They tried to reduce me for PTSD and I didn't even file for it. I filed for other things but they denied the other things and attempted a reduction.

@@Abyssofagony filling for ANY change or appeal can trigger a C&P exam. So, if you file for tinnitus after receiving 100% P&T or if you file for Aid and Attendance / Caregiver, it could trigger a downgrade.

      There's a 5-year rule. I've never heard of a 20-year rule.

@@bm100456 There are three time frames, 5 year, 10 year, 20 year. All come with different protections of 100% P&T.

Va will not lower a 100% P&T static, unless you file another claim which is rediculous, or in the case of fraud, or something n your filed triggered a review.

Why would someone with 100% P&T file another claim?

@@chrisberry-jv5sn Say you are rated 100% and you are a diabetic. You didn't claim the diabetic issue as you didn't need it to get 100%. Your health worsens due to diabetes and you realize you might die from it. If you can tie it to service then you would want to claim it so your spouse gets continuing benefits should you pass away. I know a VSO who was in this exact situation and he filed and got it service connected to make sure his wife would get a check should he pass away, and of course the medical that goes with it.

You glossed over"new medical evidence' quickly.
What are examples of 'new medical evidence'?
Could an attending psychiatrist or psychologist's routine medical notes rise to the level of new evidence?
How concerned stories I as a 68 year-old 100% Permanent and Total be?
