We had to edit some parts out because TH-cam blocked the full version. We really tried not to remove too much. DAMN YOU TH-cam!!!!! (Kidding! We still got some love for TH-cam :p)
This song has the most number of translations to other language because of its message in phils history. It talks about the time when you were born until you had your own life and made mistakes and finally admits that you made a mistake in the end. I hope u look for the english version... i think it has a version too.
I think the reason she didn’t add too much variations to the song is because of the fact that as much as she want to orchestrate a better version, she had so much respect for this “Kundiman” type of Filipino song. The original song was sang by a well known all time Fil. artist Freddie Aguilar decades back and “Anak” has already been translated to 27 different languages including Mandarin etc. Majority of Chinese people already knew the song back then. And i think KZ felt the need to stick to the “Filipino way” of singing it with the thought in mind that this is no longer fighting her way back to the Singer competition but to showcase the Original Phil. Music, show it to the world by singing in Tagalog, and at the same time manifest the current good relationship of China with the Philippines by adding few Mandarin version of the song. And as a Filipino, watching this performance, generally, a lot of us could say she nailed it really well without distorting the very soul of the composition. She gave respect and justice to the song & proudly sang it to Singer and to the world. 😊 Oh, btw she’ll have her last appearance on the show at the grand finale as a guest singer. Hope you react to that soon. God bless you both! 🤙🏻
At this very moment, KZ just actually would like to present the Filipino music as best as she can. She didn't focus much on how she could make it really grand, explosive and such. She just put all her feelings and love of music on this Filipino sing which is very emotional and meaningful. So much feels in the song! We are all proud of KZ, she's the real talent!! 👏👏
I think with her last performance, KZ doesn’t wanna win. She just wanna show the whole world what OPM really is. Pure vocal power, soulful heart. It’s very risky song choice, but definitely she owns the whole hearts of the entire filipinos. She’s very proud to be a pinoy, and because of that were very proud of her.
The song may not have gained her a place back in the competition, but as a Filipino I am so happy she sang this song. Every time I hear this song, involuntary tears would immediately spring from my eyes. It's such an emotional song that would touch anybody with parents if you listen closely (and understand, hehehe) to the lyrics. Her rendition made it more emotional as she really felt the song. I'm so proud as a fellow Filipino. 😭
Anak is the most iconic song in the Philippines. It actually got very popular in the late 70s, early 80s and spread like wildfire throughout Asia. Here's the english translation: The day you were born to this world Your parents were full of joy And their arms are your light And your mother and father Worry and don't know what to do Watch over you even in your sleep And in the night, a sleepless night, your mother Is still awake to prepare your milk And in the morning you are in the lap Of your father, who is so joyful because of you Now you are all grown up You desire to be independent Even if your parents forbid, they can't stop you Isn't it you that changed a lot Disobeyed them, remained stubborn And you did not follow their advice You did not take the time To think about all the things they've done for you For you desire, only what is pleasurable You just ignored them And the days have passed And you took a wrong turn in life You are imprisoned in a horrible vice And you approach Your dear crying mother And she asks "Child, what happened to you?" And your eyes immediately shed tears Without you noticing You are regretful and realize That you were at fault
@@joeygonzo If you're feeling the song whether it's translated correctly or not you'll like it .... it's a song .... a universal language so you have to consider it ... tsk
Had so much respect for her. I love the fact that she didn't change it the way how she changed other songs because she has so much respect to the song. I love you KZ! Your rendition so far is my favorite!
We know this song is not enough for her to get into the competition again.. But to most of Filipinos, we are very proud and happy of this performance.. This is an iconic song in Philippines and every Filipino, by just hearing the intro, already felt the victory in our hearts. KZ made us so happy. We love her.
The first time i heard kz sang the song anak ...i had so much emotion i cried a lot becoz it is a heartfelt song...and the rendition is really nice ..kz you really a great singer ang still you are the winner in my heart..thank you for bringing opm music in china mixing mandarin language....
Oh my! This performance is so beautiful. I love you, KZ. Im so proud of you! I really love "Anak" because that is what we call ART! Kz, you did great! MGN, your echos are so interactive. Congrats!
The guitarist is KZ's music partner in the show. They usually just talk and give suggestions but he and KZ became very good friends so she asked him to play the guitar for her. He's a famous celebrity in China with 11 million followers in his Weibo.
