Kyle Rainer johns a badass but just saying, that’s big steel at like 20-25 feet. If you can’t hit that fast and consistently you need to shoot more.

Gen 5 stock sights have a taller rear squared U-notch. Place the white ball in the bucket. Easy. The polymer used for those sights was changed to improve durability. I actually LIKED the sight picture. Can't believe I said that. My favorite sights are Proctor Y-Notch (Frank Proctor - Way of the Gun).

I just bought a Gen 5 17 Blue Line and it has the forward slide serrations. I carried a Gen 2 Model 22 for 25 years and never thought I would relegate it to a backup handgun.
I love the look and feel of the Gen 5. It shoots great and the ambi slide release makes it great for off hand shooting.

My carry gun is a Gen 3 19 with an aftermarket slide and sights, but all slide internals, including barrel and recoil spring are stock Glock. And I love it

Awesome video and collaboration. My Gen4 G19 will stay my primary sidearm. I just don't feel Glock did enough to make me want a Gen5 and I hate the Beveled slide. Still waiting on a Utah class Ranger Lovell.

Also, the finger grooves fit my hand perfect. My Gen4 will stay my beloved lol.

John Lovell I agree with that. I would probably upgrade but the Bevel makes me hate it. Not that looks are or should be a big deal but let's be honest it is 😜

As a left handed shooter I've been waiting for a lefty friendly Glock for some time. I have a .40 of another brand in my safe that used to be my wife's nightstand gun. I hope to sell it soon and get myself a Gen 5 17 or 19 to do an extended test drive on.

Interesting, I didn't realize the Polygonal rifling was gone, I thought they just moved the engagement point of the rifling closer to the chamber eliminating the "gap" in previous barrels. Huh, Cool. Awesome to see both of you great guys in one vid, cheers.

The Glock 34 gen5 is an MOS gun and is already available - but not in the 19/17 yet. The Gen5 G34 also no longer has that open window in the slide, which I'm happy about. Looks like a great platform.

great video gentleman I work in a local gun range here in Las Vegas Nevada and I put those POs s through a torture test slide cracks frame fractures and of course normal Glock malfunctions such as stove pipes and misfires and the ever so famous slide lock breaking off but it is a good training tool I like my students to go through different types of scenarios therefore I use Glock Jimenez Caltech and other junk gun to teach how to come out of a disaster and back into the fire fight of course all of this is done in a Range I for one would not trust my life with a Glock I guess it's just like Indian Motorcycle some people just have to keep on making one two three four and so on

Luv the barrel upgrade. Not that previous barrel was bad. Just having something you can compete with right out of box for accuracy is pretty cool!

Agree on the slide stop sticking out. I am a left handed shooter but I did not experience any issue with the additional width. Slide did not lock even with the high thumbs forwards grip. The trigger felt like an after market, and less "sloppy" than my G19 Gen 4. All around great gun. Did you notice any fitment issues with your holster John? Some have said they have. I had no issues with my NSR XC1 or my T-Rex Arms Sidecar. Great video again keep em coming. Love your channel.

I shot the Gen 5 19 Monday afternoon for the first time. It felt good. My EDC is a Gen 4 22. I need a longer grip but still enjoyed it.

John you are killing me! Just got a new Gen4 17 earlier this year after watching a ton of your videos. I even got the NLT special SIRT training pistol from Telluric and have actually gotten pretty good with the system. Man, now I have to go out and get a freaking' Gen 5? Ugh (in a good way)

Bought my first glock 6 months ago .. I'm happy with the gen 5 , 19 .
I've carried the 19 forever. I've switched to the 17 because I like the changes that have been made in this gun so much. People who talk negatively about the gen 5 guns haven't spent any time with them.
Great review guys got a gen 5 about a week ago..like it a lot...best new feature I like is the trigger...now let me see what Yankee Marshall thinks of this gun.lol...he is funny as hell I never take him seriously though lol
I know this is a touchy subject but i would love it if you made a video about having to take the life of an enemy during service. Can you share your experiences, explain how to prepare for it and how to deal with it?

as a lefty the ambi slide release is a big deal! my fns 9 might play second fiddle to a gen 5, especially since I tend to shoot Glocks slightly (only slightly) better, we'll see.
Finally, the gen 5 review we've all been waiting for!

John and I, the only two people in the world who fit the finger grooves! lol I almost wish they would have kept them, either way I got my hands on a gen 5 19 the other day and it felt good. Nice factory trigger too. But I just wish the one thing they would have done that they didn't.....under cut and smooth out the trigger guard do my middle finger can get up in there and feel at home....you know what I mean.
I have carried a gen 3 19 for years, and waited until the MOS gen 5 hit to pick up another 17. I wanted to avoid that semicircular cut at the front of the grip. Personally, I like the finger grooves, but it’s not that big of a deal.

Waiting for MOS in OD. I'm guessing the gen 5 fits the T.Rex sidecar the same as previous generation Glock 17 and 19's.

Welcome and good! Safety is always a top notch priority. There are systems of rules in place that we never break and then after a lot of time, we know when to move slow and when fast is safe and fine
