-xo.html
I have to say, listen the song again while reading the lyrics (although you're native english speaker). This song is actually really dark as time is our best and dearest friend and at the same time our worst enemy. It keeps evolving what is great and it keeps destroying what is current.
I would put Tuomas & Jari on a similar level for the complexity and layers of the compositions. I am just more attracted to the more melodic side of Tuomas and as I am not naturally a fan of the screaming, this make me lean more towards Nightwish, but for people who like harder music and the growl, I can understand the attraction to Wintersun.
Great reaction! They have one last song from Sonic Pump called Land of Snow and Sorrow. Other than that, I echo what's already been said, Loneliness is a great track that actually makes you feel cold and sad at once. Winter Madness has a face melting solo by Jari. That's off the first album from 2004 where Jari played every instrument and track himself besides drums, definitely worth a listen
OWW YEE ... finally! I clicked in no time I think this will be your second Wintersun reaction if I am not wrong! AND this is going to be pinnacle reaction of this channel Hope this brings more Wintersun songs to this channel cause they are music monarchs lots of masterpiece they have I know you will enjoy this one, guarantied
YES !! Finally some more Wintersun here :) Great reaction man, probably one of the few bands with an absolutely flawless discography, can't go wrong with any of their songs. For something heavier and more "raw" I recommend Battle Against Time or Winter Madness (mind blowing solo in this one) both from their first record, both incredible songs
I see a lot of people recommending Loneliness, but I recommend listening to the album The Forest Seasons in one go. A story is being told and each song is vastly different from the previous one. The album consists of only four songs: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
I saw many people recommending Death & the Healing. Seconded, thirded, whatever, but please do the 2.0 version of it! Your reaction was a joy to watch as always.
When it comes to Kai Hahto people always discuss about Wintersun and Nightwish, but as an old metal head I just have to point you to the direction of Rotten Sound. That is the band that got Kai famous in Finnish metal circles in nineties. Rotten Sound shows were something else... grindcore ftw
For the next Wintersun song, I recommend either “Battle Against Time” or “Starchild.” They’re both from the first Wintersun album, and I always go to those songs if I need a quick Wintersun fix. I haven’t found a live video that has a good audio mix for either song, so I suggest just listening to the studio versions. They’re also comparatively on the shorter side, so they provide good options for a shorter, but still high quality video. It makes me quite happy to see another person love Wintersun’s music. You may also like some of the earlier music from Ensiferum. It’s my understanding that Jari used to be in that band, but he left Ensiferum and started Wintersun so he could create exactly the music he wanted.
Yeah another Wintersun, which can only be good! Though, before seeing the full video you already earned the thumbs up for playing Amorphis - Death of a King in the background :D edit: and of course for Finntroll - Trollhammaren at the end ;)
btw what most reactors are missing about this live rehearsal version that its actually two songs from the album Time I. "Darkness and Frost" (an instrumental) and "Time"
I am also a late arrival to the Wintersun party and though some digging I found their whole crowd funding drama which made me really sad because Jari is a genius and the other members are some of the best in the business. I think their approach to getting funding is an embrace of new options and their attempt to be more artistically independent. It clearly worked they made bank, but there is still no Time II likely because as you mentioned the tech they have can’t handle what Jari is trying to do. These guys are very approachable and I know Teemu and Asim (who plays Jari’s parts now) do remote lessons. They seem like really cool dudes and amazing artists
Masterpiece!!!!!
was soll ich noch sagen?!
" Loneliness" next. Jari's vocals there is amazing.

"12 minute song, by the way, so I hope you're patient today"
Tank fact: This song is 2 minutes shorter than the last one
You will love the Forest Seasons album as well.
In fact, Sons of winter and stars has +1200 tracks. And mixing the ablum Time, Jari ruined a PC because it doesnt the enough power to work the songs, so it crashed. Also he did all the video and photograph production for the album Forest Seasons (he learned all that just for the it, so is a fucking machine)
Land of snow and sorrow: the most beatiful balad in the metal history
Death and the healing: excellent song, with a solo...
Beyond the dark sun: all the power in just 2 minutes
Winter Madness solo: the most epic solo in metal history.
Battle against time: it crush your fucking soul.
Not a fanboy opinion, just check out these songs and thanks me later
I heard Jari in Ensiferum first, and I always loved his sort of 'high pitched' growls / screams...So much energy, and so much soul in it
I think u should comple the hat trick and react to "Land of snow and sorrow" next. Last one of the Sonic pump studios stuff.. I think.
Masterpiece! Thank you!
you should also check out Jaris old band Ensiferum.. :) i think he was on their 2 first albums
Correct. :)
Same for me, Eternal wait and Abandoned.
You‘re so right!!
Ensiferum, my second favorite band but it is a very CLOSE second (Wintersun is first). It seems the Nordic Metal scene is where it is at nowadays.
"Loneliness" and "Battle against time" from their first album. Great video! greetings from Chile!
Loneliness next. Very touching song as it is influenced by Jari's father's death. Touching and needless to say amazing.
