What a brilliant video Kate 👏👏👏👏👏👍👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👏👍 beautiful scenery and two guys having a laugh 🤣😂🤣😂you two are made for each other. I really enjoyed watching that. Thank you.
Well Kate it's always helpful getting the pillion's perspective as my wife rides pillion all the time, at 4;50 you passed right by where i live, and just around the corner from Fred Dibnha's old place. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely love my interceptor. There are so many ways to customise them, too. Also the touring seat I'd all I have known but it does a good job. Awesome content as always.
Great bike to personalize. Wasnt initially keen on the pegs.. my pillion didn't like it either, was scrunched up like a jockey. So I cut some 1/4" plate and lowered the main pegs 2" and fwd about 1.5". Had to change the linkage which wasn't difficult. Lowered the back pegs about 2" and almost 5 fwd. Much better! My pillion agrees. 😙
Thanks for that Kate and Mike, much more entertaining than the rubbish on TV. Was up at Hollingworth two weeks ago, didn't know they had that local delicacy. Will check it out next time
Kate This was a brilliant video! You should do this with all the bikes that take a pillion. Especially like the Interceptor and all the similar pillion friendly classic style motorcycles. I loved this video! I love the way Mike Manned up and trusts you. Awesome Lady! Ride SAFE and BE safe! 👍👍 This is for Mike! 🍺🍺
RideawayMike was a revelation and it's so nice to see you on a bike which doesn't need a 30 minute introduction on all its specs before taking off. I tried the Interceptor and i to found the seat a bit uncomfortable to say the least and ended up buying a GoldStar which to me was the better bike and with far more character. Its a pity that the BSA dealer in Lancashire has stopped selling new BSA s and you've got to go to Yorkshire to get a demonstrator, just not good enough BSA.
Kate, the perspective view from Mike’s camera when he was behind you was comical with him being so much taller than you! It almost looked like he was standing behind you😂 Just epic!

0:09 The giggle is killer. 😂 Your hubbie seems like a proper bro dude. 👍 I actually loved this vlog. It's pretty cool seeing the both of you talk.
Last time I took a pillion was on a Sunday morning, slightly damp , going to coach gymnastics about 3 miles away from home on my Fireblade, I lent my mate some slightly slippery waterproofs and set off , on the way there was a lovely straight with a dip , so without a warning, I opened her up , like you do 🤪🤪 Getting to gymnastics I did the warm up etc and was just finishing the 30 minute session, when in walked my mate , he was ok but was going to do me some harm for not warning him about the sudden turn of speed . 😂😂🤣😂🤣. Where still friends but I’ve never taken a pillion since 🤣🤣🤣🤣☔️☔️☔️ . Great vlog as always 👍👍👍👍
Fab video thank you! I put a conti gt650 touring seat on my Interceptor and find it loads better. Couldn’t hack the original for more than 30 mins, but can ride all day now.
Excellent video Kate, your lovely personalities come across so well. I can see you both ‘get’ what the bike is about. So many people want the fastest, or the bike with every electrical assistance and gizmo, or can brag about horsepower figures. My Interceptor is always slightly better than I expect. As I said to a mate “If I was going to ride to Rome in 2 days, I’d always take a GS. But I’m never going to ride to Rome in 2 days, so I’ll stick with my Interceptor thanks! Ged.
Great fun video. I never would ride a pillion. Recently my wife of 4 years asked to ride. I was apprehensive She explained she had ridden pillion before. It was great fun as she understood how to ride. It can be dangerous if the person doesnt know how to ride. They can through the bike if its balance point. Anyway. It was refreshing to year two people discussing their perspectives while riding. Your chemistry is good. Cant wait to get an interceptor.
Mike needs his own bike related TH-cam channel, I don't do Twitch, but ace having him involved on yours Kate 🙂 A2 bikes are great, in a real world environment, you don't "need" a lot more... although it is fun having some grunt 😀 and like Mike said... you can actually use the full power of the bike, means you can enjoy what it is more. Great fun vlog 😀
That's a good idea seeing how it responses to a pillion passage my other half she said the seats are small to fit on my honda had a nice big pillion seat but it's nice to know how it handles two up plus luggage keep the good work up👍
Had my Inti 650 for 3 years now and absolutely love it I ended up getting a custom seat from Holy Goat custom seats made a hell of a difference, the missus is not a fan of pillion on the interceptor due to the bench style seat , she can't see out lol , as on my Tiger sport she loves that , great video guys keep em coming 👍🏼
hired one in australia & went down the old coastbroad south of Sydney, two up, bike was so easy to ride :& live with, hidden gem, all the ride modes in your right h and!!!! good video guy s
Take note Kate, "if it's behind ya it doesn't matter". Mike, don't keep telling the world that Kate can't ride..., or she'll never get a loan bike, ever again! A different sort of video/format here..., I like it. It's got me thinking how good it would be to have a, "Q + A with M + K" I can think of several Qs, without even having to rack my brain.