The song is a filipino classic, and it’s one of the songs that will not hesitate to make you cry once delivered. Hope you’ve got the meaning because KZ accentuated some parts to make it more emotional.
Anak is a really old and popular song written by a filipino folk-singer. The song was translated in 27 languages. It has a really deep meaning. Great reaction guys!
The girl that they frequently show during the performances is one of the singers and is also the host of the live shows. Her name is Angela. She's also going to the finals along with 6 other finalists.
Btw i'm very proud and love KZ bcuz she is the the only person who sing in chinese/english,tagalog/chinese and as we can see the others singer only sing in chinese or english only...Peace
Everytime we filipinos hearing this song makes us so emotional. Because this song is the themesong of one of the most popular drama movie"ANAK" means children. A story of a mother and child. A mother had no choice but to go to work seperated away to her children for long time because of poverty. And a child who grew up with full of luxuries but they dont appreciated what their mother`s sacrificed and hardship for them. I hope you watch it.
Hi guys...this show is extremely proud of their musicians. They introduce them one by one to the crowd at the beginning of each show. The pianist is the musical director. THe chorus line if of five people, the one that they show continuously is the lead singer in the chorus. And yes, the singers and the band work together in the arrangements. The singer has to develop the main arrangement and work with the band to accomplish hir or her vision of teh song.
Thanks. Interesting info. Is the lead singer famous as well? I've seen her on a couple of non-Singer shows too. She's really good (and pretty :D ). I've seen the pianist elsewhere before previously too.

Anak is a classic It's really hard to make a variety from it while respecting this classic Pinoy rock rock "Fun facts" it is the most translated (50+) Filipino song
It's an iconic original tagalog songs released in 1978 and was translated in 27 different languages... it solds 30 million copies... KZ sang it both in Tagalog and Mandarin languages with KZ twists of course...
It gave me goosebumps when KZ gave emphasis and repeated the word "MALI" which basically means wrong in Filipino. It made me feel more the repentance of the "ANAK" (child) from taking his/her parents for granted despite all their hardships.
Oww, I wish you had seen the whole episode, because it was beautiful..as always I love your reactions, she’s so talented and love her versions of one of the classic Filipino song..love u guys😘
English translation of Anak is “Child.” It’s an original tagalog song in the 70’s or 80’s and it became so popular in other countries. There are quite a few of this song translated to different languages like Mandarin. So the Chinese people know this song. There are even Chinese singers who sang this song if you search TH-cam.
This is a classic Filipino Kundiman, I think this is the only way she should sing this song and I think it is beautiful the way it is. I suggest you guys should listen to the original rendition of this song, so you would have a total understanding why she sang this way. Also check the meaning of the song, so you would understand why auto tune is a no no for this song particularly. 😊 Best of luck for both of you guys.
Love this, thank you for the love you’ve shown your way to KZ! 😍 Just a background of the song, “ANAK” is one the most popular (if not the most popular Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs of all time in the history of Philippine music by Freddie Aguilar. It’s so popular that it was translated, sung, and recorded in about 26 languages in the 70’s! “ANAK” literally means “child” or “son/daughter” is a song of remorse and apology from the child to parents. It is a powerful and an emotional song particularly about Filipino family values. KZ’s emphasis on the lyrics “Nagsisisi sa isip mo ng nalaman mong ika’y nagkamali” Literally means “How remorseful the child is when he thinks back of the wrongs and the pains he brought to his parents”. NAGSISI - means feeling remorseful MALI - means wrong NAGKAMALI - committed a mistake or wronged someone It’s actually quite a very simple song (in terms of music progression) but the meaning behind each line drives it straight to the heart. KZ tries to break the song (a little) and tried to make it more current when the song modulated (rock part). I appreciated that she didn’t fully break the song and kept its simplicity because that was really the intent of the song. What is amazing and where she really continues to prove her musical artistry is when she owned it and nailed the important message of the entire song. The simple line and her repeated lyrics of “NAGSISI - IKA’Y MALING MALING MALING MALING MALI” which means “feeling remorseful or regretful for being so very very very very wrong”.. makes you just want to weep. Kz is just incredible. ♥️
that was a legendary song here in the philippines... Theres so much emotions in these song. Many people will be related in this... It says that the values of being a person. That your parent is always there for you through good and bad times even if you were taken the wrong path...
