  • On my drivers side door my factory 5X7 speaker was making a vibration sound almost like a piece of plastic was broken off or it had a blown tweeter. I decided to replace both front door speakers with Kenwoood KFC-C5794PS.

    Thank you for taking the time to make that video! My 2013 GT has a rattle in the driver side door that I've finally had enough of. A little know how before I tear into it is going to save me some frustration!

    Thank you so much for this video!! I had no idea what i was doing and your step by step was perfect, i even went out and bought a soldering gun and learned how to solder from this. Sparked my ambition to be more creative with solutions to other things.

    Hey Guy! I owned a car stereo shop. You did a great job. They make a adapter for 5.25 also. I ended up running boston pros, replaced that crappy 8 inch woofer with boston 6.5 pros with a custom mdf bracket, and replaced the rears with boston pros also...The shaker system sucks, Again, Great job on showing how to correctly replace and upgrade those paper cone speakers!! Maybe Ford will realize we like our music with our muscle.

    Thanks for the video. Replaced speakers in my 2010 pony in about 2 hours thanks to you. Only comment I have is I didn't have to disconnect the door handle, there was enough room to remove the speaker without totally removing the door frame. Great job!!!!

    Thanks for the video. I have a 2014 GT Premium, who has a different speaker and a tweeter of very crappy quality (made in China, 20 Watt and 2 Ohm). I just replaced the full item with a new speaker like in your video which fits into the hole and drilled three new holes to attach it. It worked and sounds much better. I will probably replace also the second one on the driver side.

    Very helpful video. Replaced these on my 2011 GT Premium as well. I did weigh the old vs new ones, since you commented on how light & wimpy the OEM ones were. OEM ones weigh 12.6 oz, vs the new ones (Infinity 8602cf), 28.4 oz. Huge difference, mostly due to the magnet. And yes, they sound a lot better than the original ones. Thanks again

    I'm not a big fan of Kenwood speakers($49 a pair, you get that, I know), but you're right on the stock speakers in these cars. Not as bad as the pre-2000 cars, where the driver magnet was the diameter of a toilet paper tube, but they're still pretty bad. Nice job on the wire harness solder, by the way!

    Thx for the good advice! It' is easier to put connectors to the wires of the stock speaker connector without soldering. You don't have to remove the door panel totally out of the door as well...

    Question for you, I have the same car with the factory Shaker 500 system. Just wondering why you don’t seem to have any bottom speakers along with top( that you replaced) I have two speakers per door...1st time I noticed that when looking up videos...

      You'll have the 6x8s up top and the other ones are 8in subs rated at 1.2ohm if im correct

    Can a 6.5” speakers fit there?

  • @SecondSunofficial
    @SecondSunofficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    just to let everyone know here, if you have a gt premuim, the speaker is a 5.5 inch with a tweeter separate in its own plastic housing, so youll need an adapter or to just replace the 5.5 in the center.

    I'm going to mod front speakers in my 2013 V6 premium and Your video is gonna make it it SO MUCH easier - thanks! :) But there's one problem I found out when watching Your video - the sticker on Your stock speakers says "4 Ohm" (10:19). And speakers I bought are 2 Ohms - I have not yet dismantled my door panels, so not sure which I really do have, but have read that stock speakers should be 2 Ohms. Can anyone tell me which impedance are standard front door speakers?

    • @fiero880
      @fiero880  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There were different speakers on the stock non GT models if I am correct. Check Crutchfield and it should tell you after inputting your cars information.

    There's a service bulletin on the Mustang. On some cars the window control bezels rattle and can make the speakers sound broken. I have the problem on my 2005 ... resting my finger on the window control bezel stops the sound.

    Did all the same stuff but my door panel wont come off. Something inside still holding on for some reason. Was just trying to replace speakers. Cant get the door panels off. Lifted up and out and it wont pop off.

    • @fiero880
      @fiero880  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just remember you have bolt all along the bottom side of the door and up the sides, the interior handle area and the inner pull handle area. It could be someone may have previously removed the panel in the past and may have put different secure tabs holding the door panel to the door. I dunno what else to add.

    What is that round part below the actual speaker on the door panel?? On the door itself there is no speaker.

    • @fiero880
      @fiero880  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the GT Premiums you have the top speaker and then below that is the factory sub woofer.

      heay my passenger sub is blown and i was looking to replace it with a different sub, i dont know if you looked at yours but do you know how deep they are? (like how long) other than that i know they are 8" and 2 ohm dual voice coils and was thinking about going with Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 as a replacement.