Loving this - takes me back to when I used to take my missus out on my old CB500. I decided not to insure for pillions for the first couple of years with the Africa Twin, as it's a big heavy beast of a thing & both myself and the missus have a few lbs extra since our late 20s & early 30s, and it's a tall bugger too, but it is good to see you two on this neat wee classic. You make a very cute couple 🙂
Good video Kate, would like more of these if possible, it's a great idea, 50%+ of my riding is with a pillion so its really important to me and my other half.
Lovely bimble folks. Just the way I feel, when I ride my Kawasaki W650 twin. Everyone looked so happy on the seats, outside the pub. More like this please.
Great video, Great chemistry with you two. Love the Yorkshire accent... Mike..."I'll go down here and see were it guzz". 😂Great to have a pillion prospective. you both should do more video's like this one.. very entertaining. 😊
Awesome video! Fun! Beautiful countryside for sure. I do like that bike. What did you have to eat? I didn't recognize it. I hope this does become a series. Best!
It’s about sharing the experience which is cool. My other half loves pottering around on my classic 350 says very comfy pillion. I think RE should in an update for the interceptor go along the lines of the bullitt seat. It’s not about BHP !
Love it well done guys, the interceptor was also the name of the V8 Car 🚗 driven in Mad Max 2, sound awesome with a sports exhaust pipe. I really enjoyed the banter between you guys, gave me flashbacks of riding with wife on the back (she always said I got the sport exhaust so I couldn’t hear her)
Really enjoyable vlog Kate. As for 'The Lake' it's definitely a great place to eat and, a brew/shandy, mid week on a sunny day is the best time to visit. As for the bike, really interesting and, quite impressive that Mike likes it so much. 👍🏍.
This is a really good idea. There is a big gap in the market for videos reviewing the pillion experience on bikes. I think Royal Enfield have identified a great market where people are interested in good value basic motorcycling. The other manufacturers are now having to respond.
It was purely because of itchy boots i started to look at RE,after a lot of research and test rides i traded the 1050cc vstrom in and got an interceptor, I've not looked back.
The minute Vic sat on the bike in the showroom, she said I will never be a pillion on this seat. I got the Premium touring seat and it's been a game changer. To Mike's point, it adds a bit of height and you can seat on it for hours on end
So pleased to see this video as I have an interceptor and I have the touring seat which makes it much more comfortable. I also have heated grips on mine. Btw I also own a hornet which you did a pillion ride with Mike too so if you can just do one on a Ninja 100Osx you'll have pillioned all my main bikes😃 👍
Thanks for this - really useful. I'm thinking of getting an Interceptor as a second bike. We ride pillion a lot and the Classic 350 is surprisingly capable two-up. But sometimes we need something with longer legs and a sixth gear for doing a bit more distance. By the way, if you haven't tried the Classic 350 two-up give that a go too. As long as you choose your roads and stay off motorways etc they are incredibly good.
I put the GT touring seat on the Interceptor. I found it a bit more comfortable, but not enough to make a good argument. The main reason I did it is because the front of the stock seat was so wide that it started to split on the side. The GT seat is a little more narrow where your legs are and I have not had an issue with it.
That made a nice change. Felt like I was along for the ride. Nice to see the bike handled so well by you both. Just got myself an Interceptor after years of 150-200bhp machines. Needless to say it was her last ride on a motorcycle and the last pillion I’ve ever carried ,worst move I ever made changing my solo seat for a dual it killed my Harley 😊
If you had a topbox on the back, do you think it would make feel more secure on the back? I personally don't like to be pillion, I don't like not being able to see where I'm going.
Next one in the Pillion series, must be on the BSA Gold Star... pleeeease! Or any other other content about the BSA, because i'm contemplating on buying one, as my, end-of-riding-days bike, coz i'd like to finish off my "riding career" by down sizeing, and on the same brand that I started on, several moons ago. They are not yet available in the country where I live until April 24th., and i'm currently lashing up all I can find on them. I know, that from your valuable (well to me) thoughts and comments I will know a bit more about what to expect from the Goldie. Why am I asking you? Because i'll get to ride one as a test ride for just an hour, whereas you can form a more reliable opinion over several days with those press and loan bikes you are constantly priviledged to have. Thankx.
There is a lot to be said about small displacement bikes, after all they have been taken around the world, "Jupiters Travels" by Ted Simon. I would have no no problem buying a smaller displacement bike when my aging body refuses to hold up the ones I currently have. Would I take it across Canada, yes I would, but I would motel it, as I reckon this bike would struggle with a months worth of stuff including camping gear. Great flog and a great idea to get a pillions take on it.
When i had a company and employees i banned the phrase “Not to bad” how about “The seat is better than others I’ve used” or “You know what its doing a good job” or “Theres a lot to like about XYZ” hope this helps with your dialogue
What a brilliant video Kate 👏👏👏👏👏👍👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👏👍 beautiful scenery and two guys having a laugh 🤣😂🤣😂you two are made for each other. I really enjoyed watching that. Thank you.