Hi, It should be Child, singular form. If it's "mga anak then it means children, plural form. It's the story of a willful child who wants her/his own way in this world and made wrong decisions in life along the way and full of regrets in the end. And parents, hurt and confused but always understanding and loving towatds their child unconditionally. Literally, it is the story of the Prodigal Son. The composer they say of this song, Freddie Aguilar, wrote this while in prison. His dad wants him to continue his education but then he wanted to pursue his music. Got involved with the wrong crowd and made bad decisions. Eventually he became one of the greatest musicians in the Philippines. This song alone was translated into 64 languages at that time.
youre too literal. the song talks to the child. you. me. everyone as our parents' child. that is why it is more logical to have been translated as "to the children". it talks abt us, our parents' children, being to arrogant to feel like we know how the world works and be emancipated.
Cause this is a very emotional song. This is a song made as an apology of a child to his/her parent. It's a classic Filipino folk song by Mr. Freddie Aguilar which popularized during the late 70s that was even translated in so many different languages across the globe.
Hi..MGN ..the song that KZ sing in episode 12 "Anak" means "Child" and this is a very iconic song in philipines sing by "Freddie Aguilar and he also sing in english version too...
This is one of those songs that translations just cannot give justice to. It may not be written in deep tagalog but this song connotes very very heavy. Her delivery makes it even more moving and powerful. As a native speaker, this just left me in pieces. Although many had pointed out the gist of this song, I trust that you at least felt the deep meaning of this timeless song.
What I would suggest is to listen to the original song sang by Freddie Aguilar then give us your honest reaction. Also the meaning of this song is actually very sad. I think it was already translated to English here in your post. Her version is way different from the original. You'll feel the real emotions she put in this song. Pls.
"ANAK" (CHILD) is a song by Freddie Aguilar translated into several languages including chinese and japanese... it is a song about bringing up a child.
📍in the late 70's to the 80's the song was a phenomenal hit worldwide, was translated in different languages, was also translated in Chinese back then, its a Pinoy Folk-rock CLASSIC entitled ANAK (my child), i think she did not change the song that much out of respect to the original singer the legendary singer-song writer Freddie Aguilar, it is a song of the great love of parents to their child from the time he was born, grew up, but followed the wrong path and later in life was full of regrets because he knew in his heart he was wrong, whatever it is, KZ might not mean that much to the world but she is true to her roots and because of that we Filipinos are proud of her❤our Philippine Ambassador to China was in the audience❤Chinese singers still sing ANAK up to this day.
Kz you did well.. It wasn't exaggerated.. Not necessarily add rnb's like m-angel adds suggestions because of it's already been so good. Maybe they don't appreciate kundiman but they like kz performance it's difference. But maybe they also not understand the translation mean't. The anak is already emotionally sang over years. Though kz made it epic for me as well as other agreed to it. KZ already made her part and I am already proud to her to represent our music. 👏Elegant clap kz.
Anak means my daughter or my son was a song written by a folk Singer Freddie Aguilar. It was first performed in the inaugural in the Metropop Song festival in 1977 and became an international hit.It was the most successful Filipino song of all time.It was translated in 26 different languages...
Anak or Child is a famous Filipino sung by Freddie Aguilar and it was so famous that it was translated into many many versions like German, Korean, Japanese. English and other languages...

You two are funny in reacting, the song was edited, it's a happy and sad song, parents raising their child the best they could and the child went bad and in the end she regretted it...so that's it, KZ is KZ and Regine is Regine.
The song is about a kid growing up realizing his mistakes because he didn't listen to and appreciate his parents. True. It is more of a "kundiman" song, that's what we call it here in PH - the original version is. Technically it is a song that kind of focus on the storytelling part rather than giving it different range or tone etc. Hahaha.
It's a Filipino/Tagalog song but she also translated in Mandarin..It's a story song about how Parents love so much their Child but grow up and made mistake by messing up her/his life with drugs.
She's singin in FILIPINO then MANDARIN. The guy on guitar is her manager & translator. * This iconic song "ANAK/CHILD " was composed & sang by a Filipino artist Freddie Aguilar. This song was translated to different languages worldwide. I like this version bcz she twisted the arrangement a little bit. it makes you choke up & cry
Hi guys... well, the beautiful girl you were referring to is Angela. She's the host of the show awell as one of the contender of Singer 2018. Jessie J, Angel, and Feng Weng were not competing because they are already in foe the grandfinals.
Anak is an original pilipino music (OPM) - one of the most loved. Thus, She can’t change that much-or she’ll get a whipping 🤣🤣 This song was translated to so many languages so u can look for the english version “Child” - by Freddie Aguilar.
