And then rebels manage to attack anyways, and instead of sending reinforcements, your superiors blow up the entire installation with all friendly personell in it.

The empire was even more guilty of this. It honestly seems like there are no good guys in Star Wars. Maybe the separatists are actually the best faction, at least they seemed to really care about aliens and the outer rim. Then again, their whole model was based solely on corporate greed (and, in the background, Sith manipulation). The whole Star Wars universe is just fucked.