Love your work, keep on going!
Loneliness next! Both the regular and acoustic version. It's their most emotional song by far. One of the inspirations behind the whole album Forest Seasons is Vivaldi's Four seasons.
Wintersun - Loneliness, beautiful and emotional ballad
Please see Sabaton - En Livstid I Krig live! They got the view from the Stage to the crowd, and it is unbelieveble.
Soon. 😎
It was worth the wait, Tank! I guess a Wintersun Saturday is in order 🤘😊
Time II is here!
Some bands could have easliy made about 10 songs out of the amount of riffs which are in one Wintersun song :D amazing!
Omg those guitars sound heavenly
Quick update: Time II is out now :)
If we have a popular proportional most heavybands in the world, best of those must be awesome. Well,in this case EPIC!!!!!
Im still watching this reaction 🙈 Im in love with it. And this masterpiece of a song. I hope you are doing good man! 🤗💯🇳🇴
Thanks Tank, I truly enjoyed this. As a retired drummer, I am always amazed by Kai's talent. Absolutely going down the Wintersun rabbit hole! :)
Can this channel get much more subs people?!! I love this dude's reactions and breakdowns! 💯👏🏼👌🏼🇳🇴 He is such a likeable person!
Thanks Camilla!
@@TankTheTech You are so welcome man ! 💯🤗
I just want to give you a friendly hug over the screen everytime i see you
I am only one who watch this again and again through time?
Even the children grow up with heavy metal as there is band called Hevisaurus that plays children music😉 If you check their song Hevisaurus - 100, you might spot some familiar faces😁
@@siddni_ I know & wish they had been around when I was still a child some 50+ years ago.
Thank You Tank! Maybe there's a little finnish melancholy in you, since these bands has had a crasp of your soul hahaa 🤘🏻
Epicness 🖤🖤🖤 .great reaction..🔥🔥🔥..keel safe and healthy. 🤟
I adore this song, winter sun are a very understated band. I love all the shifts, twists and turns the music takes.
Jari is an amazing singer and composer.
Jari is amazing. got to know him through ensiferum, their first album is incredible and i warmly recommend listening to anything from it.
Love the use of Amorphis in the background of the video Tank 🤟
Favorite TH-cam channel, hands down.
Thank you!
that was awesome we be in the same boat the two songs by WINTERSUN that you have reacted to are the only songs i have heard by this group. i need to check out more have a great weekend c-ya
Have seen them on the 70000 tons in 2015 .... they are an amazing live band.
You are playing Finntroll in the end, well done sir!
M
Can hear Hevy Devy in his sound.
I am new to your channel and this is my first time watching this video. I also subscribe. Also, it is my favorite band and song.
Awesome! Thank you!
Gotta finish the studio sessions with land of snow and sorrow. Another beautiful tear jerking masterpiece!
Had to listen to Death & the Healing now because of the comment section! So, I recommend that song.
Gotta love this song and your reaction!
We deffinetly have some grazy stuff coming from Finland :D
man never heard of them and they are absolutely amazing, time to listen to them in the hi-fi system NOW
Come on, man, do WinterSunday!
A good place would be to start with the song "While We Sleep."
Official lyric video: th-cam.com/video/vBZ5SLJmfdw/w-d-xo.html
Insomnium tomorrow. 😎
I think this is the best of a truly excellent Pump studio video set, haven't watched it yet, but betting you're absolutely blown away.
Both Nightwish and Wintersun are fantastic bands. There are so many good bands to listen too!
OWW YEE ... finally!
I clicked in no time
I think this will be your second Wintersun reaction if I am not wrong! AND this is going to be pinnacle reaction of this channel
Hope this brings more Wintersun songs to this channel cause they are music monarchs
lots of masterpiece they have
I know you will enjoy this one, guarantied
I can not get enough of watching this reaction! 😊😃👌🏼 I love ur honesty, your channel , and your face ( yep ) 😃👌🏼🇳🇴🇳🇴⭐️🤗🤗
"Feels like these songs were written for me" I know that feeling... with these Finnish wizards
Очень хорошая реакция и обзор. Спасибо ,мне тоже нравится финский металл 😉👍👍🤘
Definitely need to check this out for sure. Thanks!
Man you make my exact face every time I listen to wintersun. They are such an experience to withhold.
Starchild❤❤
Tank goes wild!! Wonderful!🙃
Yeah another Wintersun, which can only be good! Though, before seeing the full video you already earned the thumbs up for playing Amorphis - Death of a King in the background :D
edit: and of course for Finntroll - Trollhammaren at the end ;)
btw what most reactors are missing about this live rehearsal version that its actually two songs from the album Time I. "Darkness and Frost" (an instrumental) and "Time"
I didn’t know it was both songs until TH-cam hit me with a copyright claim for both of them. 😂
Caught these guys live at Heavy MTL in the forest stage. Was the tour for this album. Blew me away!
Yay!
What a sound!
A wall of pure talent.
More!
