I've seen these two little ones on the counters for quite some time. It's not like they're standing up running all over the place. They're sitting very nicely and helping mom, and it's very cute to watch.

My kids had 3 things to do after school in order. First take their shoes off at the door. Second go do their homework and they can have a snack half way through. Third a 15 minute chore that I need done by appropriate age level. 😉 Examples sweep off back porch and wipe down wall from wind blowing dirt on wall, vacuum living room cushions top and bottom then vaccum floor and help me clean out refrigerator. Gave my kids a head start when they own their own homes. I had my husband help me clean the refrigerator sometimes too. 🤣 So by 5pm those 3 things are done and we can enjoy the rest of the night.

I was encouraged to cook but not until I was tall enough to see into a pot and strong enough to control the pot and its contents. That's because my mother burned down two apartments trying to "help" before she was old enough to handle hot or sticky contents and cope with fire safely. My dad had a scar from hot cereal he spilled when was a child and it splashed up in his face and burned him badly. Both parents were careful about me and my siblings in the kitchen.
I raised my own kids with kitchen safety rules too. One rule was that no child was allowed on the counter and no child could get near a hot pot or skillet with a chair or stool. Crawling kids and toddlers never were in the kitchen at all except to eat at the table. Spills happen in the best run kitchens. None of us were ever burned or fell off a counter. It's basic kitchen safety with kids in the house. All of us, including my sons are terriffic cooks. They enjoy cooking as adults but didn't get near the stove until about nine or ten years old, depending on individual size and dependability.

Investing in those types of children's toys is a great lesson in personal finance and economics. Any toy that has 'sets' has an evergreen value that only appreciates - Lego, The Potato Heads, train sets, Brighton is smart. Playmobil was invented in Germany in 1974! Twenty-five bucks for all of that future joy is a great business idea. It is wise for your family to have these toys and retain them for future generations. Can you imagine seeing all the great-grandkids playing with these things together on holidays? I'm already there, laughing and laughing.

I don’t pay for anything with Jade. She isn’t the family dog. Though the family does enjoy her.Grace bought her, pays for all of her food, toys, dog beds, collars, leashes, her lead line outside, vet visits. She spoils her and pampers her. Jade is with Grace most of the time when she isn’t outside. She even pays her siblings to take care of her when she goes to a friend’s house or will be gone all day. That’s what I mean by she isn’t my dog. I am not a dog person but I support my daughter in having a dog by allowing her to have one, helping her research things Jade might need, occasionally taking care of her if that is needed. My point is that you don’t see Jade much bc she isn’t my dog, so she isn’t running around at my feet. She is with Grace.

Why don't your neighbors have gardens in their front yard? They would be so beautiful.

Some of them do, they just aren’t in their front yards. Most of the front yards in the neighborhood don’t have enough sun.

How come Americans don't pronounce the H in Herbs, not being rude just asking as in the uk we say "Herbs".

Learning something new about “herb”. Also researched a little and found the “h” is pronounced in UK because it was thought not pronouncing was low class. Love learning words origins.😊

@marydubiel5291 Yes. The Brits also pronounce the letter H as haych as in H&M instead of the US pronunciation of aych.
I love playing an obscure word game I made up. A knowledge of other languages is so helpful.

Let kids climb, let kids decide when they need to be careful in those situations, its stimulating brain cells. You don't want them doing ridiculous things but, let them figure out safety boundaries and little more independently. I think that kids today dont have to think for themselves because the world is doing it for them.

I cringe whenever I see the babies on the countertop. My little one fell off when he was a toddler. You will regret allowing that behavior-trust me. It will be hard to break but please stop allowing it. I have been watching all of your old videos and they are just precious ❤

Don’t let a child get on a slide, I know a kid that fell off. Don’t let a child ski, I know someone who broke their clavicle skiing when they were a kid. Don’t let your child play sports, I know kids who got hurt playing sports. Don’t let your child swing on a swing, I’ve known kids to have fallen off. Don’t let your child swim, the most common cause of accidental death for small kids is drowning, in fact no baths. Don’t let your kid ride in a car, kids die in cars. Don’t let your child sleep in a bed off the floor, some kids fall off in their sleep.

@@GaserBeam-hi4ez I think we all get the sarcasm but there are some things that are just unnecessary risks, not to mention that bare feet, which have been walking on dirty floors and outside, do not belong on a counter where food is prepared!

Hobbies, normal daily activities and life skills is all have benefits, walking around or sitting on a 3 feet high counter when they could just pull up a stool is an unnecessary risk. Not to mention the dirty feet on a surface ment for food.

You only have to see a child injured, sometimes very seriously, to realize how fast stuff happens. It happens when an adult is 2 inches from them. Like lightening fast. An ounce of prevention… I have seen backward stools for little o es to stand on by the high counter that have a back and front on them to prevent falls? Love to the whole family! ❤️🙏

They shouldn't be up there in the first place. Kids do not belong on the counter.