"Anak" (roughly translated as "son/daughter") is a classic Tagalog song written by Filipino music icon, folk-singer Freddie Aguilar. The lyrics is about family values and has the theme of the "prodigal son". It was a finalist in the Metropop Song Festival held in Manila. It became an international hit in the 70's and 80's, and was translated into 20+ languages.
Lol M-Angel youre so funny. Btw, the song is about a child who did bad stuff, didn't follow parents advice parents and regret everything. The song was written in the 80s. Kz gave justice to the song but I agree that it's not enough to bring her on finals. It's just sad because i heard she's supposed to sing "Close to You" by the carpenters and surprised the audience with her Trumpet Mouth. But yeah, i guess they'll never hear it anymore. Hopefully she'll do it on WishBus.
Anak(Child) is written and popularized by Singer and song writer Freddie Aguilar. This iconic song is translated into 20+ languages, released in 50+ countries and sold more than 30 million copies world wide.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to 5th Gen on the wish bus singing "Anak". I requested it awhile back but wasn't sure if it'd end up on your list since it is kinda a random song to react to...but now that you've heard KZ sing it, PLEASE check out 5th gen's version!!! LOL. They are sooo good individually, but I think you'll also love their harmonies
the meaning of the song is basically the story of child rebeling from either of his/her parents and doing something so wrong then the realizing that everything she did bad to her and her parents and regretting each and everyone of it. (theres also a movie adaption to this song)
Thanks guys for this wonderful & inspiring reactions, you guys are real partner in life?hope you answer my question just to avoid confusion on my mind. Tnx
what is funny about this show is that , technically it is not a singing competition at all but actually popularity vote.. the live audience whose actually chinese fans of their artist will do everything to save their idols. the ticket is hard to avail, but 500 tickets slot for your fans is not that impossible to manipulate. one of the contestants is actually the host of the show that is very popular in their country. Chinese want their music to be known around the world as well as the show "singer" that is why they invited foreign singers...

Anak is the most iconic song in the Philippines. It actually got very popular in the late 70s, early 80s and spread like wildfire throughout Asia. Here's the english translation:
The day you were born to this world
Your parents were full of joy
And their arms are your light
And your mother and father
Worry and don't know what to do
Watch over you even in your sleep
And in the night, a sleepless night, your mother
Is still awake to prepare your milk
And in the morning you are in the lap
Of your father, who is so joyful because of you
Now you are all grown up
You desire to be independent
Even if your parents forbid, they can't stop you
Isn't it you that changed a lot
Disobeyed them, remained stubborn
And you did not follow their advice
You did not take the time
To think about all the things they've done for you
For you desire, only what is pleasurable
You just ignored them
And the days have passed
And you took a wrong turn in life
You are imprisoned in a horrible vice
And you approach
Your dear crying mother
And she asks "Child, what happened to you?"
And your eyes immediately shed tears
Without you noticing
You are regretful and realize
That you were at fault
Jack Ridge go ahead, translate the song then!!!!
Got it 👍

“ANAK” literally means “child” or “son/daughter” is a song of remorse and apology from the child to parents. It is a powerful and an emotional song particularly about Filipino family values.
KZ’s emphasis on the lyrics “Nagsisisi sa isip mo ng nalaman mong ika’y nagkamali”
Literally means “How remorseful the child is when he thinks back of the wrongs and the pains he brought to his parents”.
NAGSISI - means feeling remorseful
MALI - means wrong
NAGKAMALI - committed a mistake or wronged someone
It’s actually quite a very simple song (in terms of music progression) but the meaning behind each line drives it straight to the heart.

What is amazing and where she really continues to prove her musical artistry is when she owned it and nailed the important message of the entire song.
The simple line and her repeated lyrics of
“NAGSISI - IKA’Y MALING MALING MALING MALING MALI” which means “feeling remorseful or regretful for being so very very very very wrong”.. makes you just want to weep.
Kz is just incredible. ♥️
that was a legendary song here in the philippines... Theres so much emotions in these song. Many people will be related in this... It says that the values of being a person. That your parent is always there for you through good and bad times even if you were taken the wrong path...
Kalang kalang!!! I love you guys!!!
