I find that the HP new power port connection is a bit loose and I'm afraid it will loosen even more as times goes by. Can you pls comment on this? I don't find this issue with the old big HP power port connection, thats really very solid. BTW, I'm having HP 840 G3 :)

hi, I got this laptop in awesome condition and used laptops. Watching this video in 2024 June. It is already installed with windows 11 pro. Need your HELP as the keyboard driver has some issue and question mark key and function plus brightness key is not working properly. Hardware is almost new.

No, only with a docking station
@@Dovecomputers i got the same one and the 2013 hp docking station and it cannot support beyond 3 monitors (you need to close the lid to get 3 monitors running) I guessed I need a USB graphics adapter

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 has the newer processor so I would select this one.
Is this laptop a good choice for Programming and web development?
Pretty fast. I have core i5 folio 1040 G3 8GB Ram + SSD, Running VM + Onenote + browser + mp3 songs at same time. Still very fast.
No, it's really old now, if you want multiple apps open, have fun with the 6th generation i5 processor

I am using this laptop for last 4 months. I have chosen this over Thinkpad because of the look and I regret that decision.
~ Poor build quality.
~ Heating issue~ Issue with powering on
i've had the laptop for the past 6 months and I haven't seen any windows laptop with a better build quality. It actually fell from me onto gravel and wasn't even scratched. As for the heating issue, you must have a bug in the software causing the processor and memory to be running at higher speeds than necessary. Mine's fan rarely ever turns on...
its because of fucking toshiba ssd ! ive change it to samsung and almost no heating now

Eeeehm sorry: "real world battery life for 9hrs" - honestly have you ever used this laptop for a whole charge or just copied HPs spec sheet!?
I do have the WQHD version with 6600U and there is NO WAY anyone will ever get more than 5hrs and 25 minutes (in reality usually 4:50) out of this thing if you do more than just Word!
Besides that this is currently the best compromise for Ultrabooks largely because of the magnificent 1440p IPS Panel which beats every competetion hands down, just battery life is like...from stone age
Hi, if you watched this video, we reviewed the 1080P non touch model (V1A86EA). We normally test all our HP laptops for 3-4 weeks as daily drivers and we found it to last around 9hrs with general office use. FYI, the HP spec sheet doesn't mention battery life.
I find that a little hard to believe, I have a 840 g3 with the 1440p display and 6500u(which on battery life will probably be running at the same exact frequencies) and being mindful of battery life settings like brightness with aggressive web browsing and video watching can get 4 hours easily. Lighter browsing can get me over 5 hours and other light tasks can push over 6, which the 840 g3 has a fairly smaller battery