'Pag CHILD kasi, ang tagalog no'n BATA. Eh ANAK ang tintukoy, so tama lang na children.
youre too literal. the song talks to the child. you. me. everyone as our parents' child. that is why it is more logical to have been translated as "to the children". it talks abt us, our parents' children, being to arrogant to feel like we know how the world works and be emancipated.
It is what it is. Do you think ka Fredie wrote this song citing him and his siblings' experience? I think not. It was all based on his own experience.
Anu nmn Tagalog ng kid?😁😊
Joem Lozada Bata is Kid.. not child.. anak is Child
We wouldn't expect Americans to understand Anaks true meaning.. To be first generation born here, this song holds so much meaning..
Wow.. Most awaited reaction.
Anak means child.
Nice ang galing mo talaga kz ipag pray ko na maging winner ka sa singer2018
Cause this is a very emotional song. This is a song made as an apology of a child to his/her parent. It's a classic Filipino folk song by Mr. Freddie Aguilar which popularized during the late 70s that was even translated in so many different languages across the globe.
Hi..MGN ..the song that KZ sing in episode 12 "Anak" means "Child" and this is a very iconic song in philipines sing by "Freddie Aguilar and he also sing in english version too...
KZ puts the character of a mother to her child on the song.
napakaganda ng kantang ito,ANAK the most iconic song dto sa pilipinas.❤❤
I love how she really represent this classic filipino song and did not just focus on changing the song to impress 👌👌
Among the reactions, this team is what I'm waiting for
This is one of those songs that translations just cannot give justice to. It may not be written in deep tagalog but this song connotes very very heavy. Her delivery makes it even more moving and powerful. As a native speaker, this just left me in pieces. Although many had pointed out the gist of this song, I trust that you at least felt the deep meaning of this timeless song.
yes finally...thanks for reacting...
This song was originally translated to many different languages. And was really popular iconic song!!!
Not a winning performance for a contest but definitely a performance that indeed gives justice to the meaning of the song. Very well done.
The most reaction video ive been waiting for.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

From World View, Sila'y MALI! They are wrong for eliminating her. Still proud of her achievement (every performance in Singer 2018). is GOLD.

Honest reaction.Angel is so pretty.Ola i love your jacket w/ the hood and cap.KZ IS so Amazing.
I love you both guys! 😍💕 and M-Angel, gorgeous all the time 😊😊 I always watch your video reactions coz you're very honest and unbiased with your opinion. ❤
I really love your reaction
Hahaha! I was literally laughing out loud when M-angel was singing "Mali!". Mali actually means "wrong" in English.
I like the version of kz for this song..amazing guys.
Kz best performance always have a dramatic expression like she's telling a story behind the song lyrics. The song is very emotional and sad.😭😭💔💔👏👏👏
Thus, She can’t change that much-or she’ll get a whipping 🤣🤣
This song was translated to so many languages so u can look for the english version “Child” - by Freddie Aguilar.
Finally... I'm waiting with your reaction guys😍😍😍😍
❤️ the reaction.
What i know that this song has 21 language translations but origally a filipino song . . . Love you both guys. .
Just feel it guys its cool
If social media and TH-cam existed back then, this song was the Philippines' viral song before. It was translated to 64 languages back then.
I love KZ rendition of Freddie Aguilar’s ANAK. So much emotion
Anak is child, mga anak is children.
Anak !! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I love the way you reacted guys.. Please if you guys have time please react to one of Kz's your face sounds familiar? Thank you.
Classy Kz.
Anak(Child) is written and popularized by Singer and song writer Freddie Aguilar. This iconic song is translated into 20+ languages, released in 50+ countries and sold more than 30 million copies world wide.

FYI, Anak (Child) became an international hit, was released in 56 countries and was translated into 26 languages.
She's always so amazing love love kz
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE react to 5th Gen on the wish bus singing "Anak". I requested it awhile back but wasn't sure if it'd end up on your list since it is kinda a random song to react to...but now that you've heard KZ sing it, PLEASE check out 5th gen's version!!! LOL. They are sooo good individually, but I think you'll also love their harmonies
Ahem...ahem...*rolls eyes* 🙄👀😞
the meaning of the song is basically the story of child rebeling from either of his/her parents and doing something so wrong then the realizing that everything she did bad to her and her parents and regretting each and everyone of it. (theres also a movie adaption to this song)
This is the channel ive always waiting to react those video.
We love you M Angel and Ovela here from Philippines
I liked it after 10 seconds! I already know that this gonna be a very good and unbiased reaction. 👍🏻
